A $30k car is at least a step towards affordable.
True!
Ultra hard mode 😂! This is the video I was about to make. Thank you Kaz!! I get the night off! I'll just post yours.
Haha. I wanna hear your take on it though 😃
No copying homework 😂
@@jamesengland7461 Hahaha. Agree to disagree James! 😜❤️
@@EVswithKaz my take is. Chris Farley's cousin finally gets it!
Excellent video.
Thank you very much!
My Kia soul was affordable when I got it ten years ago for $17k. That's still what I can afford today.
That’s awesome! The Kia Soul is a great car. Would you consider a used EV when it's time for a new(er) car? I personally can't afford a new EV these days. My last 2 were used and I've had a great experience with them.
@@EVswithKaz I would try to go EV by any means available, though I'm going to arrange my duckets as best I can to bring home my aptera as soon as possible. The returns just pencil out so much clearer.
We'll see...
Yup, we'll see. Maybe they'll do another 180 in a year.
I guess Gordon Murray's T25 / T27 was ahead of their time after all.
I still wonder what happened to that, as they were supposedly slated to enter production by some unnamed manufacturer.
The insanely small size would be perfect for personal transport, and could solve a lot of space issues as well.
Gordon Murray's T25/T27 were definitely ahead of their time! It’s a shame they didn’t make it to mass production. Maybe we’ll see more innovative designs like that in the future.
Many SUVs have become somewhat smaller over the last ten years, blurring the line between a hatchback and an SUV. Personally I prefer cars (and other tools) which focus intently on doing their job very well, instead of middle ground cars that try to do a little bit of everything. I drive a massive truck which I use to haul large, heavy items, and I look forward to getting my Aptera or another small EV should Aptera not get me a trike soon enough. I've always had a huge truck and a small efficiency car, so I think Ford's move into microEVs is a great thing and I hope they will make them very small and very affordable instead of trying to give them every bell and whistle just to seem silicone-corny. Silicorny?
Great points! It’s interesting how SUVs have evolved. Having a dedicated truck for heavy hauling and a small car for efficiency is a great balance. I did something similar back in the day. I had a Tundra for my music stuff and motorcycle for daily driving. Here's to hoping you can get a non-Silicorny EV in the near future!
I prefer vehicles that make sense. Such as smaller compact ones for 1 driver for just to/from work/school. Wish that the small kei trucks were allowed in the US. More and more states are banning them without much of a valid reason. 1 being safety, but then they allow far more unsafe vehicles on the roads. Makes no sense. The few people I know with a big pickup truck rarely ever actually use the bed of the truck and when they do, typically it is for just a few small items that could easily fit into another kind of vehicle.
EVs with smaller batteries just mean more stops to charge, but also quicker to full charge, when doing a trip.
The Aptera is a dream vehicle that I'm hoping comes out. Have money down on one. The one I'm getting is the launch 400-mile range battery, but that is far more than I'll need. My daily work commute is only 4-5 minutes, depending on traffic and the 1 light I pass through. That battery is way more than I'll need, but I am hoping to travel once I do have it. I keep saying that once I get my Aptera I'll do a road trip with it.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Smaller vehicles definitely have their advantages for daily commutes. It's great to hear you have a reservation for the Aptera-fellow reservation holder! I also opted for the 400-mile version, but not the launch edition. Hope you get to enjoy those adventures soon!
I wont be buying an EV on principle at this point. It wouldn't matter if Ford gave me the EV and paid me to drive it.
Everyone has their own reasons for their vehicle choices. If you ever have any questions about EVs from someone who's been driving them for a long time, feel free to reach out!
@@EVswithKaz I owned a Chevy Volt for 5 years. That car was so inconvenient and only lasted 110k miles. The idea of going full EV seems completely idiotic. I never plan to buy an EV.
@@spicywater123 Same here. Especially as they try to "force" us out of proper vehicles.
