      That's just what I was thinking. I never put water on my tools, just brush them off well, blowing with air if needed (or use shop vacuum to pull out loose debris) and then treat with silicone or WD40, or even light household oil. If need be I will disassemble certain tools (like a chainsaw) partially to remove dirt and debris.

    Might need one of these for my lawn truck for smaller jobs.... for a home owner this is 10x better than a gas unit because of how much sitting they do and better than 110v electric with 100 foot cords to potentially trip on or get tangled up

  • @wlouisharris
    @wlouisharris Před rokem +1

    It looks like they improved this trimmer. I have one from about 5 years ago and it only works on really thin bushes. I had to break out my chainsaw to do some major trimming on my lidgustrum. I'll take a look but I definitely need something between my current Ryobi and the chainsaw. Still the chainsaw took care of a bush in 30 seconds what it would take me 30 minutes to handle with my Ryobi.

      @@ScottsHonestReviews it looks like this is not the brushless model either. I may see if I can replace the blades. Or just replace altogether. Very frustrating to have it get stuck on very small branches. Ryobi has stepped it up with their tools.

    My original product review:
    Ryobi P2606VMN
    CORDLESS HEDGE TRIMMER
    I've only been able to use it twice.The battery charged and I used it with ok results. A little wimpy but what do you expect from a battery. Every time I've used it since (twice in 6 months) the bat is dead straight out of the charger. It has so far charged up and been usable, but I have to wait. In fact, that's why I have time to write a review...it and I aren't working.
    Nope. Charged overnight and never came back. Verified with a voltmeter.
    I have a blue, old style Ryobi cordless drill, table saw, table router and now this hedge trimmer which I've been able to use twice. What the bleep is wrong with your 18v l.i. battery system? I've used countless other tools without a hitch. Now that I really need something to work, it doesn't. Can't get an email through to Ryobi, just an automated response saying my email didn't go through.

    • @ScottsHonestReviews
      @ScottsHonestReviews  Před 3 lety +1

      Weird I love mine and never had a single issue it's the best trimmer I've ever had and I own 4

    • @aldonapolitano5979
      @aldonapolitano5979 Před 3 lety

      @@ScottsHonestReviews I'm happy for you. I DID list the other Ryobi tools I own. This charger/battery thing has annoyed me because trying to send an email to them is daunting. You seem to have an in with them so, if you have a link, let me know. Phone calls get diverted, denied and disregarded but an email lives forever.
      BTW, I would probably love mine, if it ran, but you can't do that on a dead battery, which has always been my problem with cordless.
