Many have whined that TG Mav is a "woke" movie because women aviators in the "box" seat. There are many airfares with female combat pilots, and quiet frankly, if someone flying a fighter jet is trying to fry my ass, I don't give a rats for their gender
On the final battle, his guns went with "033" rounds remaining before the final kill shot against the 5th gen fighter. THAT was a tribute to 33 years apart between TG movies. Also, if you watch the hand signals Maverick gave to the enemy pilot, there was a part there they did 0-3-3 as well.
From someone growing up the Navy in numerous f-14 tomcat squadronds as a jet mechanic to being in the Navy somewhat still but as a contractor 36 years later this movie seems to complete me. It brings back both joy and sadness from my navy days. Onto the next chapter of my life
The US Navy is glorious. My Uncle Lowell served on carriers in WW2 & Korea. What a man he was and TGM portrays the mental toughness of the Navy to perfection
For our generation who grew up and joined college (and dying to be a fighter pilot!) during the first TOP GUN Movie , this clip would truly have an emotional impact which later generation would never able to comprehend . Cheers from Malaysia.
" have an emotional impact which later generation would never able to comprehend" So a later generation will be stupid? Not as ambitious as you. Have no feelings? No dreams, not enthusiastic about aviation, hate flying. What do you mean? Your so special that your generation is better? Stay in Malaysia.
Man, I don’t know what it is about this movie: a great challenge, a great triumph; making amends for the past, and looking ahead to a brighter future - a future we all can have a hand in.
It hits a note in current culture, people want to feel wanted. So much blame and looking down on people these days, even if the world tells you they don’t want you nothing can bring you back like finding the place you belong.
I cannot being to explain how gorgeous this is. It was so well composed and had such an excellent application and timing of the shots. The "Distinguished, Distinguished, Distinguished" was great highlighting of some key points of who he is and how it is reduced on paper. And how you used Goose!! Him wanting to teach!! And the monologues!! It really connected everything perfectly and show us who Maverick is and how he thinks. Thank you so much for making this!!
Absolutely beautiful!!!! My uncle was an admiral the first commanding officer for TOPGUN here in San Diego, CA! This is an incredible video! Thank you! I am so grateful for this emotional video! You’re awesome !!! God bless you so much !!!!!!
Excellent mash-up from 1986-now just wow. This was already my favorite movie and then when I saw Maverick it just took me back and reminded me precisely why Tom is my favorite actor of all time. Jon Hamm is quickly becoming one of my favorites as well. Miles did an excellent job here.
Tom, these movies you've been making, someday soon they won't need actors at all. The end is inevitable, Tom. Your kind is headed for extinction. Maybe so, but not today.
@@yousifalezzi1198 "The Peter principle is a concept in management developed by Laurence J. Etc. For Mav, the best fighter pilot in the world, promoting him from Capt. to Admiral would have taken him out of the cockpit and put him behind a desk - like it did for Cyclone (Jon Hamm) Warlock (the Black admiral that was with Cyclone) and Iceman
Man, I so wanted a sequel, but so didn’t. If ya know what I mean?! So, so pleasantly surprised. Such a good, good film. Like a time machine back to my beloved 80s. The 80s: _Lived ‘em. Loved ‘em. Miss ‘em._
Chills! Not today! New motto. Maverick the man, the legend, the inspiration. And only to think that TC is five years older than I am, where even Ed Harris looks better than I do…
I did this exact same thing when I was leaving work one day as an ATC at Travis AFB. Even nodded to the pilot back-taxiing I got in trouble the next day lol
Today on a Teams call I joined, I said “Talk to me Goose” to one of my colleagues and they smiled, I had shared this video with them the other day and they knew what I meant. I now wait for the day I can say “Not today” just to prove that nothing is inevitable.
Maverick & Ice Man Started Out As Rivals! And Became Brothers 💯🤙🏾! Goose Still Talks To Him! And He Is Uncle To Rooster! And Hooked Back Up With Penny, The Admiral’s Daughter! 👏
What a fantastic movie! I was not in the military so have zero credibility in critiquing any military movie. None. But, this was a great movie. Maverick was just that, a maverick, like a lot of today’s youth, he rebelled like all of us did, but with one glaring distinction, he respected and showed deference to those that came before him. He respected his elders. Lesson learned, you can do both, rebel against what you feel is not right and show respect to those that came before you and possess differing viewpoints. Peace.
It reminded me of when I was working commercial nuclear security, and you had to learn to toggle the switch between, "everybody goes home," as a good guy. And, "this is a one way trip," as a badguy.
"pilots who need to sleep, eat, take a piss. Pilots that disobey orders." All that made them human. All that made it worthwhile. The love and the joy and the grief and the pain of being _human._ The mix of the dialogue and the most human scenes from both movies is a painful reminder that we're a species headed towards our own extinction. Not by any other species' doing, but by our own's.
Tom is one of the "Last Movie Stars". All he did was make a kick ass movie which is what stars are suppose to do.
U r absolutely rite!!!!!!!!!!

Yes!
Tom single-handedly saved the movie industry!
Damn straight man, this movie went hard
Hollywood won't admit It but Jerry Bruckeimer is laughing all the way to the bank and He Deserves It!
LOL. Why was Val Kilmer in it & not Kelly McGillis? The movie was stupid, egotistical, & lacked substance
FO!! Have you seen Kelly's most recent photo? Did you even watch the damn movie? You sound like a stupid egotistical THING!!
這是事實,Tom cruise,,救了好萊塢电影工業

The sign was 330

You mean 330
I love how it transitioned from “ I can’t leave my wingman” back then to now “how’s my wingman?” Nice mashup

I think more teens will aspire to join the air force after watching the show. Cheers from Singapore.

I cried when Rooster told Mav that no one would mourn him when he died
back in his mind he will mourn for Maverick.

Still today, Ed Harris is AWESOME. What a performance.
This is one of the best mashups for this movie I’ve seen yet. Well done and bravo!

This is the best fan mv so far
I have to agree with you and I have not even seen it yet.
This is the edit of two movies
Wow this was so touching, it's a love letter that ties both films together perfectly. Well done!
Tom Cruise accumished exactly what he wanted. Authentisity and reality, according to show buissiness.
I say again Tom, thankyou.
Every lines hits hard memories.
One of the Longest PTSD a fighter pilot endured.

That over lap of Maverick's voice over Jester at 2:11... picture perfect.
Yeah, he really is one of the best actors to grace the theaters and the world🤗🎉
Maverick found a way to avoid The Peter Principle & remain in his optimal role for an entire career. Bravo!!
What's the Peter principle, if I may ask

Ed Harris always plays the cool and evil colonel.
Agree! I love planes and pilots in green bags! Been married to one for 49 years🇺🇸
I’ve seen the movie 2x and ordered the movie, I still get chills. Just amazing. USN retired
Saw it 5
I was really hoping Ed Harris was gonna have a bigger role in this movie
A perfect homage to 2 brilliant films with beautiful music, wonderful
THIS IS AMAZINGLY WELL PUT TOGETHER
This is brilliant, beautifully made.
I absolutely loved the film and this sums up why!
I know!!
This is beautiful. Used to fly with my dad, he loved Top Gun. He would have loved Top Gun: Maverick.
Nice mashup, this movie shows how our imagination take us obove our mind... so thanks for it.
Brilliance! Exceptionally done. Maverick is an amazing film.
Whoever made this - they just put out their resume. This is better than the trailers.
I Like How Both Films Were Edited Together!
Lieutenant Pete Mitchell ( Maverick) Then Captain!
The Student Became The Teacher!
He Paid It Forward 👏💯!
