- This video is a little bit different as we're not showcasing a specific project but instead creating a little more of a "vlog" style video. I've been very busy with my life as a professional woodturner! This week, I had a grilled pizza party with some close friends this past Memorial Day, I had some birthday celebrations, stopped by the Spoleto Festival here in Charleston, South Carolina, and I had a visit from a very special friend, Cynthia Gibson, who I will introduce and talk with about her work in pyrography, Kokeshi dolls, as well as our friendship and how we got to know each other.

I met her at the Oregon symposium this year, and was very impressed with her figures. And she was the toast of the evening with her “dolls” commanding the highest $ of the evening on the auction.

This vlog was a well thought out and a fine production Ashley. Congratulations on achieving the 10k sub mark. As your sub numbers increase so will the critics. My little bit of advise is to continue to be you and focus on quality vs quanity...as I have seen too many quality crafters get entangled with the nay sayers and mean spirited comments.
You are fantastic at what you do and how you are presenting it.

Building on a previous comment, I'm now dreaming about a collaboration between you, Anne Briggs (Anne of All Trades) and April Wilkerson. You teach them to turn ginormous bowls & teensy finials, Anne teaches both you and April to forge Russian lathe knives and turning hooks, and April shows both you and Anne how to make a bandsaw mill. Or at least a chainsaw mill... Also, there are things to be cooked in Anne's giant wood-fired pizza oven :-) Clyde
