- Thanks for watching again. I hope this isn't blocked in some countries. One of the best right arm warm up songs for practicing. I've been using these riffs to warm up for years, I usually gave up before the intro was finished. I tried the RR5 and the Alexi for this cover but the AOD sounded better. Don't know why, the RR5 has the EMG 81-85's and they both have 10-52's.
As always, recorded through garageband using Amplitube Custom Shop and Roland FA-66 interface. Edited in Premiere CS6. Anyone wanting presets or questions answered feel free to email me Lambchopper678@me.com - Hudba

It dosent even sound like James down picks that hole part it sounds like some alternate picking in there.
I always thought Blackened and Creeping Death were the hardest cause of the down picking and I made the mistake of walking into playing this song thinking I could get through it cause it's only alternate picking. Fuck me I have to do Kirk's part at the intro just to give myself a break and that isn't enough. James is an alien. His stamina is out of this world

@@before120 it's just about refining your tone. When you play, look directly at your picking hand and after a little while, you'll get the tone and bite you want. Just an fyi, its nothing to do with amount of distortion. Good luck!
That arm killing riff is one of the most badass sounds I've ever heard before. It makes me think of marching into the battlefield with just a gun. That and the very beginning of No Remorse are my top two badass riffs \m/

this song is such an arm murderer. I start it off nicely, but halfway through the downpicking, my fucking arm locks up.
this song kills your right arm, i can do it but after its done i praise the heavens that my arm hasnt fallen off
Do it straight for an hour and I promise it will be easy. For some reason after a certain amount of time my right hand gets it and the muscles relax and I can then play really fast without tiring.
I find songs like this much easier to play standing up and the guitar pretty low, it's much easier to relax the arm when it's more straight and less bent. Just letting the wrist and the fingers do the job. It may be just me though, since I pretty much always have played standing.

at 1:22 , when they cut to C#, there are pull-offs from the 5th fret... same goes when it comes down to B (pull-offs from 3rd fret)... That's double-checked by me watching James and Kirk playing... check it out!

The riff after the solo is wrong also. There is a a Bend of the root notes
I realized that when playing Guitar Hero Metallica, that song had those pull-offs charted, but is so subtle that's hard to tell just by listening

One thing, in 1:22 riff, the second time you power chord C#, is actually a 5->4 pull-off in A string. You can hear it pretty clearly in the original track.

When i was in Highschool I went through a huge Metallica guitar phase, all I would do is play Killem All, RTL, and MoP. And jam on guitar, this song was definitely played multiple times, its definitely a good warm up. Solid cover dude 👌

@@atharvadeogirkar1926 Mop is not even in my top 50, it has some boring songs like the thing that should not be and damage inc. Every song drags on for too long like the song Mop repeats the verse chorus 2 times before the cool part and then after the solo they repeat the same verse and chorus again. Its so boring i cant stand it. That goes for every track on this album except sanitarium becaose that one does not repeat itself 1 milion times. Idk why people like Mop so much, RTL is sooooo much better. I would love to hear your opinion on the album and why you like it so much coase i never heard a real reason from anyone

Hell of a guitar cover!!! You got that chugging palm muted low E string down!!! I STILL to this day can't for the life of me figure out how to palm mute right....I think my main issues are first off I learned how to play guitar at 7yrs old on a right handed strat style body when I'm left handed so I flipped the guitar upside down and just learned how to play it that way....but then years n years later I finally realized I needed to get my strings reversed so it would be strung atleast like a left handed guitar....so I did that and had to re-learn practically everything from scratch but thankfully that was my best bet because with the strings the original way I first learned how to play I couldn't even do any power chords because my other fingers would get in the way.....but the other issue is I've learned from 7yrs old til basically now (I'm 29yrs old) is I learned to play guitar with my fingers instead of using a guitar pick....for some reason I can play wayy faster and especially with like finger picking chords when I use my hand but when I try to practice with a pick I end up hitting strings I don't want to hit and I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong to palm mute the strings because Metallica use that technique on a hell of Alot of their early stuff and I can't for the life of my figure it out but I keep practicing tho!!
You can palm mute on any string, if I understand your comment right being left handed playing a right handed guitar shouldn’t be a problem for palm muting. Can’t say so much for just playing in general if it’s strung wrong. Just look up some tutorials or have a look at some guitar players you know in person and practice
