  • Hi friends! So I have been seeing a lot of moms using binders with fun activities for their toddlers to learn the basics. So, over the summer I decided to put something together for Samara's Tot School. I got some ideas from Jady A and A Mom's World here on youtube. If you're interested in where I found the materials and pages that I didn't make myself, then check the links out below.

    I babysit my 20 month old grandson. My son has asked me to teach him French, so that is what we are doing. I heard about these notebooks and decided to give it a whirl. Holy toledo, was it ever a huge hit! He was thrilled to see his name in big letters on the front. He kept pointing from the letters to himself. He wandered around the house showing his parents his work that he had done. Just the cutest thing ever. I am sold on notebooking since seeing my grandson's reaction. This is going to be a very nice way to document his accomplishments.

    Thanks for sharing! Excited to make one. My 2 year old loves to learn. It's truly amazing, they love it. Wish more people realized they can start earlier than school age.

I've just started home-schooling my four year old, we try to start with a book every morning, but I think sometimes she gets bored. And since I have my baby too, I need to multi-task like most mom's I guess...:) you are doing a great job! thank you for sharing and great ideas! I will have to try the matching colour apples!

    I love these!! I will be homeschooling my two girls too! My oldest is 3.5 years old and my little one is almost 15 months old. I’ve found so many things in your videos very helpful already! One thing I’m struggling with are the little velcro dots! I ordered one on the links and it’s too big.. 3/4”. Are there clear ones? Some of them will be covering up the numbers/pictures. Not sure if you had a better link for mini dots or even clear ones if possible?! Thanks so much! Keep the videos coming I love them so far! I’m a CZcamsr as well, trying to be more consistent. Diving into the homeschooling is very time consuming! 😊💕

    Love this! Do you rotate the pages out at all? I feel like the info becomes stale after a few weeks and I’m scared to death my toddlers will end up hating school if I force the same info on them. The velcro matching has been the absolute best way for my kids to learn quickly.
    Next up for us is creating family photo matching pages or flash cards. Our family is really big, and functions can be overwhelming without knowing familiar faces. Excited to see what everyone else shares!

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  Před 4 lety

      We haven't changed up the pages at all yet. But sometime we will start at a different section of the binder. We don't get through all the pages in one day either. so in that way, it is kind of different. We also do a lot of other activities during the day to keep learning fresh.
      I know what you mean though. With my oldest, we have definitely had those moments where she says "I DONT WANT TO DO SCHOOOOOOOOL!!!". and it legitimately terrifies me. But, she's 4 and strong willed. The next day she's usually asking for more tracing pages to do haha! I try to feel them out and not push anything on them, while keeping it as fun and energetic as I can.
      Also, I LOVE the idea of family photo flash cards. I saw that in someone else's video last year I think. My family is big too, so I think I'm going to make something like that for both my girls! Thank you for that idea!!! also, sorry for the novel of a comment haha

We went over the date, days of the week, months of the year, and emotions this morning. But she completely refused to do the 2 activity pages (one of the shadow pages and her name). But maybe I will put together a video with more ideas for others in the same position.

      I know this is a few months late, but you can also do movement songs like Shake My Sillies out, Do as I’m Doing, and Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. You can also make an obstacle course, do bowling (put sand in clean empty 2 liter soda bottles), use a small parachute, pop bubbles with different parts of your body, move like different animals, dance with streamers to music of different tempos. There’s a ton of different movement songs on CZcams that are great.

    • @BrittanyLynnHomeschool
      @BrittanyLynnHomeschool  Před 3 lety +1

      as for the identical pages, for some it is nice to have it right in your lap to learn. Most of them are interactive pages that get the child engaged and hands on. Instead of just pointing to something on the wall.

    hello my little one is 18 months and I wonder what do oyu recomend when they start drawing, of course she just do lines but shoul I teach her something? or just let her draw lines? , also at the kindergarden they told me if she paint or use her hand to paint with water colors or something like that, but how can I introduce that to a little one that can maybe get upset and start shaking the pencil, and splashes on the room . what kind of games and paints that be save can I use?

      there is a link in the description to the tot schooling website I talk about in the video. The pages that I mention are from that sight, will be available there. The ones that I mention making myself do not have a link to be printed.

      Irtaza Mashhood I’m sorry that the link isn’t working for you. I just checked it and it is working fine for me. As for the name page, I made it myself. It’s pretty easy if you have Microsoft word or pages on MacBook.
