    As I get older, the allure of a 200 mph, plus hypercar, doesn't thrill me like the 600LT. So given the choice, I would choose a McLaren, Lamborghini or Porsche, over any hypercar...Unless someone were to give me one. HAHA! Great video Pete!

    I like the exhausts on the 600 with the Porsche 918 style exhausts. Very stylish. Though I still wonder just how much rainwater would get down there in a real heavy downpour if the car was parked up somewhere :-\...
    However, for me, those bucket seats would make it a big no no. 30 years ago, maybe!!
    I thought it was funny, when you were sat in the traffic, the amount of other drivers who just stared at the 570. Looks like you enjoyed your short foray in it though :-))...

  • @stubones
    @stubones Před 5 lety +7

    I respectfully disagree that the 600LT is the best Mclaren or that it’s the best bang for buck in the range. With a few options it’s price goes squarely into 720S territory and I know I’d rather have that real world near 800hp and daily drivability and comfort of that car. The 720S is practically the perfect supercar. It’s in gear performance is a match for the 918 spyder at a fraction of the price.

    • @PetrolPed

      675LT is the car to have. Its the McLaren sweetspot. Outstanding LIMITED car that's gone from £100k over list price to £50k under in the last 9 months. Got to be the biggest bang for your buck along with a used 720S at £200k if that look and GT cruiser style floats your boat more than the rawer more exciting LT experience but in reality the 720S still isn't anywhere near as good or as much fun as the 675LT. And sadly the 720S is FUGLY

    I've only seen one McLaren out in the wild, and I was shocked how much better it looked in the flesh than in photos and videos. I think it's one of those cars that don't show their best side in pictures. One thing from your video that made me wonder was - with those 2 exhausts blowing flames if driven "eagerly", they looked like they'd BBQ the rear wing. If I point this fault out to McLaren do you think they'd give me free motor as a reward? ;-)

    • @PetrolPed

    Don't want to be pedantic but the 600LT is NOT limited to 500/500. Production is not a finite number but determined by a timeframe. make no mistake McLaren will make as many of them as they can and given order books are strong I'm expecting 800 coupes and 1200 spiders. Biggest bang for your buck is a LIMITED 500/500 675LT which has gone from £100k over list price to £50 k under now. Funny as the car hasn't got any worse in the last 9 months

      Don't worry its not the first or only bit of mis information on the internet. Had to pull you up for it as it was the main fact of not being limited that I cancelled my 2 600LT orders and bought a 675LT spider instead. Forget which is the better car ( personally I still think its the older SUPER series 675LT with active aero and hydraulic suspension ) but now at similar money simple supply and demand will mean the 675LT will be the better financial proposition. Early 600LTs made trade for a reasonable profit but once the hype has died down they will be under list as more people offload. I wonder if the 750LT will follow the same suit of not being a limited finite number leaving the original and best 675LT as the only truly LIMITED LT car

    *Question* Do you remember a period in the late noughties when Ferrari were terrible in F1 but were making incredible road cars. Do you think the same thing in happening at McLaren?
    In a nutshell, is the company running the F1 team on a shoe string to keep their fans happy and for filling contracts whilst the real big budget and focus is on road car development?
    Also, why wouldn’t they develop their own F1 engine?

    Dear guys, youtubers, publishers, when you begin to understand, that is is much MORE interesting to watch the driving from the car view (inside the car) - like the watching man is driving (like in POV video). And it is not interesing to watch the author's face. Yes, we can look at your face in the beginning, when you introduce the car. But not while driving. For me it would be nicer to enjoy the car, but not the talking face.

      I use POV or front mounted cameras whenever I can. Talking to and engaging with the audience is also important so I try and strike a balance. The one challenge with POV footage is that even if you go just 1mph over the speed limit you can't use it. As you can imagine, a tricky issue sometimes !
