Shhh don't tell anyone but in the books, Rickon is still alive!
When him and Bran escaped from Winterfell with Hodor, Bran went north of the wall because the greenseerer kid and his sister from the swamps said he had visions of Bran becoming the next three eyed raven. However, Rickon was taken with the loyal wildling woman to be hidden away on the far northern isle of Skagos. Skagos is shrouded in mystery and Westeros' best scholars still don't know much about it, other than sailors tales of being shipwrecked on the islands and meeting cannibals and unicorns.
Anyways, Wyman Manderly, lord of White Harbor is pretending to be chill with the Boltons ruling the North, but plans to rebel against them because he has information about Rickon on Skagos, and has sent Stannis' messenger, Davos Seaworth (guy with nubs for fingers) to go rescue Rickon from Skagos and bring him home. In return, he will cede all of the Bolton's lands to Stannis Baratheon and make him his king. (but we don't know how much of this promise Manderly intends to keep.) (and yes, Stannis is still alive. He marched down from The Wall and rallied the Northmen he could gather and is currently camped nearby Winterfell, however he cannot march further due to the largest snowstorm the North has seen in centuries.)
So yes, the books have so much further potential and plot. It's pretty fookin epic.

The Tyrells for example truly loved each other, Cersei loved her children, Oberyn Martell loved his sister, Jaime and Tyrion truly loved each other, Meera and Jojen, etc. But the Starks are the family where we get to see fatherly love and the love Ned‘s children have for him, which is otherwise rare in this universe

I’m not going to lie… When I heard the flash back of, “…and I’d be Queen someday,” and then I see her as Queen walking through the hall as the beat dropped…….. I seen Sansa in a whole new light… The flashback helps us see that her idea of being Queen as a child was not the Queen she became… but the Queen she became was the Queen she needed to be, and her people needed her to be…
When I seen the execution of Little Finger in this video paired with this perfect music, it also changed my perspective on Sansa…
I was never much of a fan of Sansa, but when you really take a moment and take a step back to objectively look at her story in its entirety….. You will see just how far she has come…
Really think about this for a second: Little Finger ran the show for how long? He was untouchable… But some young northern girl who grew up ended up being the one to bring down the hammer of justice for all of Westeros…. That’s a long way to travel in a short amount of time.
I don’t know… I’m a really deep and passionate person.. So, when I see scenes like this paired with a score such as the one used in this video, it can seriously change my entire perspective, as it just did. Awesome video.

Exactly. I started warming up to Sansa in seasons four & five, after she left the yoke of the Lannister's. On a rewatch, of the entire series after season six she had easily become one of my favorite characters.
She has changed so much that it can give you whiplash.
I think many dislike her because they refuse to let go of how she behaved in season one, but they don't realize that Sansa has been gone for a very long time.

@Kyel ! I don't believe it's inevitable to end terribly, I do however believe if we ever get the last two books, it still won't end the way fans want it to end. A lot, not all, of GOT fans took note of the bad writing in season eight, as if this was the first season with bad writing. It wasn't. The decline, for me at least, started in season four leading into season five. Season seven, imo, is infinitely worse than season eight. Suffice it to say, the writing had been sketchy for a while, but many didn't notice because the characters they loved were still being shown in a positive light. There was a lot of questionable shit going down and when folks voiced their opinion, of course the response was "stop watching then".
I'm telling you if Dany and Jon wound up together, even after she torched KL, and Jaime swept Brienne away to Tarth to get married (Dany would let Jaime live because she saw the love in his eyes for Brienne and she's romantic at heart), many fans, again not all, wouldn't have a bad thing to say about how it ended, because it would give them what they wanted and how they envisioned it.
But honestly, who in their right mind would even trust in a happy ending for this series?

wow didn't think I'd be BACK IN MY GOT FEELS but here we are and I'm tearing up at 3am. This is an absolutely masterful edit. Genuinely and truly breathtaking. I can't pick one aspect to focus on- the choice of visual clips is so well done, so moving. The largely chronological but not-quite-so narrative arc with the three sections is beautifully split as time moves on but we see flashes back to what was and what could be. The bits looking back on youth in the third section were especially moving, with stuff from the first couple of episodes in black and white lending a melancholy feel. The sound editing was just. Perfect. The overlaid voices on the quotes that came back repeatedly. The pauses in action when the music took a breath before a swell. The changes of scene on beat. The fight editing in that one bit. Holy crap. The absolute raw emotion that you managed to convey with all of this, with all of the members of House Stark. And god, king in the north chanting with swelling music Literally Always Gets Me In The Gut, so what a way to end.
Anyway, I didn't expect to be feeling this about the Starks in the year of our lord 2020 but thank you for your service and your beautiful work.
*edit nope I had to keep adding to this because I need to rave MORE about how gorgeous it is I need to add that also the sound effects and the way you use them on beats in the music is just perfect and also you somehow managed to have exactly the right amount of talking in this. Sometimes you see videos with not enough talking between music and sometimes you see too much and this just feels like it flows so naturally, each quote flowing directly into the next. A lot of this is from the amount of parallels you use, which I have to come back to because again its just stunning. Ok now I'm done I swear
