I'm a huge fan of Ben and Camille as a real power team.
This is the only second trial I have ever watched from beginning-to-end. The first was the Ahmaud Arbery case. Ms. Linda, the case prosecutor, she was a compelling master class to watch.
And, conversely, the hubris of the three defense teams were mind boggling. The defense teams missed the root facts of the case and charged ahead in all the glory of their arrogance and assuredness...all the while not taking into their strategy of the actual judge presiding over the case.
Superior Judge Timothy Walmsley was a first for me...a balanced, respectable, master class unto himself.
In this case, Judge Penny, I respect immensely. She was intelligent, steady... along with Johnny's entire defense team, the people they worked with, and called to the stand. And, again, the hubris of Amber's defense team, the people they worked with, and who they called to the stand.

But because I watched it, I know Amber was punished for lying (or giving the perception of lying) and Johnny seemed honest and straightforward. I’ve learned from this case alone how often mainstream media lies.

I watched the OJ trial as a child, but don't remember much in procedure, this trial definitely did a much better job of laying out how the law works in trial cases, once you insert CZcams lawyers, it definitely laid out things that most people didn't know bout trial and how most aspects work.

    • @bordendonna
      @bordendonna Pƙed rokem

This trial was like the OJ trial in many ways. One of the distinguished lawtube followers even made an OJ joke about the sexual assault in this case....he said, "if the bottle fits" .....and the crowd just roared." You may not remember if you were a child during the OJ trial....."IF it doesn't fit you must acquit" about the planted glove. OJ had great lawyers and he wasn't a domestic abuser either. But funny thing happened, his violence struck again and then everybody just shut up.

No critique to Johnny's team. They all had so much class about them. Much critique to the other side. All the low blows they tried. I'm sure the Judge and the jury had much respect for Johnny's side. We all loved you Ben.

I thought that the Chew/Vasquez team, made it so much easier on the jury to understand. I found Amber's side (especially Elaine), to be very convoluted and much more complicated that it needed to be! When other's say, AH was outlawyered, that explains it perfectly! I just feel like JD's side really wanted the truth to come out. That's how I took it! I have been on juries 3 other times, and I watched it as if I were on the jury! The jury did the exact right thing and I really put myself in their shoes! Camille and Ben did a great job!!!! I also, very much appreciate how they treated Johnny and how serious they took it all! He was in very good hands! :)

In hindsight ( 2 months after the infamous verdict) even though, I knew absolutely nothing of A.H. ,I was hanging on to the facts that 2 people were putting their laundry out for viewers... Had this trial been in a news thread or radio station announcement, it would have been insignificant. Sorta like a weather bulletin.. Not sure if it was C-19 or the current administration in Washington D.C., ....hearing about Johnny Depp life was like reading a biography. Not what a journalist captures.. Love this segment of Ben & Camille being interviewed .. Thank you ===LAWYER YOU KNOW=== Mr. Pete Tregos.

C-19? I haven’t heard of that. I agree on all other accounts. It had to be hard for him to open up so much since he’s so private and an introvert
. I have more respect for him now. It also shows how trump innocent he believed to be which spoke volumes. I’d not heard of her and funny enough I remember watching Aquaman and the Mera character got on my nerves and rubbed me wrong. I had know idea she was married to JD! My gut was warnings me of her even in a different character! Lol After this trial though I absolutely detest her!! I wish MSM would be honest. Unfortunately
you can’t trust the MSM with anything
..too many narratives they want to push which ruin lives.

As a former paralegal, I have to say that you are one of my three favorite lawtubers (along with Law & Lumber and Runkle). Found your channel through Pete's weekly analysis of the Holmes trial last year.
I was rear-ended by a semi going at full speed while stopped at a red light in Fort Meade, FL, in early 2019. As best as could be determined, the driver was on his cell and never tried to stop. He took out five vehicles at the light, another crossing the intersection, and the tractor on his rig. No deaths or extremely serious injuries that required immediate hospitalization, thank God. Not being from FL, I had a terrible time finding an attorney in WV who would work a case in FL. I feel like my lawyer eventually got a pretty decent settlement from the semi's insurance, but I wish I had known about your firm at the time.

While on the stand, Herd referred to what she called her “BRUISE KIT”, then tried to clean up the terminology. There is a young lady on CZcams that demonstrated a product called a “BRUISE KIT” and how to CREATE A BRUISE with it. That’s EXACTLY what Herd used and ADMITTED TO THAT ON THE STAND. And the kit looks EXACTLY like the one Herd’s lawyer, Elaine, showed in court.

📌 Oh BTW, because of your rec, I watched Primal Fear on Tuesday and absolutely *loved* it. (I don’t know how in the world I wasn’t aware of its existence until your list came out, so thank you for that.) Although I kind of chuckled during some of the legally unrealistic courtroom scenes, those parts didn’t ruin it for me; I know it’s a Hollywood thing they do for added drama. I never got to tell the group that my all time favorite movie is Twelve Angry Men. The actors were the very best and it showed elements of human nature that are real.
Watching the Depp/Heard trial every single day, I was so impressed with the professionalism, integrity and talent of the Depp lawyers. In contrast, Heard could not have had a team of lawyers more the opposite of Depp's team of lawyers.
The two teams of lawyers, Depp's and Heard's, going head to head highlighted and made excruciatingly obvious the difference between the two teams of lawyers.
Having the TRUTH on their side didn't hurt the Depp team, either!!

I think they had a notion that social media would play a role, for JD. But their goal was not to persuade social media, their goal was to persuade the jury. As for AH's side, they spent too much time focused on social media, for instance...after the 10 day break, the first questions being asked of AH by EB, were all about what had happened on social media. If the jury, followed the rules and didn't look into SM (I believe they avoided trial stuff on SM, I don't know if they avoided SM all together) then some things made no sense. AH had her team chasing their tails trying the case on SM rather than talking to the jury.
