A Look Into Kokeshi Dolls!
Vložit
- čas přidán 5. 09. 2021
- I look into the history of kokeshi dolls, a style of traditional doll from Japan! What do you think of these dolls?
Also, sorry this was a shorter video than my normal, I wanted to be succinct with the information and I guess I went a little too far lol.

I loved both kokeshi dolls and Russian nesting dolls when u was a kid. The simple forms and hand painting- they just always appealed to be from a craftsmanship stand point. Looking forward to more of these videos!
After learning about them. Im so looking for one. I will get one when I tour Japan someday.
I loved this video - and learned a ton! Thanks, and definitely looking forward to more like this.
Thank you, I’m glad to hear it! ☺️
Happy u decided to go on with this subject, and btw nice research! Would like to see something maybe from our own backyard as well, like Raggedy Ann has a lot of history and also some dolls from Africa, they may be interesting.
Thank, I’m glad you enjoyed! I’ll add those to the list 😊
Thanks for the information 👍
Soooo excited to carve some of these from a beautiful fragrant branch of cedar I got from the hot spring beach in here in Hawaii. Ok litteraly wrote that before I heard it from the hot springs!!! So excited!
I hope they turn out amazing!!
Thank you for the information! Very interesting!
I'm glad you liked it!!
I recently heard about them toward the end of a Gaijin Goomba video about the cultural inspirations for Pokemon Legends Arceus, and I thought it actually looked fun; I dunno that I would have the skill to paint one but it would be interesting to try. So I thought I'd look up a couple videos on them. I wonder if you can buy unpainted ones the way you can unpainted ceramics? If you can, do you know if it's expensive to get into that kind of hobby?
