- Hello and welcome to Badger Workshop. BriMarc Tools & Machinery asked if I would like to try the Arbortech Ball Gouge and I said yes. I had a play with it making a spoon and carving a dish.
It is available here

That will definitely come in super handy in future projects, no doubt👌
Nice work, mate👍
Thank you Bill
I just got my arbortech sphere gouge ,cant wait
Have been lusting after one of these since Makers Central :)
It is fun. Add it to your Christmas list.
Got one of Arbortechs AllSaws. Hell of a piece of kit. They've got quite a range of accessories for grinders for carving and chiseling. Would love to have a go with some of them but can't justify spending the money on them just for a look-see just yet. This ball gouge looks fun.
I had to look up what that was. Looks a great bit of kit. The ball gouge is a fun tool to use. No use how it would fit into my daily work but fun.
Great tool Matt, great idea
Thank you
Great tool but at £86 it's hard to justify, the Mrs would have harsh words to say.
Think of all the things you could make for her.
That would've been handy for the "bowl without a lathe challenge"
nice job Matt
Chris Dunn first thing I thought too.
That was my first thought.
It would have been great. Maybe it will be on again next year
I really like both of those; the spoon is so cute and the growth rings in the bowl are gorgeous. Nice one Matt :-)
Thank you. I was pleased with how the rings looked.
Another great video 👍👍
Thank you very much
Nice job Matt 👍👍
Thank you Brian
Looks like a nice little to Matt. I love the bowl btw. 👍
Thank Jim. Sorry I bunt it.
@@Badgerworkshop Ha ha. I still need to do some tests burning wood finishes...
Thanks Matt, I downloaded the Brimarc catalogue. BobUK
Thank you Robert
Very cool projects. I'm still before my first spoon project. This could be the tool to help me do it tho :) thanks for sharing
Its a fun tool to use
Thanks for your video! Which bosch grinder was used in this video?
Cómo se llama ésta herramienta y dónde podría adquirirla saludos
good job man..
Thank you
Does the ball gouge come with the threaded adapter to allow screwing it onto the grinder?
it's going to make making spoons a lot faster. and the bowl will be a lot smoother
I make and sell around 500 utensils a yr. The. bowl takes for ever. until now
I love this and yrs the price a wee bit high but well worth the price
It sounds like a great tool for you
A closet arsonist? Didn't realise they were so controllable! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I think in out of the closet now. Its very easy to use
I bought one of these a while back and it is a great tool but boy does it make a mess. Made the mistake of using it on my bench and quickly covered all my tools with debris, took ages to clean up. Good to use outside. I took a bit longer to get used to the cutting and sometimes it dug in and ruined my work but practice makes perfect. Andy UK
Yes much better outside but fun to use
I like your table saw, how much you paid for it?
That certainly speeds up the process of making a bowl.
It really does
any chance of a review on your new planer thicknesser. great vid
Thank you. Very well spotted. Im making a video on putting it together and then I will do a review after I have had it a wile.
awesome look forward to it
Have you tried it on properly hard wood like acacia or oak.?
Everyone seems to use softwood
I used it on white oak and pecan, both were hardwoods
Perhaps Arbotech will add the disc cutter (or whatever they call it) in the future so you can use it on the outside of the spoon. Great project Matt 👍👍👍
Thank would speed it up.
Cutting round logs on a band saw like this is very dangerous look it up and be safe
Very neat. At first I’m thinking that it’ll take off on you as it’s a spinning blade, like a router, but this actually looks very stable.
It does not grab the wood at all. I thought it might be scary to use but its not at all.
Badger Workshop awesome! I’ll have to pick one up. Could be good for a #BWALC sometime.
I feel like it would have been a bit better video to do the spoon with only the ball gouge and band saw.
Thanks for the input
