Knife turned out hella dope, Kyle Noseworthy! Now you've got to stitch up an equally dope sheath for it as well!
Beautiful job Kyle, true craftsman 🗡️enjoyed the background music and message.
I don't know if this has been said before, but to me, you're like the Bob Ross of knife restoration. There, I've said it. Your videos are informative, relaxing to watch and inspirational. Love it.
My uncle carried a knife just like that for his hunting knife for about 50 years . He loved it for elk hunting.
Thanks for the tutorial, congratulations on the new arrival. Excellent video, with soft music in the background. My thoughts are though Large rivets distribute the load better, smaller rivets are more aesthetically pleasing.
I have a west German buffalo skinner that has the same sheath as the one you finished there. It was my grandfather's hunting, fishing, camping knife.
This was one of the most “satisfying” videos I’ve seen from you Kyle….not sure why but I just love it when you do restoration….(might be something to do with my advanced years).
I have one just like it in mint condition. Very common back in the 60s 70s and 80s. They were sold at almost every hardware and sporting goods store.
Awesome result. Great work, KN.
Heard the preaching in the background, I do the same. Would recommend Pastor Jones from Shield of Faith Baptist church, I think you will enjoy his preaching. Really nice Restoration 👍
True Testament To Your Craftmanship Kyle ! Nailed It Buddy ! Happy 2024 To You & Yours ! ATB T God Bless
I could see you making one just like it, for yourself. Dad had a Buffalo Skinner made by that Company, my brother inherited it.❤❤❤
What a fun video You did a great job with the knife
Beautiful knife just the size I love 3 inches is the perfect size 4 inch max size. Great job. Darren
I always liked these little knives for normal things that aren't real huge tasks
Very cool work👌🏻
Great restoration Kyle. As for the pitting , to me it ads some character to the knife.
Very nice resto Kyle.
I was just thinking literally right before you put this video up Kyle hasn't done a restoration video in a while. I've been watching you since the very beginning when you first got started on CZcams and absolutely love all you're content.
Pitting? Like when you restored my puukko, if I wanted a new knife I’d have bought a new knife. Beautiful little knife, love the leather handle.
Beautiful job Kyle , I have only seen one of those knives in recent years. It was paired with the bigger full size version in a double sheath . This restoration will last many family generations.
Those were around when I was about 7-8 years old meaning the early 1970's in Alberta 🇨🇦
I see them at auctions all the time got a couple from there in last year or so .
Case still makes these, around 130 bucks for the big and little combo if I'm remembering correctly
I actually have one of these knives. I couldn’t believe it when I saw your work. It’s very true to the original.
Great video. My wife brought home a knife just like this .The only difference is it has original stag . Its very rusty so i will definately need to take handle off .
So cool! I have the full size one and it also has *SOLINGEN* stamped at the base of the blade. Thick spined blade made to never break and last generations. I don't know what the steel is but it sharpens and hones so nicely.
It's a nice little thing. I have something similar awaiting the same sort of work, maybe a touch bigger and Sheffield made, but the threaded portion of the tang has snapped making it just that bit more of a pain in the neck than I feel like taking on until the weather's warmer.
Beautiful work Kyle , Awesome music , Happy New Year , take care , God Bless
I had that same exact knife as a kid and like that one the leather handle was a write off. Sadly I lost that one but inherited my dad’s Bowie and skinner of the same brand. Planning to do sheaths for those 2 in the future. Love your work
Absolutely gorgeous work what a beautiful little knife
I enjoy watching your work
Love the videos like this.
From one knife maker to another, fantastic job Kyle! That would have been made roughly 75 years ago. Only fitting that it gets the respect it is due, and put into service for another 75+ years.
Nice work. I love knives from Solingen. I guess a lot of people say that though.
I have 2 of these both in the same pityted blade shape though the leather grip is in decent shape and the other handle is buck antler. The sheaths are shot, I may attempt them myself and that's a great tip on the brass wire wheel! Both are Edge mark and handed down from my grandfather when I was 30, some 22 years ago, Cheers Kyle!!
I have almost the exact same knife. Just with less rusting on the blade.
I appreciate your integrity to share what you listen to in the shop. Love a good sermon in the background.
Me too only mine is the next size up .
Very nice, kept the history and revealed the beauty.
You are amazing
God bless
Kudos for your work and not having ear splitting loud music when not talking.
Excellent job on that restoration, Kyle. Absolutely stunning. 😊Thanks for sharing, take care and Cheers!
👍🙂 .. I'm from Germany.. i have the same knife as a child at the end of 70tes .. same shape .. I think the handle in the original was a piece of antler ..
I think you have the best "knife" channel on the www. please a little more time to admire your craftsmanship (display the finished work a little bit more, so we can be even more in awe of your skills!).
Man I’m so glad I found this channel… I want to learn how to make my own knives and sheaths… I’d really like to make a parang… I had the Bear Grylls parang but somebody stole it… I loved that thing though. When I got it I had ideas of making my own… I just think it would be cooler than buying one. Yes I know, it was a cheap parang but I still liked it…😂
First like the old days...
That's so very cool. I've never seen a little mini like that.
Love it, less is more, beautiful little knife, you sure did that one some justice, good job
I have never carried a fixed blade EDC, but I remember the original videos for your first Bake Apple knives. I said to myself If I ever carried a fixed blade, it would be the Bake Apple. Do you make left side sheaths for the Bake Apple? I'd like to consider getting one to carry while camping and on day hikes. God Bless.
So satisfying to watch a beautiful but well used knife like that transformed. Nice job Kyle. I have a chef knife I would like re-handled, it is an old US made Forgecraft, just a fantastic knife where the geometry just works perfectly. I also have a fully finished custom made knife that needs handle and sheath. I was one my mentor made, and there was a steel defect inclusion in the spine. I suggested grinding it out, and made a good job of it, and it went on the peg waiting to be finished. Then he passed a year later and I bought the blank from his widow. I would like to use it as a gardening knife.
Nice job I might have wanted to change the sheath with a leather spacer to protect the stitching. I like that you upgraded a chose a thicker leather. I was thinking it would be nice if you wet formed and molded it but I can see you were staying as original as possible.
Amazing
Another spectacular outcome Mr Noseworthy! I have an old Kinsfolk that could use the same treatment! Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks for the video Kyle, Nice relaxing video.
Would love to know the full story / history behind the creation of this wonderful piuece!!
Beautifully done, sir!
Outstanding job Kyle !!
Thank you Kyle!
Superb job, Kyle!
Nice work as usual Kyle!
Well done Buddy 😀
Really nice, Kyle. I wonder what kind of stories that knife could tell?
Incredible and beautiful-
Stunning work sir
Amazing MAn!!!!!
I would definitely have taken a couple of thousandths from the side of the blade to get rid of all the pitting provided there was enough material there to do that. I believe there was enough material. If you are going to make the knife look close to new then the pitting should have been removed. Just my opinion, Great job on everything else. Well done.
Happy New Year, Kyle. Really cool restoration.
Excellent job and beautiful restoration 😍😍
Would love to have a little fixed blade like this, does anyone make one currently?
I purchased a knife similar to this with a 5" blade at a house clearing sale for cheap, "RUKO" Solingen U4! Wondering if it is a decent knife or cheap junk?
What brand of knife?
I don’t understand why you’d put the rivets where the blade will dull up against them without a welt. 😬
Praise be to the Lord JESUS CHRIST brother! GREAT VID!
🙋♂️👏👏👏👏👏👏👍😉👌
Not a fan of pitting. You asked.
Nice Job. And I like that radio program etc what is background there. Are you Jesus believer ?
A true craftsman.
