LPT for dealing with stripped screws like this one had for the RAM access: Get a rubber band and lay it over the screw, then jam in your screwdriver. You'll be surprised how well it works. The rubber will compress where it needs to, fill the gaps your screwdriver can't, and because it's rubber, it'll pretty much stick in place.
iMacs have a great feature that stops you from gaming on it for prolonged periods. You can see a reflection of yourself in the screen that makes you rethink the life choices you made that led you to this point and you stop
For sure. Vintage Apple products, like the 68K macs and PowerPC macs are great to collect and restore. Even the relatively newer stuff is pretty durable and beautiful

@@imsosuperduper oh if youre planning to play roblox you are for sure gonna get a good pc for that. You can build a pc for roblox for about 200 dollars, but if you wanna do some more gaming in the future youll be abe to get a capable pc for about 500 dollars. I would always recommend building your own pc. When it comes to building, its basically like lego, you only need a screwdriver for a few processes. I would suggest watching some videos on budget gaming computers.
Stabbing the screwdriver into the screw with some excessive force might also work. It's not like this would be a terrible loss if something goes wrong.

Print a slightly oversized PH bit in ABS, then heat it up and press it against the stripped screw Voila, now you have the perfect bit for that stripped screw This way I unscrewed pretty much every (not fully) stripped screw Ofc there are other options too, but 3d printers are just super versatile

Hey, the speck of dust is easy to remove. The glas can be pulled off with one or better two suction cups. This can also help with the dullness of the screen.

I use a 12 year old iMac on the daily ngl. Got it handed down, have upgraded CPU, GPU, hard drive to SSD, 4GB stock RAM to 16 GB RAM. etc. Works like a charm except for the fact that I had to take a saw to the case to make room for a better fan and is missing the temperature sensor so the fan just runs 24/7, also running it "Hackintosh" as they say. Lack of support from softwares really drives me crazy but I game on it quite often. Usually running games through Wine Bottler or Bootcamp though. It's a lot of work for gaming tbh, definitely NOT worth it for gaming, but I only have it for the purposes of writing and producing music. Slowly but surely putting together a windows build for gaming and non-music related stuff.
To open a stripped screw you take flat head screwdriver and hammer it in to the screw. Works perfectly on screws stuck on walls but pc/mac work it might have one or two downsides.
That method could work, however, you don't want to damage your entire machine by inverting the thing and then hammering away at it. All of your components, ESPECIALLY your screen would be in danger. Better solution would be a stripped screw removal kit from the local hardware store used in a low powered drill. Take your time with it and it will open up. Unfortunately, once you're in there, you're going to have to try to find Mac specific RAM from 2009, and then try to find a screw that fits the compartment to close it back up.
What you do with a PC like this is make it a kitchen PC for really basic web browsing, streaming, email, etc. Throw it on a counter and don't get upset if it dies.
