This might be the perfect do-everything car. I'm amazed the RAV4 sells so well when it feels like a tin can inside and handles like a bowl of jelly. I literally felt unsafe driving my sister's RAV4 because the steering was uncomfortably uncommunicative, and the throttle and brakes were ridiculously spongy. This tried-and-true, extremely efficient powertrain, combined with Mazda's expertise in interior design, handling, and NVH mitigation makes this a much better option if you're not just looking for another soulless appliance on wheels.

A study was done on vehicle delivery charges and found they are just a way to indirectly increase MSRP nowadays.
Ford laughed at everyone with their '20k' Maverick with their $1.5k delivery fee and it's built in the Mexico border.
The CX-50 is built in Alabama and they're charging $1.4k that's sad. They add an additional $1k of the true delivery fee.
My 3rd gen Mazda 3 had a $700 delivery fee and it was literally shipped all the way from Japan.
Ford and Setllantis were the biggest delivery fee scammers and now Mazda has joined them, shame on them.
"The conclusion of many consumer advocates is that inflating destination fees is just a way for automakers to boost the bottom line without officially raising prices. “There is no reason why destination charges are not incorporated into the cost of the vehicle,” Gillis says, “except that it enables the manufacturer to charge more."

  • @GranTigerGaming

I drive a LOT for personal and work, my CX-5 averages about 28 MPG on long road trips, and about 18 MPG for local errands on streets. I think I would save a lot more than 50 bucks a month getting about 38 MPG in both cases, that estimate seems overly conservative. The CX-50 hybrid is so tempting with better MPG, that huge moonroof, slightly bigger trunk cargo, better ground clearance, and similar Mazda goodness, but I also already love my CX-5 with AWD, actual fog lights (which also help with extra light at night), love the wheel designs, roomier cabin, etc. Will probably wait to see what they do with the 2026 CX-5 hybrid before choosing which way to go in the future.

I'm pretty sure if it's using the Toyota Hybrid System, it's most likely using their rear suspension as well because the rear motor connects to rear axle/ suspension.
