Yo that’s looks rly good. Better than the shop that did mine and I paid big money.
Yes ive heaed the story many time if rim shops charging 100 dollars per rim to make them look subpar
Ima try do this myself
Honestly I was so mad at myself about mine… I feel better lol
One of the most thorough, detailed, and easy to follow videos posted on this topic. Excellent video, thanks.
“Little bit of curb rash.” Me: *feels much better about the amount I inflicted*
Yeah this was pretty serious curb rash lol
Only reason im here is to feel better🙄🙄😒
👍🏼 yes
Seriously. I've seen a few videos. I was gonna start searching "serious scuffs or curb marks" but the videos are worse than mine
Facts lol
Probably the best DIY video I have ever seen. For me, your decision to "speed up" the recording during the mundane processes, absolutely genius. Most do not and thats when viewers get impatient and move on. Keep up the good work. 5 STARS.
Appreciate that brother!!!

Put your rattle can into a bucket of really hot water for 3-5 minutes before spraying. This gets the pressure up in the can so it atomizes better ( less orange peel )
Man, that makes total sense, I will be trying that. Nice tip (just not boiling tho a lol )
This looks great! Definitely helpful. I have a few scratches on my rims that need to be cleaned up so I am going to use this video as a reference. Thanks alot.
Nice repair tutorial. I’ll be using these tips real soon dealing with my curb rash. Cheers 👍😎🇦🇺
Definitely using your method. The easiest one I've seen.
Hell yeah man, great pointers!! I followed this and my wheels came out great👍🏽🔥
Awesome man! Glad I could hlep!!
Hey bud just found your channel, great job man I love how all the materials you use are easily attainable and the videos are super straight forward (the intro is dope haha) keep it up and the best of look sending good vibes your way
Awsome man I just did the same thing with a center cap that fell off while driving! I wish I made a video this thing was crushed and it's turned out mint! Keep making awsome videos
I thought you had over a million subscribers from the quality of your video. Then I saw it was only 413. My mind was blown. You are gonna grow so so fast
Yo that means alot! I feel like my new videos quality has substantially gotten better. The whole reason I made a channel because ive seen far too many diy videos that are just awful lol. Only top knotch stuff coming from me. When I hit 1m subs remind me that you were in the first 500 and I'll send you free merch or something hahah
@@BuddysDIY haha I definitely will man. Keep posting videos like that and you'll be there within a couple years🙏

Awesome stuff! Let me know how it comes out brother!
Gave me inspiration to do my wheels man appreciate it a lot 🙏
Hey, good advice. I really wanted to buy some alloys for my 1 series, but where I am in Russia all the wheels are curbed. So now this video will give me the confidence to repair a set. Keep up the good work. Matt
Thank you for the support! Stay tubed alot more great vids to come!
Bro....that's freaking A-1 craftsmanship right there hands down, that wheel looks brand new 👍
Got a new sub just now. Scratched 3 of my rims! You gave ya boy the courage
Just had a dude swerve into my lane causing me to curb rash my wheel on my truck so this video is huge help. Thanks bro
Thanks for the vid. I'm picking up some Fiesta ST wheels soon that have plenty of curb rash
Solid stuff, great video! I will be doing the same thing here today.
Watched through the 3 videos of yours on this subject and, greatly explained...
Awesome video bro!! Today i took my genesis out because my winter beater is down atm and i slid into a curb going about 10mph luckily the wheel was the only thing that seems damaged rn
Been searching all over tryna find videos and great way of breaking everything down. Gonna definitely try this out on my own
Absolutely man. I'm glad I can help. Let me know how it comes out!
How did it turn out
Great video! I just got curb rash on my new Silverado with gloss painted rims. I was super bummed but after watching your video, I feel much better and gonna try to fix it myself. Thanks!
Bro i have a 80k dollar denali with black gloss rims...i scratched the fuck out of mine and used this method...you literally cant tell where i did it at..
My man!💪
@@summondominionI got gloss black on my new car too. I didn’t scratch it a lot but I’m wondering if the semi gloss is gonna look obvious with the gloss around it. How did yours come out and did you use this exact paint?
Yup, about to try this with my wheels
Let me know how it comes out. Be sure to use that primer, its sandable and ensures a clean finish 💪
Thank you..this was very detailed for me so that I am able to do some of my own rems.much appreciated bro.
Can’t wait to do this and share the progress in the comments 🙏🏽
Are you repainting the whole wheel or just the sanded/primed part? It looks like you are painting just the affected area. When spraying that specific area does it not matter that some spray might get on the unaffected part of the wheel?
Looked great after the second coat dried, wish we could have seen the final dried result! Thanks for the video!
Love your upload man keep it up
Very helpful video. I just ran over the curb driving my brand new, month-old BMW X3. (so embarrassing) Thanks for this video very helpful. Hopefully, it works on my car.
Glad to have been able to help!!
Nice detailed video! I like the semi gloss finish! Looks great!!!
Appreciate it! I agree. The semi gloss is the way to go!
Great video always learning on this channel!
That's the goal!
Wow this was amazing 🤩 nice work!
You are a genius. Thank you
My local tire shop doesn't charge for pulling the tires off at all, pretty sweet. Also don't charge to mount, balance, or rotate tires
not really good with paint but man you made made yours look amazing. I think you covered all bases on this, really gives me the confidence to try this oout
This is great! Thank you for this video!!
You should use a sanding block when sanding the filler. You get it nice and straight that way.
Looks great man.
You got a new suscriber
i had some slight curb rash on my rims and did it with the wheel on the tire still. 180 grit, 400 grit, and 2000 grit. then cleaned with alcohol and just painted with flat black rustoleum. we'll see how it holds up but I barely sanded off any of the rim so I think its good on being balanced
Good stuff man. If the rash is mild you may not even need Bondo.
Awesome restoration 👍👍
Damn bro, that came out dope🔥👌 thanks for the vid it's gunna help me alot 🙏
Im going to try this on my rims, I feel like your video is quick and to the point. Thanks
100% straight to the point videos is the goal for the channel!!
Love it. I had a good idea of how to fix mine but your video was great thx
About to try my crack at this once the sun pops out. Have all the needed crap. Cheers thanks for the video
Yeah brother not a problem. Good luck !
awesome buddy. your a genius and it looks good as new. thank you
Love to hear it man! Thanks for the support!!
i thought that mine were ruined! super cool video
Thank you paige!
Thanks bredda! Life saver
Definitely helpful thank you
Great job man! Motivation!!!!!!!
Great video awesome explanation an detail an that rem looks good thanks for this a lot I subscribed you saved me a ton can't believe prices shop charge for a finger length scratch
Perfect bro. I would just put tape anywhere i dont want to get filler. Still looks great though !
nice job dude!
Nice result 👍🏼
Great vid bro!!!!
Thanks
Awesome job!!
My rim isn't painted so idk if this will work but this was really good work!
Great job!
Do you have to paint the entire rim if the road rash area is a small part covering less than 5 inches in length? Can you use this method and spot correct and try to blend existing paint to new paint?
This happened o me. Both my right rims are mate black but now have bad curve rash that expose the silver metal from hitting a curve. I was tempted to just drop some money saved and just get two more rims but a repair should be cheaper.
your awesome man super helpful
wow this video is great looks great!!
Damn.....that was really good🔥🔥🔥
Appreciate that boss
Amazing video helped me so much
Cool man! Glad I could help!
Really good thanks bro
10/10 would recommend sir.
We probably need to get our wheels balanced again after this job, for the sake of safety and efficiency.
Any wheel, tire, suspension, or steering work should have an alignment done.
So I just successfully did this and love the result so far. I’m putting the wheels on the tires before painting and my wheels had a fair amount of rash. I’m worried that the Bondo will chip when they’re putting the tires on. Any issues for you!
Bondo is some strong stuff. In sure you wont have an issue. Did you see my orginal how to paint your rims video? Its in the description. If you follow that method I promise the edged of the rim wont get messed up when you out new tires. Ive swapped my tires twoce on my bmw and the edges have zero sign of wear!
When they put tires on, if you look closely, the machine first breaks the tire bead (shouldn't touch rim at all), then a longer metal arm uses leverage to get the bead over another metal part which takes the tire off. No part of the machine should ever touch the rim- ideally. You just have to make sure the operator doesn't rush. The machines are designed to work on $5k rims the same as $50 rims. It's more about the operator and the care that is taken. As extra insurance, you can simply mark the area with the filler with two pieces of blue painters tape to outline the boundary. Ask the installer to try to avoid that area. A wheel balance will be in order since filler is lighter (less dense) than the metal it attempts to replace. Bottom line- if care is taken, it should be fine.
Dude you saved my life
Valuable information be careful where you park your car you don’t want curb rashes
Great job! U make a very intimidating Job look really easy man.
Appreciate it my man! You gonna give it a shot???
It's good. Done with tools available at home
Excellent job! Any tutorial for fixing curb rash on two tone rim?
Sunsets, smog, and dusty windshield got the best of me, and I made way too wide of a turn, my embarrassed ass self ended up smacking the sidewalk with my front passenger rim, a little shorter, but just as aggressive as your specimen here. Sad part is, I just got these wheels like a week ago LMAO. I appreciate this walkthrough, bro. Will have to give it a try. Looks good!
Hahahha jeez man. A week?! That thud when you hit the crub probably hurt your soul 🤣
@@BuddysDIY Bro, ngl, I wanted to die. Intersection was also busy, too, so the embarrassment had me hurt 2x more lmao.
That is really a good job. I have some of this nasty curb rash on two of my rims. I’ll have to take time off to do these to mine
Let me know how it comes out!
Nice work
Amazing!!!!! Just bought a Cadillac SRX at a decent price and the rims could use a little touchup. I can’t wait to try it. The rims on my Escalade are aftermarket and the chrome is peeling, what can I use to fix this?
Love this ty
Hands up 🙌🙌 and subscribed 👏👏👏👍👍👍💪💪💪👌👌👌
I got this in one wheel but I don't think I'll do it untill near next tire replacement 😅 if I have the desire for wrenching, painting, whatever all car stuff, cause some time you have lot of free time but you feel desire to rest need for rest from work just sit and watch TV, drinking tea with ginger 😂😂😂
I feel your pain lol trust me
Nice video however I would like to see some close ups of the before and after.
Thank you!
this video deserves a sub and like!
I didn’t even know you could fix that on your wheel!
Yeah! Glad you enjoyed the video!
What did you activate the bondo? & great video ! Definitely helped out! Ima have to try to do this on my wheel before i get them powder coated again
From the looks of the content in the can he used Duraglass , it’s not bondo it Angel hair fiberglass in a fiberglass paste , if it was me I would of followed it up with Bondo after the duraglass for a finer finish.. but that’s just me..
Great job
Thanks!!
Great Vid!!
Very informative, awesome tutorial!!!
Just got a decent rash on one of my wheels recently and think I’ll use this method. Just wondering, would this trim and bumper paint work well on satin black wheels?
love this! buuuuuuut im to lazy to do this myself
Hell Yeahhhhh!!!!! Gonna do mine
4 days driving my brand new car and hit a curb because a driver in front slammed on breaks and I swerved to the side . I’m so pissed .
Lol it happens. Go ahead and try what I show in the video!
Great video buddy!!! Cant wait to try that. Only one thing concerns me is the overspray. Can u reflect a lil bit on that buddy? Thanks
Looks good 👍🏻
Taking the 'scary' out of DIY 👏
👍 from 🇮🇪....
impressive!
Stir the filler before u dip it
