I really like how Santi is very distinctly different to mat in the way he runs it without making food theory unrecognizable, I was worried it would either be “just worse mat” or the theory channels would just be entirely different but none of them especially this are like that, being different but not TOO different

1. The extra spicy jalapeño burger: Ghost Pepper cheese, hot sauce, crispy jalapeños.
2. The fried pizza burger: Mozzarella sticks, onions, and marinara sauce.
It's all about finding the balance between Burger King's profitability and customer satisfaction. That's a great lesson for everyone involved in product creation. I can't wait to see if one of your three versions of the Whopper wins.

I like that Santi went personal here, I remember when I went to Buenos Aires a couple of years ago and eating choripán on the street was amazing, and it is also nice to see Spanish words not completely butchered, I love mat pat but languages aren't his strong suit. A burger place in my country already has a "gaucha" burger in which they basically put a sliced chorizo on a burger bun with chimicurri
you sound goofy if you suddenly switch your accent just to say one or two words after speaking in your usual accent. I wouldn't suddenly drop a British accent while mentioning "fish n chips" so why do it at all?
@@jolliron accent and languages are two different things, and given that words like "choripán", "chimichurri" and "Argentina" are originally in Spanish, I think it is better to say them in their original language accent, maybe country names for understanding purposes and a lot of countries have exonyms that are different anyway, maybe it is my polyglot brain shortcircuting, everytime I see a word from a language I know that was borrowed into another language my brain goes to the pronunciation in the original language unless the word has been greatly modified in written form. My comment was more of a slight roast at Mat in the Encanto Film Theory episodes failing to pronounce a traditional building styles and not understanding how gramatical gender works.
@patax144 they are two different things, glad we are on the same page about that. There's no "right" way to say something, just different accents. Just because someone says chimichurri the "american" way doesn't mean it's wrong. It's the way American English speakers say it. If you wanna say it the "correct" way then speak the language that cuisine derives from.
Cool, unfortunately I don't really have a special culture meal or special food item, but like you said, I always love it when those from other cultural backgrounds make it prominent that they are of that background

This might feel weird to some, but I love seeing Santi's heritage on full display here. I sometimes struggle to feel connected to creators because of cultural differences and often find myself yearning for more hispanic creators. I entered my 3. I didn't read the fine print to get the breakdown, but I worked at BK for about 10 years, so I knew to use ingredients that they could easily add to their boards and which ones they currently have or have had in the past. I also know the basic sandwich building order, so I was able to add the ingredients in the way they would actually be prepped. I used items I've ordered, and I always customize my order. I also eat out a lot and some of my inspiration came from places like Wendy's and Sonic that offer some more unique additions that I've recently seen added on the BK menu, but not paired well with other toppings. It has been over a month and I don't remember exactly what I submitted, but one incorporated a topping with everything I usually get on it: Stacker sauce, Pickles, onions, bacon, Swiss cheese.
PS, the BK Stacker sauce is the equivalent to the big Mac sauce. The big Mac has Lettuce, onions and Pickles. So 3 ingredients are the same but switching out the style of cheese is a shift in flavor profile. And getting rid of the Lettuce and adding bacon, what could be more American?
I know this was a promotional event but I tried to make my burger, at least this one, one that could have potential to stay on the menu all the time.
I had this thought and I can’t explain but I just feel it in my heart. Santi feels like the older teenage cousin who inlists their younger cousins in shenanigans but doesn’t let them realize what they’re doing is dubious. I just felt this when Santi started talking to him self.
I’m 99% sure that they’re going to cancel this event at the last minute and give nobody the $1 million

Forgot the exact ingredients, but kept it simple, but different. Made some research for the right cheese ro use and for the sauce, an onion sauce already provided by BK.

Here is an idea. Work around the original ingredients. Pickled red onions and melt the cheese on top of the meat under a lid. That way you keep the flavour in the meat and makes it amazing. Then work around everything else.

If I had known about this competition i would have entered it with this combo. Toast the bun with butter, then add grilled onions, bacon, the patty, the lettuce & tomatoes, then Horseradish Sauce.

I think the greatest burger would be a BLT burger with mayo and onions. Make it a double with two patties, and maybe a slice of pepper jack cheese. Also, a little bit of paprika right before you put on the top bun.

Santi's personality is *chefs kiss* perfect and I love the approach he takes. That burger actually looks nice considering here in Australia one of the more spicier burgers we had carolina reaper sauce.

Love Santi as host here on Food Theory. Burgers sounded amazing, but half expected a Theorist burger that had the public guessing what the flavors were.

I feel like having different hosts for different channels really helps differentiate them and help each channel stand out

Looks delicious!! This was very thorough, Santi! I’ve never had chorizo, or really any Argentinian food and would love to try making my own or at least vote when the time comes! However, I have a couple of questions:
1) How did you submit a chorizo patty if the only options were beef and Impossible? Did you use the spices as toppings? Did you just put “chorizo” or “chorizo patty” and hope they’d take the hint?
2) How do we know the judging is fair? Hate to be cynical, but Burger King could have already performed a secret taste test experiment for predetermined options, factoring in feasibility and innovation, and searching through submissions for one that was similar to add to the finalists. They may have cut even more corners and already had a specific combo in mind that they try to search for. (As for the lucky winner, $1M is likely a drop in the bucket as long as the keep good PR with the contest).

11:15 personally, a burger with bacon, fries, and A1 sauce actually sounds pretty good. But I’d leave off the peppers and just put mozzarella cheese, since that’s my favorite cheese.
