Also this video is amazing. I think that lifestyle wisdom is where you truly stand out from the you-tube fitness crowd. Very genuine and thought through advice, and I am going to try the squares thing !
My perfect life has me spending 4x more time with my airplane than my husband, that does not mean the airplane is more important. My husband has a lot of hobbies too and needs time to work on them. Some couples are joined at the hip, some rarely see each other, we are in between those extremes.
I retired at age 25 ... for a year. I saved my money and picked a date. What I failed to do was properly plan what I would do for that year. I lasted four months. I couldn't enjoy the time off for two reasons. 1) I knew I would have to go back to a type of work I hated. 2) Scooby is correct, a month of poor habits and vice isn't very healthy and ultimately leaves you feeling miserable and empty. I ended up taking that "retirement" money and using it to go back to school. I learned computer programming at a two year community college and for the past ten years I've been self employed. I now look upon retirement; not as the day I stop working, but rather the day I stop working for a living.
Scooby......you inspire me. Like many young stallions, I too have been hitting the gym to get some muscles. I like to go when its not too crowded. I was at the squat rack, squatting a total of 100lbs and as I squatted down the 4th time, I couldn't come up for the 5th rep. I was stuck....trapped by my own hubris in thinking I could squat 100lbs and nary a soul in sight to help me. Despair gripped my soul. All was lost. At that moment, I felt an presence, an aura if you will. It was you Scooby. You said "Come on, don't give up, push through". Suddenly, I felt a rush of energy, like Popeye eating a can of spinach. I proceeded to rise from the squatting position and went to complete 3 more reps. A little while later, as I crawled out to my car, I looked up towards the bright blue sky and said: "Thank you Scooby.....wherever you are."
im only turning 18 soon and u cant believe how much of an inspiration u are to me. this is literally why i lift. i wanna be able to do things at nearly 60 that the average 20 year old cant do. plus u look so good for your age, its just incredible. Nothing but respect.
I really admire you for what you do. I let myself go over the last 10 years and am now probably 80 pounds over weight. I did some cardio this morning and then was surfing CZcams when I came across this video and your channel. Awesome positivity!!! Sending good vibes your way man!!!!
the secret to losing that 80lbs is nutrition. Avoiding hunger with a 25% caloric deficit is what the free meal plans at CustomMealPlanner will help you accomplish. When you are never hungry, the urge to binge decreases dramatically and your chance of success skyrockets :)
scooby1961 Mr Scooby I don't know why but I can't stop bingeing every weekend. I eat relatively healthy from Monday to Thursday but I just let myslef go and binge on pizza and other food from Friday to Sunday. How do I stop this? I drink 8 glasses of water almost everyday to prevent myself from bingeing but It just doesn't work. Keep in mind I live in a small apartment and my parents eat a lot of junk so there is junk food everywhere and it's very difficult to avoid it. I'm just a super skinny 15 year old teen trying to lose some stubborn belly fat but I cant do it. Please give me some advice good sir, I'd really appreciate it.
Scooby, let me say from the bottom of my heart, you have helped me immensely in the past and am so grateful for all you do. I have recently got back into watching you and you only get better with age my friend. You are a good person. Thanks again.
My perfect day is to hang out with Scooby and Jeff Seid together while we all eat tons of ice cream and cake chased with beer, lol. Thank you for the message Scooby. I have a lot of college students that I teach who could certainly use this video before they spend years and money following careers their parents want them to pursue. I ask them what they want to do in life and they cannot answer the question. But it certainly seems like everyone knows what they want in the next iPhone gadget they'll just have to go and purchase.
I was perusing exercise videos, researching, thinking I wanna get things in shape, and the reason I was intrigued by your channel is, you really show you care about people. Good job fellow.
I'd love to be cycling where you are Scoob. I'm on the flat, frozen tundra in Sk Canada (Der vint is furchtbar kalt) - But making the best of it making my way to the local indoor running track. Thx for the help and encouragement. A large percentage of our population stay inside and eat junk and drink alcohol to excess all winter long - alot of heart attacks happen when people clear their snowy walks and driveways. I need exercise for my mental health and watching your channel helps me keep momentum. Thanks.
Very insightful stuff scooby! I've been reading a lot about prioritizing properly and it has made a big difference in almost every aspect of my life, even down to the hour or so i do play video games with my friends at night. It's kind of hard to think about retirement when it might be 40 years away for me but it's always good to get a nudge like this.
You can do your photo grid how you want but in mine, squares represent hours in the day, not importance. If something covers four squares then my perfect life has me doing it four hours a day. Just because something is more important does NOT mean it gets a bigger photo in my grid. Say your one and only passion in life is boxing. If you boxed 16 hours a day, you would be dead - literally. The most important things are not necessarily things you want to spend more time doing.
My perfect life is having rental income provide for my living needs to the point where I can afford almost anything within reason on top of survival. I live in nature away from most hustle and bustle of the nearby town and the nearest neighbor is at least a mile away. The time is my own and I spend it how I choose - boating, traveling, starting businesses by 95% delegation and maybe even starting a country. I'm 50% there.
Amidst all the seasonal commercialism what a refreshing change of gear(pardon the cycling pun) to think about self improvement. Definitely will give this a go and look forward to the next video in this series. Thanks Scooby and Merry Christmas from England !
Thank you so much for your wisdom Scooby! I have been following you for close to a decade now and you have been a steady positive influence in my life. I began thinking of what I wanted to do in my life when I read the 7 habits and did the deathbed visualization exercise. This led me to study more about philosophy and some of the mainstays I would like in my life are family, friends, exercise, music and helping people less fortunate than me. Thank you once more for your kindness and guidance.
Scooby, this is one of the most insightful and valuable vids youve done in a long time... it really made me think and i got alot out of this one. And may i just add that california is one gorgeous state !
I think you have identified the reason I am no longer #1 fitness trainer on CZcams. In the beginning, there was just me and people didnt have a choice. Now there are literally thousands of trainers and most of them tout things that are not only expensive but are very far from realistic ... but it gets people excited.
scooby1961 Well, just keep doing what are you doing uncle Scoob. Everyone is responsible for their own actions, let those fools follow the fake natty/ marketing bs guys. Sooner or later they will realise that every good thing takes time to accomplish. The funny thing is that once they fail they still don't realize, that what they are hearing is pure BS bro stuff. Right after that they start blaming their genetics etc, hilarious. Best regards!!!
I did this Visualisation stuff when i was 24. Every one in the group had to write down three main goals for the near future. Then we put it in an envelop at exchanged it with other course members. After a year we seven met again for dinner an openend everyone elses envelop an looked how our goals realized. Also in that year we hat to read our copy oft the goals like a mantra as often we could, until i gets our reality. I Could fullfill my goals in on Year and it was awesome.
Thank you so much for this scooby, it made me realize some things about myself and now I'm on the verge of tears. I can't express gratitude through words, bless you.
Workout hobbies are always challenging and you can always improve, this is why they are good ones to avoid boredom. You won't get bored of something that challenges you, you'll be eager to improve. That being said, videogames can scratch that itch I suppose too, haha.
Scooby you are very right. Many of my coworkers that have retired and were sorry they did. They now got all of this time in their hands and feel purposely useless and are just waiting to die. Found out that paid permanent vacation wasn't what it was cracked up to be. Their health goes to he'll on them.
Have to agree with this. I quit my job cause of the stress and after about a month of being lazy and playing video games I'm now stressed and depressed for different reasons.. wish I could find what makes me happy and live on my terms
You don't know what you don't know. Read books or watch videos to get ideas of what could make you happy. Write all the crazy ideas down. What appeals to you? Visualise it and see what you can do to make it happen. Or find a less stressful job at least. Good luck and hope you figure it out!
Finished the vid. That's a coach I can work with :) And I can write a song. Not just write, I can record it, arrange it, play it, mix it and create a radio air time-grade quality product. I did it before and was aired. I can see trends that not many other people see and have valuable input on areas few other people do. I can perform as an actor or as an orator, doing comedy or speaking about serious topics, and people find it interesting. I can program and design games, which I enjoy as it incorporates a lot of art areas and also vision is crucial here. I can do a lot of stuff, but somehow I'm lonely, concerned, unhappy and not having any belief in the future or people around. Far from my perfect life. It's my birthday, so I thought I can try and share.
Happy birthday! So you are REALLY good at LOTS of things but what are your GOALS? Pursue those rather than what you are good at. Your life is out of alignment
Thank you, Scooby! Putting these abilities to good use are some of my goals. It's just having a history of frustrations and no certainty in tomorrow makes it hard to believe in good outcomes. But I see kindness in you finding time to answer me, even when receiving so many comments daily, which makes it a bit easier for me to believe that there's still good in people out there in my reach, I appreciate it. I'll focus on setting and following more goals instead of dwelling in my feelings then. Thank you again and have a good day :)
As odd as it sounds, I am actually very relieved to be out of the CZcams spotlight. 8 years ago I was the only chsnnel and my vids got about 200k views in the first week, now mine get maybe 20k. What I love it that now I can sctuslly reply to nice prople like you whereas before I was just inundated.
Indeed. I can't imagine how it feels like to have a giant community where every single new message is followed by another one in nano seconds, so that the community leader knows about his popularity but basically couldn't connect to neither of the people who are interested in his work other than by picking comments at pure random (or by streaming and using "top donations" method, which is probably worse). I've got an idea today. I think the best way to sort things out right now I can afford is to minimize all PC/mobile activity by absolute bare minimum (like working on projects, gather information, etc). The rule I set for myself is that every task for a computer device should be clearly stated, have a defined finish condition, and after reaching this condition the work on PC is immediately done. No more browsing feeds/consuming media that is not of absolute necessity for me for the coming week. Cheers! :)
No i mean it. I don't want him to fall or something just to film something for us. Plus he may enjoy his ride more when both his hands are on the bike :)
LOL! Just because something is more important does NOT mean it gets a bigger photo in my grid. Say your one and only passion in life is boxing. If you boxed 16 hours a day, you would be dead - literally. The most important things are not necessarily things you want to spend more time doing.
Great post Scooby! Close to retiring.. so this was a good reminder of some of my own thoughts on retirement. The guys who sit on a couch and watch TV all their waking hours after retirement die in 2 years.
Scooby, your amazing, thanks you for this. It help me a lot. I am down from 220 lbs to 195 lbs now. Mainly because of your video, you are a gift for me. Cheer!
Knowing what you love and creating something good isn't always the hard part. Usually it's 1. monetizing your activity to make a living 2. gaining audience.
You are right scooby. Plenty of people think their perfect day is a day surrounded by women or kissing women. But these are short-lived moments. After the first few minutes or hour, what are you going to do then? The truth is that most of these people fantasizing about women are scared and uncomfortable hanging around or even talking to women. They don't see the joy or pleasure in just engaging with a women so even if their perfect day happened, they'd get bored and confused after a few moments.
Max Henderson Well I ended up married with three kids and great job so it's working out for me, see I am always happy because I don't expect much from life.
You could think that my perfect hell would be biking in the slush of a snowstorm we have in sweden right now. But na. With some music and pods anything works. But dam it i miss the sun :/
Did you get the girls with the wig or the other way around haha ;-) Interesting lecture too. You seem to be coming from the argument of 'if you don't like what you're donig then move on/move location'. I think Timothy Leary vaunted that one.
I have three separate hours dedicated to good food --eating it! One hour for passive income/collecting checks but not sure how I would get there. Making me think for sure. The rest of the squares were easier to deploy to my hobbies and such.
Passive income... Rental properties, and stocks. Its not at easy or as cheap as some people on the internet would have you believe, but can be done. You need to earn allot of money through conventional means before you can make it happen.
Please do me a big favor and follow me on Instagram/scoobysworkshop, I need 700 more followers so I can post links.
Weird, there s no "follow" button next to your instagram. Its 10% you, 9 public posts, but no button and in fact just a # instead of a thumbnail...
Also this video is amazing. I think that lifestyle wisdom is where you truly stand out from the you-tube fitness crowd. Very genuine and thought through advice, and I am going to try the squares thing !
Instagram account created and now following Scooby!
thanks S333!
please to try the photo collage!
Weird how i started watching this channel when i was in middleschool simply for training advice and it's so much more than that
Same

Scooby's like a big brother for those of us without them
... and you are like kids for me because I dont have them :)
@@scooby1961 i thought you had kids. but i dont mind to be yours
Scooby, let me say from the bottom of my heart, you have helped me immensely in the past and am so grateful for all you do. I have recently got back into watching you and you only get better with age my friend. You are a good person. Thanks again.
you are quite welcome!
My perfect life is to just live in a small house, beat up car, and enjoy drawing portraits all day...but i have to work to support myself.. hmm
Sounds like the dream
My perfect day is to hang out with Scooby and Jeff Seid together while we all eat tons of ice cream and cake chased with beer, lol.
Thank you for the message Scooby. Yeah, I thought you wouldn't go for that. Thanks again for everything Scooby!
I was perusing exercise videos, researching, thinking I wanna get things in shape, and the reason I was intrigued by your channel is, you really show you care about people. Good job fellow.
Thanks! I DO care and one of the biggest challenges is to get people to plan long term rather than short term
You're a good man Scooby.

Ju On Ayy I'm in Sask as well. The weather has been quite warm this year, haha
Never get tired of seeing scooby bike and talk about life.
If it was a channel with 10 subscribers you'd think it's boring with the EXACT same content.
Very insightful stuff scooby! scooby1961 hey Scooby
Love that photos grid great idea !!
Keep up your inspirational work by the way what type of camera a you using ?
This needs to be shown to every person on the day they graduate college.
The landscape around you is awesome. Love these videos.
I multi-task when it does not decrease my enjoyment of either activity :)
My perfect life is having rental income provide for my living needs to the point where I can afford almost anything within reason on top of survival. Wow, Same thing here, same exact thing.
Amidst all the seasonal commercialism what a refreshing change of gear(pardon the cycling pun) to think about self improvement. Definitely will give this a go and look forward to the next video in this series. Thanks Scooby and Merry Christmas from England !
Please stay tuned for meet and greet announcements for London and Oxford in Dec/Jan!

Now that was some damn good advice ! Especially the part of imagining you already had a holiday first...
Scooby, this is one of the most insightful and valuable vids youve done in a long time... it really made me think and i got alot out of this one. And may i just add that california is one gorgeous state !
This was not my idea, I owe it to Sweat4health member Sean!
One of the most realistic person I have ever seen. Saluted brother!!
I think you have identified the reason I am no longer #1 fitness trainer on CZcams. In the beginning, there was just me and people didnt have a choice. brun what iof the 6 others?
2 others did also achieve and 3 not. So a 50:50 Chance :D
brun but according to Scooby this works. I wonder what went wrong? I guess the 3 just did not visualize hard enough
I think they dont visualized at all XD. Not everybody has the persistence or the belive in such methodes.
brun wow blame the person. Awesome. Just like prayers. It all come down to chance!
Thank you so much for this scooby, it made me realize some things about myself and now I'm on the verge of tears.
I can't express gratitude through words, bless you.
I love these type of vids . Superb !
I have great appreciation for these kind of videos Scooby! Thank you
THanks for this, im stuggling myself, but thankfull sorting stuff out in the next few months
The 16 picture grid is really helpful! Thanks scooby!

Scooby, fantastic. How easy is your system of 16 photos !!! Thank you very much !!!!
Been watching your videos for the longest time Scooby! Keep up the hard work :)
Love you man! Really needed to hear that today
I Love you Scooby, you have helped me so much in my life! And still do
Scooby's words are the first to go through Gods ears. You the man scooby 👍
Dear Scooby, You Are Amazing!!!
Wow this is such a perfect video for me right now, thanks Scooby! You are my hero by the way :)
Climbing at 3,000 feet with one hand. Good on you Scoob.
Every morning trail 30min , no phone .... just nature ... best start for perfect day ...
the sound steps make on nature are so relaxing, i do the same thing as you
Have to agree with this. I quit my job cause of the stress and after about a month of being lazy and playing video games I'm now stressed and depressed for different reasons.. wish I could find what makes me happy and live on my terms

Man, your videos are soooo helpful. I was just thinking about that exactly!
The best channel i ever subscribed, i wish i could become a good father figure just like you in the future, Scooby.
I love biking around the city I live in. I use it as my main way to get around, rain or shine, warm or cold.
Way to go!!! Biking for transportation is the ultimate in "multitasking" - you are getting exercise WHILE you commute!!!!
Scooby beastin out with that Jeff Seid thumbnail reference!!! You the man, Scoobs!
See where I talk about that image at the end of the video :)
great wisdom Scoobs, thank you. Always enjoy your videos.
Finished the vid. That's a coach I can work with :)
And I can write a song.
As odd as it sounds, I am actually very relieved to be out of the CZcams spotlight. 8 years ago I was the only chsnnel and my vids got about 200k views in the first week, now mine get maybe 20k.
Cheers! :)
Great motivation I need right now. Thanxs for the vid
Great thanks scooby I use this for business too lots of goals !
so simple and practical, but not easy!
Thank you! You are an inspiration!
Love the bike ride videos! Thank you for the insight and great ideas scoob!
Fantastic video scooby thank you for taking the time to make and do all the editing for it this is 1 of the best fitness channels on youtube
Thanks CrazyIrishman!
thank you for this but i all ready have the perfect life, I am a live
Scooby a lot of this sounds like Jordan Peterson Maps of meaning lecture. Worth watching
Hey scooby could you please invest in a bicycle camera mount. I don't want you to injure yourself or anything while vlogging :)
i cant tell if this is condescension or a genuine concern. i like it either way
No i mean it. I don't want him to fall or something just to film something for us. Plus he may enjoy his ride more when both his hands are on the bike :)
Hey, at least Scott got ONE square.
LOL! Just because something is more important does NOT mean it gets a bigger photo in my grid. Say your one and only passion in life is boxing. If you boxed 16 hours a day, you would be dead - literally. The most important things are not necessarily things you want to spend more time doing.
Thanks for another great video! You’re a great role model!
I like the way you inspire in your videos ....i do take what you say day to day with my life and family...👍
Look forward to next week's video, and thanks for the visualization exercise too!
Scoobys shadow doesnt look near as swoll as regular Scooby!! Wht up wit dat!!😁
💪
Thanks for everything Dad! Haha I mean Scooby!!
Great post Scooby! Close to retiring.. so this was a good reminder of some of my own thoughts on retirement. The guys who sit on a couch and watch TV all their waking hours after retirement die in 2 years.
I hate that you're older than my parents and are healthier than most people my age.
Scooby, your amazing, thanks you for this. It help me a lot. I am down from 220 lbs to 195 lbs now. Mainly because of your video, you are a gift for me. Cheer!
That is great to hear!!! Congrats on shedding that 25lbs!!!
WOW ! THANKS FOR SHARING SIR
Great words or wisdom, Scooby! Thank you!
This is great stuff. I definitely don’t want to retire if I can get into a career where I love Mondays.
Good video matey 👍🏻
Best wishes from freezing cold London (not so perfect 😃)
Thank you for this amazing video, Peter Zane!
Auf wiedersehen ;)
and no scooby, my perfect life is going to tropical islands, such as kauai, and it never gets boring
Great advice Uncle Scooby~ :)
Scooby legendary
It's kinda funny and cool that you can ride a bike like this and still do a video :D
"Closed track, professional driver - do not try this at home" :)
Thank you Scooby
I'm already living my perfect life😃😃😀😀
I don't like goals, I just let life take me where it leads me.
John Ward ie. nowhere?
Max Henderson Well I ended up married with three kids and great job so it's working out for me, see I am always happy because I don't expect much from life.
Be careful making your kids be your goal. When they leave, you have nothing
You could think that my perfect hell would be biking in the slush of a snowstorm we have in sweden right now. But na. With some music and pods anything works. But dam it i miss the sun :/
For a while i thought that was Zyzz but then it was Jeff Seid doing the Zyzz'' pose. LoL
My life is already perfect. Still very good video thanks
Thank you, Scooby, for the inspirational words!
Thank you so muuuch 🙋 Schönen Gruß aus Deutschland
Von mir auch! Keep on the good work, Scooby!
Who wants girls put their hands on your abs? Just saying.. 😏😂
I agree!!
I prefer girls putting their mouth on my dong
8 hour of work, 8 hour of play, 8 hour of rest.
No, 16 hours of play and 8 hours of rest!
+scooby1961 I left an 11 year career in healthcare and started a garden maintenance business. Best "career" move I made.
Thanks for your wisdom Scoob.
Awesome !!!
Did you get the girls with the wig or the other way around haha ;-) Interesting lecture too. You seem to be coming from the argument of 'if you don't like what you're donig then move on/move location'. I think Timothy Leary vaunted that one.
great stuff Scooby
Scooby, do you authorize me to translate the subtitles to Portuguese ( Brazil )?
4 hours cycling. 1 hour weight lifting and one more running. Damn.
thank you
Aren't you neglecting your wonderful hubby?(according to your grid).Great respect for you Scooby!
Yep. Engineers usually have a nice income to build on.
great message, thx scoob
cant wait for next vid scoob
Great vid. Your Special Friends still love you.
