An experimental "cruiser type" destroyer with increased displacement. The ship was equipped with very powerful propulsion, making Shimakaze faster than the majority of her contemporary ships of the same type. Shimakaze was second to none in terms of torpedo armament. The first and only destroyer of the Imperial Japanese Navy to be equipped with quintuple torpedo tubes.

The way he waits until he's sure torps are gonna hit before entering the capture zone to avoid alerting the enemy of his position is just beautiful. 13:20
@@somebody700 If you look at the minimap you can see the Iowa starting to to turn almost as soon as the Shima starts capping.
But yeah, he could have waited just a bit longer there to be 100% sure.
True, but how terrible his team ended up being was horrifying. There shouldn't have been that much health left on the map...

Took a cap on the other side of the map against half enemy team, tied up 4-5 ships of the enemy team and eventually killed them. There's nothing more this player could have done to influence the game further.

how were you able to spot the the ship in the end while still being in smoke?
Smoke Fire Penalty. Smoke doesnt protect you from getting spotted or spot.
Different ships have different penalties regarding detection when shooting.
You can check the "spotted while firing in smoke" info on every ship.
It applies when being in smoke and also when not being in smoke but a ship in a smoke is in that range.
@@Seppe1106 so im talking about the last seconds of the video when he pops smoke while being on fire, but his enemy isn't on fire and he is still spotting the enemy from inside smoke
@@KronStaro Yea, it's still the smoke fire penalty.
The Yamagiri went undetected cause its penalty is very low so even though he was shooting he doesnt get spotted. Condé on the other hand has a pretty high penalty for firing that's why he was still spotted

@@KronStaro Ships like Venezia and Henry have huge fire distance penalties.. Even if other ships hide behind a smoke wall. They will see when these ships fire. Similar to battleships.

I was gonna argue he is just farming. No cap no win. But at 4:12 they have all caps. All the team had to do is defend and play passive. Let the DDs do the rest. But instead they try to win harder, rush in and die. Comment from a 60% player.

Exactly ! Like many stupid unicom. The guy do not care about his team or even winning the game. Only selfish play and just want to survive
thats bs. he was basically keeping half their team busy and yet they lost.

you have a point, but this was mainly his team's fault. There were 2 other DDS on his team that did spotting, and he kept whole enemy team scared by staying in their flank, they had to be aware of his actions constantly. So overall he did good, the team just folded. Even if somehow they ignored him the whole match, that still makes it only minus 1 ship advantage for the enemy team, yet his team only made 1 kill.
He kept the two-thirds of the enemy team perma-spotted and unleashed a kraken. Add in the confusion he was creating behind enemy lines and I'm sure he doesn't want you on his team any more than the muppets he did his best to carry in this game.

i wouldnt reocmmend usng HP boost skill on a Shima. Shimas role is to stay mobile and invisible at all times, if you get caught losing HP, you should be able to get out fast, there's no point of having extra HP because you're not there to trade HP. So i wouldn't even give the HP boost a single star let alone 3 priority stars.

A loss is still a loss! Farming for points in a Shima from big fatty BBs in the back is easy! Capping, trying to take out dds and winning in a Shima is much more impressive!
