- Sky News host Rowan Dean says there have been mass protests in Canada involving convoys of trucks which went largely unnoticed by the media.
Vision shows large numbers of truck drivers protesting against vaccine mandates which were imposed on drivers whose job is to frequently cross the US-Canada border.
“It is mind-blowing how big this protest is and how the media has managed to either completely ignore it or misrepresent it,” Sky News host Rita Panahi said.

Hello. These truckers are out of their minds. The US has had well over 900,000 deaths from Covid. Do we want Canadian truckers to go down into this pandemic area and return to Canada with the virus? 50,000 truck drivers have driven for 5 days from all regions, 8ml $ have been raised to help the drivers with petrol and supplies. The latest vision shows thousands and thousands of ordinary Canadians coming to help the peaceful protest. I live in Ottawa. We live within mere feet of the freeway that leads to downtown, and hearing the horns honking yesterday was unreal. My son and his buddies went downtown, his car covered in flags, to join the protest. For my son and his friends, all 19 yrs old and all fully vaccinated, this was very much about the having every bit of enjoyment taken from them in the last 2 years. They are angry. They are fed up. They feel no hope for their future.

My entire family took part in supporting the huge convoy passing by our city. It was families, children, the elderly. It’s an incredible thing to see. And whenever our government paid media showed up the people looked at them with total contempt. I was at Parliament Hill on Saturday and Sunday. Yes, it was incredible. There are no litter bins on Wellington, probably because they're scared of bombs, but the truckers had large black bin bags and tied them to lamp posts, their trucks, sign posts, etc., and everyone used them. No garbage anywhere. Such respect! You should see the place at the end of Canada Day - it's knee deep in garbage and a crew has to work all night to clean it up. And, yes, it was cold. -23 C on Saturday. There were some great signs too. I liked one that had some prison bars with two hands gripping them from inside the cell. The heading was Trudeau's New Home and the caption at the bottom was simply: Crime Minister.
