These hearings are nothing but opportunities for Congressmen to "showboat." The first, most important part of a fully-functional representative government is that members of the government need to be accountable for their actions; they need to answer question with answers instead of distractions and stonewalling, and they need to be removed and prosecuted when blocking or found doing anything other. When this does not happen we NO LONGER HAVE A FUNCTIONAL REPRESENTATIVE GOVERNMENT.
