It sucks for men! I mean how does a guy with that much hair end up going bald in a pretty short time! It doesn't take away from his talent and his magnetism at all. I'm just saying, it's not fair! 😅
James Spader has an old soul. I love how he, especially at that age, is all about his family and his acting, he takes it very seriously. In many interviews when he was young, he really has to straighten out many of the interviewers who treat him like he's all about being a sex object (this interviewer did not, she was fine) and who assume that he is not a serious actor due to how many viewers "see" him. James, even at that age, did not fall for the glam, he was all about working hard to be the best actor he could be.
I’m really surprised as the only thing I’ve noticed him in was Boston Legal & I loved his character! I have seen clips of Pretty in Pink, but have not seen the whole movie.
He must be the most original guy I’ve ever seen. Love his way of talking. He really puts his heart and thoughts when talking. Very charismatic. So glad he chose the acor carreer. He has made so many memorable and amazing characters, and people never seems to get enough of him. I certainly understad why! Love this guy

I recently re-watched Pretty in Pink and now, as a grandma, I found James' character to be very sympathetic. James had, even then, that ability to convey so much with a look or a tone of voice that adds dimension to any character he portrays.
I'm from Boston and cape cod as well.i didn't know this about him.the way he described his character in pretty in pink made me laugh,that he thought he was too old to be believed in high school, but I think alot of actors are older than who they play.he was awesome in pretty in and pink always makes the movie that much better

I don't know why, but I'm just now watching The Blacklist. I'm binging this show! His Redington character is amazing. Redington for me is a natural progression of Alan in The Practice and Boston Legal. He's like Alan but way more intense, but still has a bit of that humor.
He was one of the best 80's villains. He was also a good 80's hero in a couple flicks, and destroyed all typecasts when he did Stargate. I remember him as such an intimidating nightmare of a person in this movie, and he was way worse in Less Than Zero.
People forget he was in “Endless Love” being the overbearing brother of Brook Shields. Tom Cruise also made his debut in that movie with a very small role. Just think Tom Cruise had a scene with Brook Shields. Remember that interview with Matt Lauer on The Today Show about Brook Shields taking meds for depression?
Best interview of him I've seen. I knew he was in a boardingh school before leaving for acting in NY at 17 but had no idea of the circumstances. Amazing. FYI, he later goes on to loathe Bobbie Wygant.

One of the best actors ever to portray jerks you love to hate. Pretty in Pink, Less Than Zero, Mannequin… He made you question why you were so attracted to such a sleazy guy! Because he seemed deeper than the surface. Sexy as hell, but you can’t tell if he’s being sincere or just playing you…. Amazing actor!
Seems like he knew a lot of Stephs although it wasn't a negative experience for him (lucky he's not a girl lol)! He should have been in Masquerade with Meg Tilly! Seems like so close to his life! He's done a lot of fun roles-- he just got type cast as the Uptight Yuppy at some point, but maybe that's just from growing up in boarding school/wealthy towns. Glad he and McCarthy stayed pals over the years.
