Ive been listening to Metallica for at least 23 years , and I have to say that Master Of Puppets in my opinion is their greatest album they made. It still sounds Modern and kicks ass over most newly made metal today . I don't think it can ever be topped not even by Metallica.

Maybe cuz he doesn't have a bass. Maybe because it's also fun to play on guitar. Maybe for the sake of continuity. Me personally, I've never stopped just because it's a "bass" part. I play along with it.

okay guys do remember that this isn't the only song people cover that they play the bass riff on the guitar. They do the same thing with For Whom The Bell Tolls. They play the intro on guitar even though it is only a distorted bass. It is not that big of a deal that they play the guitar on bass. I think Cliff or whoever wrote this one would be very happy that the bass riffs can be transfered to different instruments. A cover in general is honor because it does mean that you are worth it.

CrilbusBowling Stew44 true, the only really hard parts (for fingers) is the bass lead in the intro, because that shit gets exhausting really quick, and the fast part of the solo. The rest is quite easy to play, but harder to learn

scott peterson He played it correctly, Cliff played the solo using the upper register of the bass (using the 14, 16 and 17 frets of the d and g strings. To match that octave on guitar you'd play on the lower register of the same strings (2, 4 and 5 on the d and g strings) which is being done here.
