We are also using Unreal Engine 5 for our game development, so it was really great to see your updates. Liked and subscribed!

Level design is definitely a big weakness of mine too, and I found myself in a bit of a creative block for a while for my own game. But I think your idea of creating a "demonstration level" that is mainly there to showcase the main gameplay loop is something that might help me get out of that block, so thanks for the video.
Good luck with your project and I'm looking forward to seeing how much further this game progresses!

Thank you so much for your support! Yeah, also playing games similar to yours and studying the level design is a great way to get ideas.

I dont want to be that guy, but this looks very similar to David RBs game Arcadian Rift...which is fine, but may be a good idea to change some of the design. Great devlog, tho and im interested to see more!

Hey! You are not the only one to say this, I have had a few people think I was David. I just posted a new video changing the design to make my game distinct. Thank you for your support! czcams.com/video/CvakZLLZVLs/video.htmlsi=XAxL1VyaiWZ9OLvB

How did you come find out the type of level design that worked best for your game.

At first, I had no clue, so the levels were kinda boring. But then I did some research and started playing games like DOOM 2016 and Halo, which had enemies and mechanics similar to mine. So, I made a small level bit that took inspiration from those games' level designs. It ended up being a lot more fun! So, I stuck with that type of level design for now. Now I realized I need focus on creating more enemies, otherwise if I leave that for later, the levels may not play as well since each enemy has its own unique traits and behavior. Hope that answers your question! 👍

Hey lad, I'd hate to bust your balls on this at all, but the name "scatter blaster" is already taken by some of the transformers games.
