CURRENT SCHEDULE
Expect a new video every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday at 11AM Central!
How Farms Work by Ryan Kuster is a CZcams channel based in rural Potosi, Wisconsin. Our mission is to teach those who didn't grow up on a farm what the farming life is like. These videos show the Kuster family working together raising cattle and crops. We believe everyone who wants to know more about farming should be able to share the farming experience with us and we look to educate the world on many essential agriculture topics.
How Farms Work takes place on ~1,100 acres with around 75-200 cattle at any given time. Four John Deere tractors are currently used on the farm, which are a 4020, 4640, 7600, and 8235R.
The lawn mower idea was brilliant!!! It’s not stupid if it works even if it may look like it 😂
It’s stupid because the row cleaners on the planter would have pushed the piles right out of the way. That’s literally what they’re made to do.
Ryan on the lawn mower "WE'RE FARMIN'! I LOVE IT"
The four legged help you have is wonderful. He just wanted to make sure the seed was in deep enough for his standards.
Again this is why it's worth the money to have a nice heated shop in the midwest!! Ypu guys couldve been working on it all winter instead of having to wait for warm weather. Its worth the money
I did not think the lawn mower was going to work but that was definitely fun to watch along with the new planter set up
Hey Ryan!! Nice to see the 79 in the field.
That's a clean 7920! That planter was made for that tractor. Good looking Rig
Amazing video!😍😍 the 79 on that planter is like it was made for eachother🤩🤩. Hahahahahahha nice one with the lawnmower🤣
Definitely interesting detail on what it takes to set up the planter and problem solving.
Nice save on the fan. Glad to see you guys getting going
🚜🚜🦝🦝 Another good video Ryan, bless you and your family, good to see those seeds going in the ground!🚜🚜🦝🦝
It's awesome to see that planting setup in the field!😁💪 the 7920 is such a great tractor😉👍
Hoping for a good planting season👍👍
Great video and awesome drone footage Ryan. The 79 looks great pulling the planter👍
Great idea using the lawnmower for the hay clumps. Good catch with the blower fan, that could've been bad.
True that! Sometimes makes me wonder that being in a cab with the air on, tunes on and whatever else on, one doesn't become aware of something going bad by the sound it makes before it destroys itself and then a sensor catches it!
the 7920 and 1760 are a great combination!:) Love watching it.:)
Necessity is the mother of invention.
Good video Ryan great drone footage as always!! Good luck on planting 2023!!!
Ryan makes youtube videos like cinematic documentaries.
Glad it’s up and going! Congratulations on 300K also.
Love the drone shots and the music. Good luck on a bodacious yield this year!
That’s one good looking John deere Ryan. Great video glad to see seed going in the ground
Tractor looks perfect for that planter
Honestly I feel bad for that lady cuz when she tells people what she saw they probably think she's crazy lol
Happy First Day of Planting! Wooooo!
Great work Everybody, very nice set up that, keep her lit💯👌👍🙏🙂
Another great video! Thanks.
Ryan your having way to much fun with the blender
Hi Ryan everyone from northwest Missouri very Smart it is grass so it stands to reason it would as long as there's not a rock in it 😂
Taking care of my friend who just had an operation so this video was a welcome diversion...!!! I even put on my "How Farms Work" ball cap to feel official!!!...lol...! I glean so much info from your vid's about farming and am sort of planning on heading out to Minn. in the near future to visit relatives...any plans for another "Farm Day?"...Thanx...
Love the set up
Great video keep them coming please
I love the idea of the mower 🤣. Silly Rocket 😄
We have a dixie chopper mower that looks almost exactly like that and I run all kinds of things over with that thing. I knew those clumps of hay wouldn't be nothing.
Neat setup !
You got a nice setup
awsome video ryan thumbs up and shared
The old man is in love!!!
Hey Ryan that was nice to use the mower for the hey you should Be wearing Hearing protection.
The new tractor and planter setup look good. The planter is a little on the point. The hitch could be higher.
Now that's using every piece of equipment on the farm
Saludos compa how farms work feliz domingo
Have a great spring.
Nice faNice drone shots.mily.
Good stuff
You know why I'm people's going to take you out of your mind taking the lawn mower and going out more your field that's funny but it works have a great day👍👍👍🚜😄
thank you
Good to see the new investments paying off. Very little hair on fire, on camera that is. A tech that goes until he gets it right. You have a good one!
We put a lot of hours on a 7920. Good machine. Are you planning to place any form of liquid fertiliser with the planter?
God Bless the farmers
that flipping dog just makes me SMILE !!! LOL
wow tough lawnmower. Did any one read the owners manual on the planter? I am bad about not reading the manuals. Keep up the good work team!
Good thing that mower is fast.
Have you head of the NEXAT farming system. They are experiencing with one in North Devoda .
I guess that’s why my cab gets a little dusty from the back window having a slight opening to hear weird noises 😢😂. Thanks men!!!
Nice video
"ps" Love the "Doggy"
Good way to Sand Blast the Deck and the Blades before sharpening AHAHAHAH..
I bet is was nice and clean under there...
Thanks Much. Mike M.
Good video
Nice work on the vid.. Nice job on the tractor and planter also. A bit of time setting up but cruising after that.... ever thought about adjusting the front wheel width so they run in between the rears? Less ridges and more uniformed. But if your doing rowcrop work it would be a pain. 😮😊. Stay safe 🏴
The row runs between the real wheels. You don’t want the tire running in the rows.
@@gregjames5070 think I stated that in my comment..
Good music choice....
Ryan got a new equipment today. It is called the Ryan blinder
You should get like a 16 row planter
Rocket 🥰
What are the press wheels you are using please.
It looks like the planter is tilted forward instead of running level?
What would be the new tractors equivalent in the R series?
Could you use a batwing mower for a tractor? That would make sure its all REALLY small🤣
Do you guys actually drive seeding, or is this gps to ensure spacing is correct to the sub foot accuracy ?
Aww give Rocket a bite 🥺
Don't know if I'm being nosy or what, but what is the word on that solar project surrounding 2 sides of your property? I don't think I've heard much and I was curious....thanx
Corn and soybeans are up here in Pennsylvania a lot of Old-Timers have ever seen April 5th beans were going in the ground.
Got enough lights on that tractor i would say
Hey Ryan, Dad, Travis and Andrew,
i hope everything works great. Take care, Take it easy and Trust Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You could just set the old hay on fire!
Had trouble with stalks clumping. Used a zippo. Problem solved
What year is the 79 compared to th 82 and whats the blower for?
Blower is for the air vacuum system
Travis should be happier than a hog rollin in mud! 🐷
for me its shallow seed deep were ever your hand are very hard seed bed you have
no rain you going have problem
Hi
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Stay up wind brother, lol
/ok
RYAN ''THATS'..."'cool'... MARV'
Deere must own part of a hydraulic oil company, cause they love to waste hydraulic oil with their planters, the old 7000 planters for sure
Why not just plant through it? Why mow it
A match would probably do the trick
The row cleaners on the planter would have pushed it right out of the way
🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻🍻
Mowin dirt...lol
😂 your gonna need new blades
That planter is not set level! U gotta run a level bar/row unit. Your nosed in alot. The wing sections are not putting seed in as deep either, i can see that from your video, set outsode rows in 1 notch deeper and as you move to middle put them in a half notch on your wings,, or you could jusy set the telemetry of your pull type planter correctly? Sheesh, its new i get it, but c'mon your plantong into powder. Let it rain and maybe stop tilling your soil to dust?
Yikes!!! Hope you know how to sharpen blades!!
That Planter IS NOT EVEN LEVEL !!
Wow Ryan’s Brother is a
Real Depressed Poor Farmer !!
First
If it works, is it dumb? Absolutely not
Come on we hardly get to see you as it is LOL
go out and buy a real man tractor not those john deer piece of crap tractors real farmers use massey ferguson tractor 8740s
You are delusional if you think any Massey Ferguson is in the class with a Deere iron horse 4640
