    I'm retired now 2 years. I have been power washing house and other things for 3 years. Anyway the older I get makes the ladder time harder and harder. I must say I like your point blank and bluntness. Not only do I like that I like the idea of you telling me how I can do this side line on a scale that I can work with.
    My set up is a Simmons power washer and a little red garden wagon with all my tips and hoses plus the cems that I use. Its a small set up but works nicely with my handy man service that I have. Easy to off load and on load for the next job. (On and off my trailer) thanks again for your video

    Thanks for the video. Used the same formula today. Most of the houses in this neighborhood need washing. People come by and just look at what I’m doing. Their car is clean and waxed but house has all this green algae on it, got their priorities mixed up. They spend $600.00 having someone wash and wax their car but can’t pay me $400.00 to wash their house once a year.Funny.

    Hello dan, I use a high/low nozzle, what that does is change the pressure as the name just from high pressure (water) to low pressure for siphoning. It potential he save a few minutes per job from having to switch nozzles will pull your siphoning rig to start rinsing. Real neat and I think it's worth looking into for you.

    • @DansVlog
      @DansVlog  Před 7 lety +1

      +Nathaniel Miller Thank you but it should be said, I don't use high pressure ever. I always use low pressure (black and pink tips only). I just turn off the siphon when I rinse.

    Great video. How do you get the chemical flowing through the pressure system. From my understanding you connect the pump to the customers Spicket on the in Port of the pump and then have the second hose on the out port to the sprayer. Where in the flow Do you get the chemicals from? Does it have something to do with the siphon you mention and if so, how does that work. This is probably an obvious question but I have zero experience. Thanks

    Last question, does 2.7 gpm just mean I have to get closer to the surface in order to have the same effect as a 4 gpm? Or does gpm just limit how far the water can travel (not the strength)

    • @DansVlog
      @DansVlog  Před 5 lety +11

      OK let me try to explain this to you in a way that hopefully won’t confuse you. Gallons per minute and pressure are two very different things. The lower the pressure the closer you might have to stand to clean something off like old gum on a concrete sidewalk. You would use the pressure to peel off the gum. Gallons per minute has nothing to do with pressure and everything to do with volume. The more volume you’re working with the faster you can clean. Imagine you’re standing at the beach and a 5 foot wave hits you. That’s a certain amount of volume. Now compare that to a 2 foot wave hitting you… A lot less volume. Now as you watch my videos using the black tip and the pink tip… My 4 gallon per minute pump is pushing a certain amount of volume, there is no pressure because the black tip and the pink tip pretty much allow for free flow otherwise the siphon would not work right? Your 2.7 gallons per minute pump will also free flow, but it’s flowing with a lot less volume. I have a 5 foot waves hitting the side of the house while you would have a 2 foot waves hitting the side of the house. Which wave or gallon per minute is going to help you move faster while cleaning? Keep in mind pressure has nothing to do with volume. Now add to that a 2 foot wave is only going to travel so far up the beach where as a 5 foot wave will travel much farther up the beach… Neither wave has any pressure behind it, only volume… The 5 foot wave will hit the second story (peak) where a 2 foot wave will not

    Based on my 50/50 test with household bleach on concrete, it's going to discolor any areas affected by the run off on the concrete back/front porch and driveway yes? In that case do you use that as a selling point to pressure washing the concrete or is it considered collateral damage if they choose not to?

      Hey that is great news about starting your business, good luck I wish you the best. To get to your question, I do not know what home armor it so I cannot speak to any other solutions for chemicals but I can confidently say from my experience the recipe that I recommend with the 10.5% or less sodium hypochlorite is not going to damage the solar screens on your customers homes. If it’s very concerning to you, avoid spraying the windows directly and rinse it off as you apply your bleach to each side of the house before moving on to the next side

      @@DansVlog Thank you! I have a simple (non commercial) 3.2gpm/3200 psi Simpson set up in addition to my (2yr old) backup Briggs/Stratton at the moment. It is a simple basic residential PW setup. I have since accumulated many needed items... 18ft pole, all tips, foam gun if needed, 50 ft hoses and much needed surface cleaner for driveways. Also, I had a plugged nozzle in the surface cleaner (disc) and called the manufacturer after only having a week, and they honored their 90 day warranty, so basically (with a quick fix) now have 2! My main game is driveways, patios, sidewalk, curbs on weekends as I have a full time 8-5 job. I got 2 kiddos and found out recently, I will be having a 3rd later this year. Time to kick it up a notch!
      My HOA just sent out a notice for all residents to get on top of the mold and mildew on the houses or get the letters! (great for me). In biz for one month, and my phone is ringing as I am getting recommendations online (nextdoor). Not much invested in marketing (except magnets and biz cards) I have watched many of your videos and appreciate all your knowledge! I have been to walmart and picked up 6 gallons of the cheap concentrate (pool bleach) you recommend. The home armor is the green jog that is basic proprietary soap and bleach to try out bc I am new at this. Prob a one time buy. Anyway, I have no down stream injector and will have to learn tricks for now about application of "soap" on homes with 2 stories. Over time I will gain confidence and knowledge and get the hang of this in no time! Maybe in a few months I will want to get a truck mounted deal as well. Again, thanks for the reply and the great DIY videos! Hope all is well with you and your kids! Keep the videos coming!

    Hey bud great work! Question, I know you said you put aBout 3 gallons of 8.25 bleach in the bucket so your not mixing the water and bleach together. How do you know how much bleach and water is being mix when siphoned? Thx bud!

    • @DansVlog
      @DansVlog  Před 2 lety

      My injector at the pump is a 20:1 but I don’t honestly care about ratios. The name of the game is save save save. Apply the chemicals as thin as possible and add only if needed til you find a recipe that works. For me and my pump and my technique, I run from 10% down to 7% straight with no diluting and I let my siphon do the mixing (20:1). If the house is not bad, I might run 2 gls 10% and 1 gl water in a bucket and then downstream it.

    Dan, doing a house near the bay next week. the concrete is really dirty, can i use bleach with a surface cleaner, run a 4 gpm dewalt/honda

    • @DansVlog
      @DansVlog  Před 5 lety

      No need for bleach, just use the surface cleaner. However, When you’re using the surface cleaner it’s putting back pressure in the hose so it is not going to siphon. The siphon will only suck and bleach and detergent if you’re using the black tip or the pink tip. When people use bleach and chemicals on driveways and sidewalks they first spray it down with the black tip and then they put the surface cleaner on and then they start working

    Thanks for the videos Dan, they're interesting to watch and I've learned a lot. I have a window cleaning business and have been washing some siding with just brushes and rinsing with a hose, its labour intensive and takes a lot out of a guy. I'm watching you clean a house in a 1/4 of the time or less than it takes me. I have a pressure washer, it's a 3000psi, 3gpm unit, will this work for what you're doing, or do I need a 4gpm unit?

    • @flatline0817

      You can make some serious cash soft washing a house and it only takes 1 to 1.5hrs if you know what you're doing. 3000 psi should be sufficient.
