It drives me mad when no one called Cersei a Mad Queen when she blew up the Sept of Bailor and all it’s trial attendees both friend and foe and with it an entire section and civilians in King’s Landing. Now that was crazy!
In the final episode I noticed, that Cersi never commanded that the bells ring in surrender because the bells were never meant to ring for surrender. Consequently, we never saw who rang the bells. Jaimie was busy getting to Cersi. That “bell ploy,” was a lazy writers invention. Suspecting Tyrion was a traitor, knowing he had released his Brother Jaimie, Daenerys couldn’t trust him and seeing Cersei watching calmly from her balcony, who could blame her for fearing a trap. And rightfully so, The Queen of Dragons was, “Not today Lannisters!” and Fire and Blood had its reign. Daenerys wasn’t a Mad Queen, her downfall came when she told Jon (brainwashed by Tyrion) that, those with other opinions as to what is good, would not get to choose and since that included Sansa, and Arya. He assassinated her to save his family, not kill a new tyrant. And don’t get me started on “Bran the Broken,” who came “...all this way,” to be King. That final Season had more wholes than a slice of rotting Swiss Cheese! I hope GRRM clears this mess up sooner than later in THE WINDS OF WINTER & A DREAM OF SPRING. Write GRRM, write!!!!

I wouldn't mind her becoming mad and dying if it was done over seasons and done well. It would be tragic then, not embarrassing. And also, according to GRRM, only one dragon in history was taken down and that was one in a million shot. Generally, a grown dragon in the sky is literally invincible... and Euron killed one like it was nobody's business! Thankfully /some/ bits of seasons were salvaged thanks to Emilia's incredible acting.
Denearys and Cersie are two faces for the same coin.
Just because they didn't spend time in the show literally calling get a mad queen all the backlash, backstabbing, betrayal, happened to both queens because they saw themselves as the sole person that deserved to be judge, jury, executioner.
Hector Lugo there is a big difference between executing political opponents with civilian casualties and executing an entire city...

I can't imagine growing up without a family especially without my mamma .. Poor Dany, never had a family .. It must've been even harder not knowing what a mother's love and/or the love of a father felt like ... That's why Daenerys always desired to be loved because she lacked that as a child growing up ... And then she made her own little family and had to basically watch all of them die: Drogo, Rhaego, Ser Barristan, Viserion, Ser Jorah, Rhaegal and Missandei... I wish she had met Maester Aemon

Quathe actually said something close to this. "To move forward you must go back, to move north you must go south, to reach the light you must move through the darkness" there is also a part in book 3 where she visits Daenerys as a spirit and warns her that she must go to Ashaii that's where something much greater awaits her & her dragons. I hope she goes there in the books cause Westeros fucked her over in the show.

It’s the perfect end of her story, but not this way, not done like this , not when it makes no sense whatsoever. They took the most iconic and most complex character ever and ruined her because of rushing. It feels like the writers themselves forgot who she was along with all other characters. It’s just sad what they did , they owe us a public apology ffs 😂 but I still won’t forgive nor forget 🤷♀️

kusali11 Of course we are unwilling to accept it, GoT used to be a masterpiece up to season 6 , then it all went to crap , every character dropped 50 IQ, stupid mistakes were done, characters arcs destroyed all over... if you start a masterpiece, finish it till the end or don’t start it at all. Feels like the writers didn’t even try, it’s like they wrote the ending first and then wrote the story and squeezed it in. There are countless fan theory endings that are better than theirs... That’s shameful ... I realize not everyone can be satisfied but seems to me NO one is, not even the actors playing in the show lol ...
Her ending just breaks my heart. There was so much potential. So much capacity for love, for life. And I'm still upset over the disrespect shown to her character by the writers. So upset.
If you think her ending is gonna be any different in the books, youre in for an even bigger disappointment than season 8. The writers just didnt understand how to flesh it out properly, not to mention they denied a 10 episode budget in favor of 7 episodes....theyre idiots for sure... but the overall general arc is definitely GRRM, not D&D. Its not disrespect just because her ending was tragic and she was your favorite. It was the plan all along.
I think she got what she deserves. As Tyrion said, having few lizards does not make her a good ruler.

He betrayed Varys and ratted him out to Dany and then was shocked when he was executed and called Dany wrong for it. You can chalk it up to Tyrion being a hypocrite or bad writing but I call it both.

That shimmering beacon of hope and goodness with the adoration of her subjects and advisers, and then her volatile, darker side, that Targaryen fire! He did what was needed. She desimated an entire city. Did you hear her speech? She was going to go beyond westros. True she may have freed more slaves, but she may just kill thousands more. There were time where her madness showed. It was bound to happen, the writers did it wrong though. It should have started back in season 6 if it was gonna happen. Or have an extra season. Jon did tue right thing. She went mad especially witnessing her best friend die. How could that not change her as a ruler.

She lost her most trusted advisors and a dragon defending the north. And where was the gratitude? She tried to reason with Cersi and she killed her friend and her dragon. Her next move was to make Dany merciful by bringing the people into the city. Cersi is the blame for their deaths no Dany.
Flamme Enflammée the last thing I wanted was for Dany to die or go mad, but she had to die because she was going to continue to murder innocent people, I really wish she turns out different in the books :(

Many insist that the pacing of her madness was off in the show, but this brilliant editing demonstrates that it was not. The signs were there, the foreshadowing was done, the parallels to her father were blatant. Losing Ser Jorah then Missandei was just the straw that broke the camel's back.
She had a good heart, but was too obsessed with her destiny, about retaking the iron throne, which was actually never hers to claim except by conquest.
I hope that Drogon laid her to rest in Valyria. She's a queen that inspired love, awe, admiration, envy and fear. She swept everyone and everything around her like a storm, and when she left everything was silent.

I don´t think it's just their fault. When we look at the mad king, he was a normal man too. He did his first mad actions at the age of 20-25 somewhere. And Daenerys was 23 when she burned the city. The history repeats. I think she woul've become mad sooner or later.

Am I the only person STILL mourning Daenerys
She literally was fine before going to the North, they were so damn ungrateful and rude to her. With her and her dragons they wouldn’t even be alive yet they still outcasted her. She has made several attempts to be peaceful but the one time she takes something as she should she’s “mad” first of all it’s WAR and they tried putting modern morals into a medieval time which doesn’t make since. She lost one of her dragons and her best friend behind these people, the people who cheered for Ned Starks head. If we’re gonna get real it’s Cersei’s fault, Daenerys had 3 huge ass dragons. At ANY time she could’ve taken the city with her dragons alone. Yet she didn’t, Daenerys was outcasted just because of her bloodline. ANY HUMAN BEING WOULD END UP THIS WAY EVENTUALLY. The grief and rage plus the adrenaline in that moment, I don’t blame her. And Arya ass should’ve died too if we’re honest, but nobody considered Cersei mad when she used the Wildfire. People just didn’t like Daenerys because who she was related to and the power she had point blank period
They ruined her character. Season 8 must be remade imo..

Imagine growing up without a family and slowly building one as you grow older. Then see them being taken away by your enemies how would you feel? Dany only wanted love and she thought she could get that from helping people, but only in a position of power. She believed that she is destined for the Iron Throne. Not because she wanted power to oppress people, but because she wanted to protect people from what she had experienced growing up. To finally bring back her family’s legacy. The very family she had lost before she was born.
It doesn't matter at this point anymore. Beautiful tribute. Made me cry. Dany is a much more complexed character. What we don't understand, we fear. Destiny's calling. Once in motion, it cannot be stopped.
