Just showing you how I make Buka Stew. I should mention that normally, I would use just bleached palm oil throughout but I didn't have enough, hence the need to incorporate vegetable oil.
Deleted a couple of "too much oil" comments already.
Read the caption, it clearly states Buka Stew this is not a Fitfam, healthy type stew. This is BUKA STEW in all its glory You can't skimp on oil when making Buka stew, you'll end up with boiled stew. You"ll never see any actual BUKA STEW without oul floating on the top, the oil is usually skimmed off after cooking.
I will not ruin a classic recipe by trying to modify it to suit anyone's idea of healthy recipes.
I hate that I feel the need to explain something so simple but here we are..
Ingredients:
Boiled Assorted Meats- Beef, Goat Meat, Cow Foot, Ponmo and Offals are ideal

4 Big Bell Peppers (Tatashe)
4 Tomatoes
3 Scotch Bonnet Peppers (Ata rodo)
4 Chilli Peppers (Shombo)
2 Big Onions

I just tried this recipe and I would be ungrateful not to come back here to say thank you!!!!!!!!!!! my Sunday lunch was litttttttt
Don't mind the oil questioning and nosy picking. If it's an italian recipe nobody will turn up there nose or ask questions. You dont love Nigerian cuisine , theres plenty of options on youtube. Please dont change our meals to suite anyone's palate. Keep up the good work. Next show them how to pair it with ewedu and amala.
Absolutely and if they know anything about Nigerian cooking they would know it's required for the authentic taste.
Exactly 💯
Correct 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
The worst part of it is that it's even fellow Nigerians (people from the East especially) that go around condeming other triibes for adding too much oil (in their own opinion) to food. They'll even insult you on j top your own food
@@estherbadmus7513 Please respect yourself with that comment about people from the East.
The colour, the absolutely beautiful red colour...... This is what drew me to this video. Looks completely delicious. Thanks for the recipe.
I just finished downing this stew with ewedu and gbegiri. It was perfect, as in authentic buka stew in all its glory. Thanks for this and keep up the good work. And I'm fitfam but abeg, there's a reason for the recipe. Everything balances out as long as you're not drinking oil everyday.
I watched and made this yesterday. Very easy to follow the process! I decided to use both the bleached palm oil and vegetable oil too. Love the outcome. Thanks Sisi J!
Tried this recipe today, it turned out great and tasted delicious - husband also approved. Thank you.
Straight to the point, you're brilliant!
❤️ all of your videos, always short simple and straight to the point !
I love and hate these videos.
I love learning, I love the way the food turns out, I love that I can almost taste the food.
I hate once the cooking is done, I don’t get to eat some of the meal then and there 🤣🤣

It will be wickedness if I dont like, comment and subscribe to your channel.i just finished cooking and this is the best stew I have made in my life.I added just one scotch bonnet because my husband doesn't like chilli.when I added the blended stuff to the oil it was different from what I was watching lol I became skeptical about the result so I added little olive oil again(that's what I use to cook)allowed it dry up a little and it came out soooooo delicious. Thanks dear God bless you.
I love your videos, not a lot of talking and talking straight to the point and very good food.

I know, I’m coming here 2 years later and I’m trying to perfect my abula meal recipe and the stew is just my last hurdle. This looks delicious btw and i can’t wait to try your recipe, even my husband likes the oil floating on top. I just had one question, when you fry for 30 mins, is it on low heat or medium heat?

Hello am based in d uk.Could anyone on this platform kindly give an eg of Bouillon cube in London? I would like 2 try out d above recipe but am not sure which stock cube etc it might b..Thanks in advance 🙏😊😁
I don't reside in London but I assume Maggi or Knorr is available there esp with the high number of Nigerians there.
Knorr is all over London
Please ma can you tell me why you always cover your stew with that net sivf
Hi, sorry i didnt see you use tomato paste, does it mean it is not neccesary.
Oga ju.
Is there a reason you added onions before frying the meat?
For flavour...
Gives it a heavenly flavor 👅👅
Does anyone know how many people this feeds?
Plz I don't really take Pepper.. How Peppery is this stew I'll love to make it
Where did you buy ponmo and ofals?
Walai you can get them all fresh or frozen in all African shops. Indian grocers too. Google for one closest to you. Adesfoods co uk has delivered frozen to us next day guaranteed dpd
Is it okay to cover the pot with it's actual lid while frying the stew for the 30 mins(to avoid it splashing all over the cooker)?
Yes but a cover where the heat can go out a bit
@@amentips8152 thank you.
Sisi, please what's the brand name of your blender?
Ninja!
You are too much sis👌well done xx
Ha! I don bite my phone
Please what's the base of your meat stock? You didn't show the preparation of your meat
Why skim the excess oil, the sweetness is in mixing the whole combo together. It's not like one eats it everyday jor.
Tell em óó 🧔🏿😅👋🏿👩🏿
She said that b4 the oil police them come for her
Alberta Taiye 🤣🤣🤣 in fact, read the description box. she said she has deleted a lot of “too much oil” comments. the oil police are in full force
That needs more seasonings for sure
Not sure what you mean by seasoning. I don't use seasoning (Curry, Thyme etc.) in palm oil based stews. It's a No No. If you mean salt and bouillon cubes, I added bouillon cubes at the start, my meat stock was well seasoned) hence the need for no extra salt
How can you know something needs more seasoning without tasting it. I'm curious to know your reasoning
@@aesinam it's clear you didnt read what I said in my second comment I've done it before and it was bland 😂😂.
Well taste buds are not the same so what tastes bland to you may taste alright to someone else
Did you boil the pepper/tomatoe mix to reduce water prior to frying?
I think she either blended it without water or strained the water out.
You did not state what went into your cooked meat.
The flower vast next to a cooking pot is not necessary
Did not understand anything
Palm oil is not healthy!!! Why so much oil, fat…? I’m just curious…
This is not authentic buka stew. The meat for buka stew isn't fried, it is cooked in Imoyo.
