I have one of these on 300+ feet of starkline electric sheep netting, and it works great, Not real hot, but it keeps the Billy goats inside, with two dogs.
I expect to change out the battery for dual 21700 cells when it goes out. Thanks for the video!

I just bought one of these - the S12. Running it through one 82' length of electric poultry netting. A first-timer, I now realize I should have a tester. Not sure which to buy to work with this setup.
I would get a digital fence tester. They cost more, but easier to read than the flashing light types. Those are sometimes hard to read in the sunlight with glare.

I honestly don't think it'll be stout enough. You could try, but it'll probably get dogged down too much. I would go with something that's for at least .5 joule or higher.
would this be good for keeping small animals out of your garden, raccoons, rabbits, I'm plagued with them this year
It should be good for them. Just let the bottom wire high enough that the grass can't really drag it down too much, but low enough they can't sneak underneath. I would probably have 3 wires myself. Also make sure to have a good ground rod for it to mount the unit to. Deeper the ground rod is in the ground the better the whole system will run

Look at the white sticker. I believe it's on the bottom side of the orange battery box. It'll be a 10 digit number starting with a 1 or 2. The first 2 digits are the year it was built and the 3rd 4th digits are the week of that year it was built.
If the sticker isn't in that spot, it might on the inside where the battery goes but on the black part of the case.

@@imaslowlerner If it works then that's not too bad. About $30-$50 cheaper than a newer model. If it doesn't work, it may just need a battery and/or reset.

Hopefully it's a working unit. If you're buying it used vs a new one, there's probably not much warranty with it vs a new Gallagher unit coming with a 3 year warranty
