You gonna; know his name and he doesn't even "rap" that name 20 times as so many do, ciao now
No body notice the fact that at 3:30 the guy in the Yellow tshirts was supposed to play his solo but due to technical difficulty there was no sound and he says it in Gary's ear and Gary improvises for the rest of the song ,LIVE, mind-blowing
Welcome to the future of blues, I only discovered him 2 years ago and so glad I did unfortunately with the current restrictions not likely to see him play anytime soon.

What people don't know was there was a technical problem.. The P.A. dropped sound so they couldn't hear right. He extended the intro of the song til the sound kicked in on the other guitarist amp... then it came back on. You can see the yellow shirt guy make a face like wtf at the beginning and then works it out. Clark held the song together like glue and extended the intro and improved the leads. At some point They came back on. Also that second lead was improved and extended when the crowd lost it.. That's some balls right there keeping your shit together when things are going wrong and steps up and owns it like a boss that he is. Clapton wrote a note to him saying thank you. I remember Gary Clark jr, his parents and my family went to the same church.,Austin Tx. I also remember when he played downtown Austin on 6th street..Gary Jr .know how to play that Guitar!! I also loved him in the movie "Honeydripper".

"brand shit" lol If you go with a brand like Ray-Ban, you buy quality and glasses that actually protect your eyes, unlike the ones at Walmart. They will last you a lifetime if you take care of them properly. I use Aviators that are around 30 years old, I just had to change the nose pads 10 years ago because I lost one somehow. I agree that a brand name is not a guarantee of quality, but for some brands it is.
I was watching Clapton's Crossroads Fest on TV, and was getting bored. Until Gary came on the TV. Holy... who's that?! OMG, he's wonderful. So happy to hear the Blues is still alive.

+chad singleton hey could you elaborate? I am in the early stages of learning guitar and to me it obviously looks like he is basically as good as you get. By technical skill are you referring to the solo/riffs he plays, are they considered simple?
+dudemanismadcool he means like he's kinda anchored into the minor pentatonic scale which is the first thing most people learn (towards soloing) like he's not doing some crazy stuff like Clapton where he jumps all over the neck and merges scales and triads. He kinda hangs out in one shape for the most part.
Jacob Huddleston ah I get ya thanks for the explanation, what is your opinion on John Mayer? I know he is very good but would you consider him a technical master of guitar? Will have to check out some Clapton.
+dudemanismadcool John Mayer is one of the better guitarists of the modern generation. #GARYCLARKJR #BRIGHTLIGHTS Gary is outstanding. He speaks with his guitar. What an extraordinary performance by this young guitarist. It was obvious from the beginning that he was a rare talent. This performance is a true gem 😄👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🎸🎷🥁🪘🎹🎸💖💚❤️❤️🧡💜💙🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🇨🇱
Gary Clark Jr is off the hook, his concert at Lollapalooza was over the top and soo jammed. This guy arrived awhile ago! Welcome you all who are new to him! Glad you finally found him. Trying to get tix to a concert in May, barely any tic left at Red Rocks in Colorado!
I've listened to this dozens of times and I'm nowhere near tired of it. This is just a piece of smokin' guitar. As for all the comparisons....who gives a shit who some person you've never met compares Gary Clark to someone like Hendrix.Or SRV, or whoever. Just appreciate GC Jr for who he is and how he plays.

Saw him live... I've been to quite a few concerts in my time and Gary is one of the few artist that I've completely gone out of my body while listening to someone play live.
One of the GREATEST "LIVE" recordings......ever..... YOU caught Lightening in a bottle Gary. And Doyle just has that missing ingredient, and the dual drummers..........BRILLIANT!!!!!!
Check out some of the background notes put out by Doyle Bramhall II, (in the yellow T.) He has also backed up Clapton, and deserves greater recognition.
This live performance of Bright lights is for me the best one from far!!! All the band is making an outstanding musical performance, each one of them are pure talents, thanks to you all guys!!! 👏👏👏
#GARYCLARKJR #BRIGHTLIGHTS You say alot with your guitar. And, I like everything you are saying. You are a brilliant guitarist young man. A true pleasure to listen to. Jam on brother from another mother !!! 😄👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🎸🎷🎺🎹🥁🎸💚🧡🧡💖💙❤️💜🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🇨🇱
Still here. This song is why I love the blues: none of the parts are complicated, but all of them are important, and if you aren't doing them right all at once, it doesn't work. But when it DOES work, you just drill directly to the brainstem and stick in there forever.
I've been in love with guitars and the playing of them for over 50 years. I can play most anything I hear, and that's a bunch. Gary blows me away kinda like Terry Kath of Chicago. Just scratch your head and enjoy the sound because you will not figure it out.
I've discovered this guy in 2024 and he is instantly one of my favorites. Where the fuck have i been?

Great analysis! ...The one chord wrapped in road-base with speed bumps covered in velvet. Building and falling intensity. If music teachers want to get kids into music of all genres, this should be one of the pieces they turn the kids onto. He's straight, cool and genuine ... looking forward to seeing him age over the years
Cathy Campbell I so agree....
Smooth
There are chord changes throughout the entire song
Can't wait to see him in a few months at Beak & Skiff in Lafayette, NY. This dude is awesome
Probably the most underrated musician in recent time! True heart and soul!
Gary Clark Jr is the epitome of American music!
The people disliking this are the same ones buying all the pasta and toilet roll in 2020.
👏🤣👏🔥

I found this a little generic but I'm still going to check out more of his stuff to make up my mind. Didn't dislike this and also didn't hoard TP and pasta so yeah there must be a connection. lol!
Amen!
This performance and the John Mayer trio's performance of ain't no sunshine at the same festival are my two favorite live performances of all time.
100% agree
Going to see him in Connecticut at Sound on Sound festival
My sister just turned me on to this song... man o man! What a jam.. not to mention Gary Clark Jr is frickin beautiful.. what a voice!!!
I've listened to this dozens of times and I'm nowhere near tired of it. This is just a piece of smokin' guitar. As for all the comparisons....who gives a shit who some person you've never met compares Gary Clark to someone like Hendrix.Or SRV, or whoever. Just appreciate GC Jr for who he is and how he plays.
love you brother
I know this is late lmao but I couldn't have said it better
Omg Me!
That's straight up Bob Kaufman. I like a lot of different musicians and I don't really care really at all, what anybody else thinks about them.
To each his own. he does Clark very well.

Saw him live... I've been to quite a few concerts in my time and Gary is one of the few artist that I've completely gone out of my body while listening to someone play live.
Me toi
Same
Good thing he wasn't dead
the crowd in his glasses was a great shot
Holy smokes , that's a sound that grabs your spine .
I love this riff. So heavy, just the right amount of crunch, and then the fuzz licks interspersed...
Pls Translate your Slang☺
Gary and his band are underrated big time he has alot of good music. Love thier style it has a little bit of everything in it
Got to see him as an opening act for Lauryn Hill, loved his performance more than hers 😂😂❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

One of the GREATEST "LIVE" recordings......ever..... YOU caught Lightening in a bottle Gary. And Doyle just has that missing ingredient, and the dual drummers..........BRILLIANT!!!!!!
This man is incredible. I just learned his name the other day and I'm making it my mission to make a few others know his name
It's great to see the brothers rocking again.
They never stopped bro
@@BirrDetonator1989 your write but too much rap and not enough soul spiritual like blues, jazz, rock.
Check out some of the background notes put out by Doyle Bramhall II, (in the yellow T.) He has also backed up Clapton, and deserves greater recognition.
Dude, the way they ended that song was so perfect, and not on the usual place most bands try to end a blues song, at least to what it sounded like.
WOW, there still is hope for hearing music that is literally levels above the mainstream, corporate crap thats repeated over, over...
Was asked my favorites songs ever..
Jeez..
This song would be top ten...ever!
Merci CrossroadsGuitar via Gaey Clark Jr 💖🎼
This live performance of Bright lights is for me the best one from far!!! All the band is making an outstanding musical performance, each one of them are pure talents, thanks to you all guys!!! 👏👏👏
Having Doyle Bramhall II in the line-up doesn't hurt either. Another great player
I keep coming back for this again and again.
I do to

cornel west and joe rogan brought me here, and had a great time
me too :D
same loved it, never heard of him
Same same
you are not alone
same
The entire song is almost just one chord the whole time... this is incredible. Let it go to your head, Gary🤩
