thumbs up for badass 1-chord songs
It's not what you play, it's how you play it.
He's a new living guitarist icon!
+Black Skull Well said, but you knew that.......RESPECT
and this man got all the amazing feeling the song need
For real. you look up the tabs, and you think, "oh, this is doable." Then you watch him go into another dimension with his left hand ..at hyper-speed.
The fact he can use three fuzz pedals at once on this song and keep the tone from collapsing is a feat on its own
I know zero mud …I’m gettin there myself tho!
The best I've heard since I first heard Hendrix when I was 16 in 1969.
First Guitar center session worth watching in a while!
Saw Gary the other night. Can't begin to describe how badass he is live
Gary is getting up into Jimi's league quickly as an innovator, He's that level of alent
Seen the kid a few times as he has been this incredible journey. Humble and dedicated to his talent. GC needs to put the entire show back on Audience which includes the interviews. The last show I saw in Orlando we kick ass and got to hang with him afterwards.
Just so proud of this Young Man..................GCjr....Take the world and Preach Bro
apparently you have their attention
yes sir
Oh that FUZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!
Such an amazing artist!!! Love the style and sound!
he plays amazingly ......perfect
New future of the Blues and right on with it, go GC Jr.
Jesus this is good. Raw and powerful fuzzy blues. Love it!!
Absolute fire. True original rock sound!!
I absolutely love this song, but this rendition in my opinion is by far the best ..... Gary you are simply amazing !!!
best GC series performance so far. I loved that part at the end with the guitars syncing for that little double riff. Just a B.A. performer and band all around, Nice to see at least real music is trying to make a come back in our over saturated pop record label produced B.S. music industry.
Fantastic. Gary is the best.
this band is amazing! I like it
The solo 3:09 in is fantastic. This guy is a legend.
Anyone else think that riff sounds a little like Come Together?
Pearl Jam - first album- once it think it was called.
xwhite2020 yeah, it does sound a lot like that, now that you've mentioned it.
Not a complaint, its a sweet riff.
Is he saying "Numb" sounds like Pearl Jam or that Pearl Jam and Numb sound like Come Together lol xD
I think I'm saying that numb sounds halfway between the two, and I never even noticed any similarity between Once and Come Together until this song. I love that music works that way. haha
No....that riff sounds A LOT like Come Together
new fresh great music I love it
love the fuzz!
I love this song.
My fave Gary tune
Jesus fuck, taking lessons from the Sabbath book to take distortion and kick your ass with it. Great riff, great song!
Love that grungy sound
Amazing!
another Kick ass song from the pit of Soul indeed
Super cool session..
That kick and that bass and that rhythm guitar sound so fucking divine together
Grande Gary Clark Jr.!!!
Damn this is so moving, someone commented another dimesion. So true.
Killer groove! Im numb!! Oh yea im numb!!
Great live concert,enjoyed:)
i think i just got my confidence back
He absolutely nailed the tone on the guitar for this song. That whaling sound for that riff is bitchin.
HEAVY!!!!!
Love the Bee Bop ending.
Veri Nice very good
Numb es uno de los mejores temas de su álbum #BlakAndBlu y esta presentación está bastante sabrosa...
Le amo.
Hell Yes!
GCJ is definitely the best artist yall have had on the gc sessions.
Dustyn Leonard I'd say Gaslight Anthem has that title, but GCJ is definitely a close second ;)
Dustyn Leonard Buddy Guy was on here once I think, if so Gary isn't even anywhere remotely close.
FUZZTASTIC !!
so good :D
Tanta roba!
Gni da di assolo... :D
That fuzz is sooo fucking good
WOW
that was sick... this cat can rock
This track sounds so much like The Black Keys early stuff
come together !! . .
My favorite song to smoke out to😎
That's some kind of fuzzzzz right therrrr
How could anyone give a thumbs down?
This sounds solid with a little more level adjusting. I think she needs to be on top more
first time seeing him but damn his good ;o reminds me of black version of Joe Bonamassa ;D
nice come together
oh yeah baby!
That tone is unearthly
❤
that guitar riff sounds like the beatles song come together
Jimi hendrix of ourtime..
this makes my lip flair
THis stage is fuckin beautiful, gahhh
Tones for days
My whiskey buzz fits
Hello, what is the pick-up on the SG ?
Lol Jack-White-fuzz ENGAGE!!!
I don't play but my 12 year old son does and he loves Gary as do I. My boy can play Bright lights just like Gary and he wants to play this! please can someone recommend the pedal. We have the guitar and a blackstar Artist Amp Which sounds great. But can't get that sound with the pedals we have.
As Others have suggested the Octavia and Astrotone; however, I have those pedals and just found that the Roger Mayer Kuro Kage nails it
Jimi would have approved of this man.
FUZZ!!!!!!! Reminds me of Jimi!!!!
Come together...
2:32
Super Maximum Jumbo Distortion !
\,,|
:D
Come Together :D
and Born under a bad sing
not really
his epiphones are nice and all, but a gibson is too sexi period
Come together
swaggy
no
haha i know
Totally not the sound I was expecting from a epiphone casino
Uuuh what pedal is THAT
Needs more bass!!
Signal chain please, someone
does someone know what fuzz he is using?
I don't know but it sounds amazing
Typically he uses Fulltone Octa Fuzz. The mix in this video really pulled a lot of the bottom end tone out Usually the sound is more full than what we're hearing here. In any event Octa Fuzz.
fulltone octafuzz
he uses a Analogman Astro Tone fuzz and a Fulltone Octafuzz
Literally thought it was a Come Together mashup lol
When you find this after GCJr has done a version of Come Together for Justice L...
This song in open tuning?
Drop d
Oh wait i get the hype. Check it out a black man under 35 who doesnt rap. Its amazing!
bad ass mfkers lol
That sound only a big ole hollow body Gibson can make
Hendrix reincarnated in this guy
16 beliebers dont like this music
M
Fucking hell
"Hello, this is John Lennon from Heaven, asking my riff back!!!!"
And the black bluesmen that originally created said the same thing!
More like "Hello, this is John Lennon from Heaven, thanks for taking my riff and making it FREAKING BADASS!!!!"
+NoTalent367 the riff is very reminiscent of Come Together
John provide the elixir for Gary to make it 😎
Uhm... well... it was... it was Paul McCartney's bass riff. So he's the one who... actually... Paul McCartney isn't dead... Yeah.
I guess if you have to pinch a riff it may as well be from the Beatles....
sounds like daytripper the beatles
OverDrive+Fuzz+Distortion+Metal= Doideira!!! -_-#
achei q era só eu de br aqui
Somos 2 Man, Tamo Junto!!! "I'm Northeastern"
sou de Santos - SP ,é bom ver que funk e axe nao sao tudo nesse "otimo" pais
Let me preface this with the fact that I love Gary Clark Jr.
BUT ---
Every live version of this song SUCKS compared to the album version and I'm pretty sure I know why:
1. It's always too fast. (Which as a performer I get, it happens)
2. the drummer plays a totally different groove.
On the album it's a simple, slow backbeat with a simple, mostly closed 8th note high-hat.
Live, he does like a Indian war dance groove on the toms while lightly trashing the ride.
The problem is that the first groove gets the song going and keeps it going smooth and steady. It makes you tap you feet because it emphasizes the strong beats in the measure (2 & 4). The second groove slams in on the weak beats: the first ¼ and ⅛ notes if the measure respectively.
For me, it kills the song.
Oh yeah, and another thing: Zapata's tone always sounds like he's playing in a little tin box and has NO sustain.
Anyway, those are my thoughts, my opinion.
Take 'em or leave 'em.
Imma leave 'em. These reasons are exactly why I prefer most live versions to the studio version.
