After, the guys also breakdown one of the biggest fights of the year, Rempe vs Reaves. We caught up with Sebastian back up in Toronto during All-Star Game Week to talk about his career, upbringing, and if this is finally the year that the Canes make it over the playoff hump. I think Sid has given everything to Pittsburgh that they could ever expect. Nobody could fault Sid for going to a team that would contend for a cup. Being an Oilers fan I hate the idea of him going to Colorado. But as a hockey fan, what an amazing storyline!

Can confirm on the Kipper stories. We use to frequent Morgans Pub on 17th ave, and Kip would be there time to time rippin darts and crushing beers. Thats where “Shirts off for Kiprusoff” started getting thrown around when he’d get flashed all the time. Chatted with him a few times, absolute legend!

Elliotte is such a professional and so great on this pod. I really only see his sportsnet side and he seems so stiff and serious. I wish SN gave their broadcasters the freedom to be more like themselves.
The Makar contract is a steal tbh…but as far as Seider goes, if they can get a defensive pair behind him and Walman, you’ll see his offense at 50+ points a season again. They’re the only ones that can take on minutes vs the top lines and sustain it right now. Otherwise the guys behind them get destroyed.

Lindy wasn't the entire problem this year but he didn't do himself any favors. Constantly changing lines game after game, burying Holtz on the 4th line, playing Meier on his off wing, not addressing Luke's errors lately. It took until the all star break for him to change up the D zone play. He seems like a great guy but the post-game interviews with the players this past week they all seemed completely checked out.
if I'm hedging a bet for the 2 teams in the finals, right now, I'd hedge Stars v Panthers in the finals.

loved the eppy boys that being said lets not forget that crosby was the one who pressured management (and got hextall fired) for not giving geno a decent contract, he was the one who pushed management to give him 6mil. the new ownership literally fired hextall cause hextall wanted to rebuild and managment wanted to listen to crosby and try to contend for a cup. Dubas was brought in to be aggressive and thats what he did. while it may seem like a bad trade in hindsight lets not forget that the pens got rid of a couple bad contracts and freed up 3mil in cap space while also acquiring a dman who probably finishes the season with 60ish points. obviously not enough to make the playoffs but it was probably worth the risk

Biz is right - even if he can't help himself with the innuendos. I was in Thailand over the summer and the Thai massage is as traditional it gets. If you struggle with flexibility + sore muscles it is THE best.

What Friedman suggested is essentially what the European Champions Hockey League system is. I'm not a fan of ties in hockey. Additionally, I believe that fewer games would make the sport more interesting. I think what makes the NFL so exciting is the low number of games.
