      they literally do the opposite of what they tried to warn them, stay in the North and stay together. The only one that listened was Sansa but still apart. A pact is suppose to stay together according to the Starks, but how would that be with Arya sailing, Bran counseling, Jon somewhere, and Sansa already there.

      I miss GoT especially the earlier seasons. I miss the excitement I would feel everytime a new season and ep premiered. You would watch it alone and then again with your friends and discuss all the theories, etc. The fandom was just amazing. How I wish it would last forever. GRRM and HBO wanted it for at least 10 or 12 seasons but nah D&D were not having any of it. They just wanted to move on to new other projects. I think in TV shows there’s this thing called “franchise fatigue”. Many shows in the past suffered from it. But I think with a vast world and intricately woven plot GoT had, ten seasons would have been good enough to tie loose things up. Instead, they crammed the ending up all for 6 episodes! As a result it suffered greatly. GoT was ruined. Too many plot points were unresolved, characters were ruined, lore and history were abandoned, etc. The ending was lackluster. It was such a great show. It’s so sad that it ended so bad.

His genius showed through, even when the writers had sold out and essentially left the show. Ramin kept the promise of the show alive. His work will endure, even if no one remembers the terrible writing.... they will remember this haunting, beautiful, enduring music. I hope he wins a Emmy or four. People are mostly upset about the way it ended though. You can't judge a whole series that brought us so many things over the years based on just 2 or 3 final episodes.

    What I love about this piece, is how Ramin Djawadi, for the first time in the entire series, has the Stark's theme ending in a major key. It really creates this feeling of triumph and resolve that we didn't feel for the Starks until now. After all the tragedy that fell onto their family, we finally get to see them happy and fulfilled, which is reflected perfectly in this piece.

    Man... when this track hit at the time all the Stark siblings were living their lives by their own and apart from each other, my heart really made feel some nostalgia thinking about the Stark family as well as mine. A warm tear came out of my left eye, and as it was going down my left cheek and it was getting cold, I could only think about the 9 years I spent watching GOT, the mess the last season turned out to be and that I’d never see or experience something like Game Of Thrones, which until now, for me, is the best TV show ever. Then A Song Of Ice And Fire started playing, as Jon, Tormund, Ghost and the Free Folk were walking past The Wall, and I was like... "This is it. Isn’t it?" Nostalgia, deception and anger came at me whislt the final credits rolled in... man... what a night.
    I still believe season 8 could have been better than what we got, but all of the people involved in the show (except D&D) did a great work and deserve our respect. I’m still waiting for the prequels of course. A man is waiting.

      House Stark, based on what Dumb and Dumber have served us in the finale, will go extinct with this generation so the title Last of the Starks truly stands. Arya has sailed into unknown, into the sea where entire Stark fleet was lost thousand years ago and since then Starks shunned seafaring. Bran is not Bran anymore and can't reproduce even if he were Bran, Sansa with all that Elizabeth Tudor imagery will probably remain single and with no heir. Jon is not a Stark. He is either Snow or Targaryen same as Gendry is either Waters or Baratheon. I hope Martin will give better ending to all Starks than what D&D did. In S8 all of them were out of their characters, more like poor man's Lannisters than children of Ned Stark.

    • @BrettWoodPiano
      @BrettWoodPiano Před 2 lety +2

      @@devilsadvocate4081 Well, GRRM wasn't really involved much by that point. It's "his fault" because he hasn't written anything in the series for a decade. D&D screwed up big time, but GRRM is to blame for leaving thousands of pages of story untold. He has completed many other writing projects during this time, but none for ASOIAF. I think the show would have had more direction if the books were finished, or at least close to it

    • @Wveth
      @Wveth Před 2 lety

      You act like he's not trying. Unfortunately the writing process, especially for stories of this magnitude, is pretty complicated and not everyone can work at the same speed. But like, even if it's just his work ethic or whatever, so what? He doesn't owe anybody another word of this story; it's his art. If you haven't paid for the next book, you're not entitled to it. So the unspoken implication that it's "wrong" for George to not have written it... is kinda bullshit.
      And even if it wasn't, Benioff and Weiss already proved they could write better than that. So yes, it's entirely a matter of them not putting in effort. It's their fault *and* it was shitty of them to do.
