- Instead of renewing their lease at the end of 2020, Kat and Jackson decided to move to Costa Rica for a few months. When they arrived at their car rental place, they met a friendly stray cat, who they later found out was pregnant! They knew they couldn't leave her, so they decided to rescue her and her babies and eventually take them back with them to the United States.

A neighbor's cat gave birth in an old oven. She named the kittens Biscuit, Muffin, and Cookie.

Fourteen years ago we took in a stray pregnant cat that was stuck in a tree in our yard. She was a white cat with two little black spots on her head very similar to some of the kittens and momma cat in this video. We took her to the vet immediately because she was very emaciated and he didn't think any of the kittens would survive. We took her home and made up an entire room in our house for her. We fed her and pampered her for an entire month before she gave birth. She had 7 beautiful kittens who all survived. We kept 4 of them and they are 14 years old now. It has been so awesome. There's nothing more rewarding in life.
Thank you for being so kind. Need more people like you. Wish everyone would realize that by loving and respecting animals, they would gain so much in return.

@@fionanicolson7642 Yeah, most of the animals I've ever had have been strays and we help strays out all the time because winters get pretty cold here. We currently also have a 22 year old stray cat that we got in April 2000. =)

I rescued a pregnant cat out of the parking lot where i worked years back. She looked a lot like the one you rescued. I kept her and 3 of her kittens. They brought so much joy to my life. The last kitten died a few years back at the age of 21. They are all gone now, and I miss them. Something about keeping the mom and the liter....it's magic and sweet and special.
That’s a lovely story. If my dog girl ever got pregnant it would be nice to keep her kids!
Think ahead, there will be a time when you'll see them again & be reunited in the future. They will be happy to see you also.

@@marleypumpkin4917 Just a heads up - it's really important that you spay/neuter all of them. Even beyond overpopulation, and how there are so many puppies and kittens that some are put down every year, if you raise a cat with their kittens, or a dog with their puppies, they will end up mating with each other, and have inbred young. I know it's weird sounding, but animals don't know that's what they're doing.
I know what you mean though. My kitty is neutered, but I think about how cute her kittens would have been all the time.
Rescuing animals is always inspiring. Rescuing six in another country and taking them home with you takes the rescue to a whole new level.

I had a Calico from the day her kittens were born until 19 years later. The sons also lived into their teens at 13 and 19. It was magical to have the whole family for all of their lives.

Natilla is basically sour cream lol, Pipa is how we call a coconut full of coconut water in Costa Rica, and Garbanzo is chickpea. So cute!

Abandoned cats and dogs are common here; and generally speaking, people only want to adopt kittens and puppies. But you forgot to mention that Natilla means "sour cream" in Spanish!

Pregnant cats are incredibly sweet. Even the most standoffish kitty will turn into a lover while pregnant. I love being a part of the birth & helping raise a litter of kittens. I can’t do it right now bc my daughter is so allergic to cats, but I’m hoping she’ll outgrow the worst of her allergies. Especially since she’s wanted a cat since she could tell me. This is a kid who’d refuse her coat bc she had “kitty fur”. Who would insist she was a cat before pouncing on her dad and scratching him up. So fingers crossed bc we both really want cats in our life.

My parents got rid of our cat when I was little because I was very allergic. 24 yrs later my girlfriend refused to give up her cat. It was hard at first. She gave me benadryl everyday for almost 6 months.. idk how but I became immune to the cat. And now 13 years later we have 4 cats. Halo. Meeklo. Khalessi. Zeus and Cersei. P.z. I am immune to them and I thought I was now immune to all cats but nope. If I walk into a pet store. I will literally feel the itching in my eyes throats and breathing issues.. keep the faith alive. Cats are the coolest. We love all animals.
Check with you daughter's doctor first, but some great allergy medicines for cat allergies (and a bunch of other allergies) is the generic of Zytec and Claritin. The generic brands are not too expensive and usually easy to locate "over the counter" at most grocery stores. Take it from someone who lived in misery with allergies as a child and no advances allergy medicines at that time, your daughter will thank you.
@@driveruws Did you ever talk to your doctor about why you were not allergic to those cats after awhile, but still allergic to other cats? I adopted a small dog who loves cats and would love a kitty, but so allergic.
Maybe get with a doctor and start some desensitization training. That will help her to get over it sooner. Kids immune systems are very adaptable. You just have to do it safely
Boyfriends and husbands who are down to rescue cats and dogs together with their wives or girlfriends are literally gold and so lovable.

Seeing a cat giving birth and getting to see all of the kittens growing up just fine is one of the greatest joys one could experience in life. 💖

Our sweet boy Dave was named after Dave, our Airbnb host in Costa Rica! We became such good friends with him and he didn't even hesitate to let us bring the pregnant stray into his property

These 2 kind people are brilliant; they didn't have to intervene, but wanted to help Natilia give birth in a calm, safe environment. It's wonderful that 3 kittens go to the States, and they are keeping 2 boys and their mummy. The stars were aligned, and without their help, Natalia would have given birth on the streets of Costa Rica.
In that case, most of her kittens would have died. Only one in five feral kittens survives.
I wasn't clear about them keeping the mama cat. I thought they said the three names of the kittens they were keeping but not mom.
Gandalf is actually a girl! She looks like her mom!

I was fortunate enough to be 'adopted ' by two beauties, later known as Harley and Ivy, both pregnant. Harley had five, Ivy four, all healthy, known collectively as the Demon Cupcakes. I cried like a four year-old with a broken favorite toy when we took them in for adoption. We have two of Harley's sons, Michelangelo and Vincenzo, though they prefer Mickey and Vinny, the rest of the crowd is spreading joy and bewilderment in coastal Oregon. I wouldn't trade watching them all be born for all the money in the world. I'm a Cat Daddy!

1. That's amazing what these folks did for this kitty and her babies. 2. It's crazy how a cat can find safety in a person. Twice now in my life I've had a cat have it's kittens near me. One time I was taking a nap with my cat and woke up because my legs felt wet, and low and behold there's was a fresh litter of kittens wiggling around on my lap. Another time I had another pregnant cat in the house and she went into labor under the chair I was sitting on, and I couldn't move because even though she was mid pushing out muffins, she'd get up to follow me if I moved anywhere. There's a beautiful bond that forms between an animal and someone that loves it.

I've raised two litters from mama cats I've pulled from the pound. It's so much fun having kittens around. Their constant antics and adventures are hilarious to watch. It's hard letting them go at the end. You sort of fall in love with each and every one of them, but a person can only keep so many cats. I've found that if you raise them with kindness and affection, they will in turn display those traits towards people. In that way, I hope that by raising kitties to be sweet, I'm in some way helping to bring love and happiness into the lives of those who adopt them, thereby helping my fellow man and society in some small way.
The Tibetan Buddhists teach that animal rescue is among the highest work humans can do.

Sweet that we have people in the world who could tolerate finding a pregnant, stray cat, adopt her, then take care of her and her newborn kittens. I couldn't do that.
Years ago, went on vacation in Hawaii, we met a very very pregnant cat in our condo complex. We kept her in our apartment. We then left for two days to visit the other side of the island. When we got back she had given birth! Whenever I travel, I love to experience the wonderful cats!
You can tell the kitties are going to be as sweet and great temperament as Natilla is. She is so calm and so sweet, you are very lucky to have come across her, and she is so lucky you did! What gorgeous cats, they look as if they may have some exotic in them. Natilla is so graceful, such an elegant kitty! You are going to have many cherished years with these kitties, and to think, things could have turned out so different for them. How lucky they are to have people who love them and will care for them for the rest of their lives. All animals deserve this! Thank you for loving them

I rescued a pregnant stray a few months ago, around July. She was so skinny with this plump belly, sweetest little face. We made her a little nesting box and she immediately made herself at home. Her water broke at 6:30 pm on August 15, 2021. She had 4 beautiful baby boys, they just made 6 months old. Peanut and Pasquale (Squally) are identical twins (yellow and orange striped), Bandit (gray and black) is the food thief and he literally does "nom nom nom nom" when he eats, and Hank (solid black) is the cool cat. Bandit went to his furever home about 3 weeks ago, they say he is the King of the castle! Momm Cat is such a good mommy. She loves her boys. She loves to be outside, though, the boys, too. They stay out all day and they'll come meow at the door at night when they're ready to come in. They eat and all go curl up in their spots around the house. The twins always sleep together, it's adorable. It's been so cool watching them be born and grow up. We sure love those kitties 😻

All pregnant cats are super sweet, affectionate, and calm. When a cat is pregnant, she's her best version of herself. And if you take good care of her, she will want to make her kitten nest between your bed and the wall.

One of my favorite life events was when I adopted 4 kittens from a litter, 3 boys and 1 girl. It was so much work, but so fun and rewarding. Loved them so much. Their mom and brother already had separate homes.

So happy they took the whole family back to the states, there are a lot of strays in Costa Rica and some people are so evil they throw boiling hot water at stray dogs and cats.
