Sisi Jemimah are you single?
Is there anything you cant cook? These are excellent!
Watch out. I didn't know pepper contain worms until my customer showed me some. This is talking about pepper that are not really fresh (with wrinkles).
I wish I had one on one classes, I'm South African but like Nigerian food so much. Would like to know how to make the food myself and where to get the ingredients in South Africa. The soup looks delicious and very tasty.
@@mamamadimo7043 I'm you will get them at the local market over there, the main thing to have is the egusi (melon seeds)
For those that don't always have the complete ingredients gather here 😂
This is me 😂
Hahahahahhahahaha
Nna ehn
I’m out here asking if you need uziza seed Bc I don’t have it 😂😂
Amen
Haha 😄 🤣 I'm here lol
I am not Nigerian but my husband is and he is also a very good cook himself. I made this for him today for the first time in out 30 year marriage and he loved it. He said it was restaurant level cooking. I am Jamaican so our style of cooking is similar in some ways so watching your video and after having watched he and his family cook it was not hard at all. Very tasty. Thanks for your instructions. He was so proud of it he sent pictures out to all his family. 😀
Oh this is nice and interesting
Please what ingredients did it requires to make it so delicious like your own
Awwww❤
Can you find one Jamaican wife for me 😅
The fact he sent pics of it to friends and family you know it’s good!

As an AA married to a very traditional Yoruba man, learning from you has be easy! This is now my 100th 🤣time watching lol…not really but I’m constantly rewinding to ensure I don’t miss a step. This is my 3rd time making egusi. Tomorrow I want to tackle okra stew 🍲
You are doing great, good wife taking care of my fellow Yoruba brother. Stick with your hussbbandd o lol( like they say in the South US of A). Blessings.
I hope he is cooking for you also
@@lauradempsey2703 Hahaha. I hope he does once awhile.
Nice one!
The purpose of a stew is to put a bunch of leftovers in a pot and make it hardy. I can tell egusi was created for that purpose but as a cook I had this and some of the things doesn't have a good marriage. Cooking is a science and should have a balance chemistry. Crayfish, goat and palm oil with a tripe? Crayfish is extremely fishy and palm oil I recommend shouldn't be used for consumption but perfect for cosmetics, in which they do use. I will be doing my version and have my African friends try it. Mind you I do not repeat do not like changing the authentic way and I don't usually do this but I want to enjoy food from the motherland!
I'm an African American and I absolutely love eguisi soup!!! It's the best soup in the world!!
Nice ❤️
It really is
It's already in your African genes .The food of your ancestors .
Same. I love it too.
is resonates with our dna lol fr

Oybo here. Egusi is my favourite dish in the whole world by a mile!!! No shaking ooooo
Beautiful
I followed ur recipe and made it for the First time my boyfriend was amazed how delicious it was...my daughter liked it..we are Sierra leoneans
It seems vert delicious . I 'll try it .
After watching this tutorial, i tried to calculate all the minutes she was saying before the Egusi soup is finally ready, which i lost counting and just have to surrender on that but to say a big Thank you to all OUR Mothers, Wifes and to those who spent more than 30 minutes in the kitchen just to make sure we eat a delicious meal. Thank you so very much 🙏🏾
Well Paul did say "and lastly my brothers"..and he went to write three more chapters. 😂😂

Thank you sooo much I made this for my lady and mother in law for mothers day and they licked the plate clean...finished off with Yellow Eba and as we do not eat meat it was all seafood👍🏿👍🏿😁😁❤️❤️❤️
I made this for my dad and now he won't stop monitoring the kitchen 😂😂
Me too
He’s checking if there’s more?🤣❤️
Blessing my dear
Hahaha... Egusi turn man to monitoring spirit 😂🤣
Lmao
I had to let the ancestors speak to me because you didn’t really use measurements. But that’s ok because the ancestors came through and this came out amazing. First time ever making Egusi stew. I was introduced to Egusi stew for the first time last year and I’m in love. This is a great recipe. 10/10.
The measurements are in the description.........
I am sudanese and I am huge fun of Nigerian food . One love from tokyo Japan to my people
I’m a bachelor in the UK, if this video could speak it would say ‘I’ve watched it million times’. The video is gold
I'm American and I'm always cooking Nigerian food because I used to live in Nigeria 10 years ago and I found this to be the easiest pot of egusii soup I've ever made and it and it was delicious 😋
Seem like this video involves alot I like the 1st one better
My brother is in town with his girlfriend. It’s sooo cold! I woke up early to make this for them, my hubby and kids! 🚀🛰👽 Sis your step by step instructions for layering flavor is 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾 I hope my bro does the right thing and proposes! Thank you for helping serve an amazing big sister dinner.

It looks so delicious keep it up
As a South African I just want to say thank you for your guidance. I have watched this video multiple times and you TEACH me something new with every click. My hubby has complimented the soup ❤️
Where did you get all the ingredients?
I’m African American, I want to try this so bad. Found a Nigerian restaurant about 1.5 hours away. I will have fufu and eguise oneday
You will love it. It’s a bit spicy but that’s okay. The flavors are great.
It speaks to your soul! I swear the soul food flavors are similiar but different. It is good.
Same girl. They shame us for having no culture but don’t realize it’s hard asl trying to find it from the States 🤣😭
Did you try?
@@kay-ty5rx lmao no it’s not hard to find it in the states 😂 y’all just never cared to look, eat, or learn our culture until 2020 or when it’s trending. Us Nigerians are everywhere across the states and abroad.
I love this dish, after watching this I've just made a decision to go to a Nigerian restaurant instead of trying to cook this recipe.
Try to edit your videos to be shorter. You can remove some details, we really don't need to see how you cut your peppers and the length of time of it take for it to blend or watch you slicing vegetables
@@diffchannelguy8813 I personally appreciate every step plus I think you can skip the parts you don't want to watch
THE FOOD SLAPS!!!!!
I followed this recipe to a T. And I hate hate hate CZcams cooking videos as half of the time they are doing stuff in the background and the food never tatste like they make it out. But GUYS!! TRUST ME. THIS IS THE ONE.
I'M a London babe and my family mocks me for not making/knowing foods but I'm about to wipe the smiles of Der faces with this bad boy
Sisi Jemimah you’re heaven sent I followed your recipe stage by stage for a first time egusi maker and I must tell you this food tastes better than buying outside . Love it
Made this for the first time for my sister and her Nigerian in laws and your recipe is full proof, clear and easy to follow. Thank you 🥲🥰🥳 love your recipes going to try more !
It was the loss of meat along the way for me😅🤣 love the recipe. Thanks for sharing
You and me both. 🤣

When you only eat east cuisine but trying to impress your Nigerian man 😂 so here I am
Hello sister. This is hands down the best egusi recipe ever existed!Easy to cook and soooo delicious! Surprised my family with a yummy homemade dish.Combined with rice, spaghetti, semo, you name it. Love it! Even though I didn't have all the ingredients, it was heavenly!God bless you

OMG im Sierra Leonean and i tried it for the first. It came out bomb!!❤️❤️

Finally, I made my first solo egusi soup today and it was so delicious . 100% thanks to you 😊.
I made this today and it was the best I've ever made. My household couldn't stop eating. Thank you!!!
U broke this down to the science. Love it
Am East African.
But I tried it with incomplete ingredients .
Trust me it was so yummy.
Egusi is tasty even when it is made with incomplete ingredients and that is one of the reasons I like it so much. Greetings from Nigeria.
Although this is a year old I have used your receipy today & my entire family love it 😍 it turned out so perfectly!
In reference to the oil...”Let God be judge, please” Love it!
I made a vegan version. It came out perfect after two times. Thanks.
What all did you use I would like to make a vegan or vegetarian version
@@thegoddesscomplexllc I used the same ingredients minus the meat, chicken stock, chicken bullion cubes, powdered fish etc. I used vegetarian broth and extra spinach.
I replaced all the ingredients by substitutes. It was beyond perfection
Also a tip for cooking Nigerian food as a vegan, seaweed gives a really good “fishy” flavor for soups. I put mine in egusi
@@ebereakwari1410 Yea. I’m not big on seaweed, but I’ll consider if I’m feeling dangerous.
Wow. It’s really cool to learn about foods from different cultures, so interesting! Thanks so much for sharing ☺️
You're welcome 😊
You’re the best , I’m Nigerian 🇳🇬 in Canada 🇨🇦 , my girlfriend is white Canadian and I don’t even have to teach her coz she plays your video large on our kitchen Tv and cook along with you 😊 you’re the best teacher and the meal came out as perfect as urs God bless u Dear 🙏🏽
FINALLY!!!🎉🎉🎉 I always have a difficult time finding African Food recipe vids in which ALL of the ingredients used are explained. I was searching for an Egusi Soup video & all the ones I found skipped explaining a lot of key ingredients &/or methods (they would just film the ingredients or speak generally {I.e. grind your pepper 🌶️ mix and then place to the side}. I’d always be sitting there like WHAT ARE THE PEPPERS?! Or they’d just show certain points in the cooking without telling what they were doing or why. Your video was such an amazingly made & informative one! I appreciate you speaking clearly & slowly! TY! ☺️🙏🏽
My husband and I enjoyed this recipe. Thank you for your time.
I love the way you cook, I already subscribed to your channel after watching the way you prepared your okoro soup and fried rice, I don't think I need to watch any other Nigerian cooking channel. Keep up the good work ma. You are a great cook. God Almighty bless the works of your hands
Omg! Your recipe is fire 😁🥰 my girlfriend and friends can't stop asking for more lol
My first time here and I knew you're a good cook when you first steamed the meats before adding water! Just like my grandma would have done. Thanks for the upload. Trying this method today🤗🤗😍
I recreated this recipe and my husband loves it so much. Weldone ma'am
Thank you u for explaining it step by step can’t wait to cook this
I'am Liberian and I'm definitely making this today...you explained this very well...I can't wait...thank you🥰🥰🥰
I prepared it and ! Oh my ghoss! It's awesome, my hubby asked me to prepare it every day. My kid ate like never before
OMG this looks amazing. I'm always afraid of pouring in so much oil but I really think that that's what brings the right flavour.

Almost 2hours to make this one, seems I have been eating uncooked Egusi all this while. I thought it was the fastest soup to make. How are we going to take the dishes bayi 😁
best thing i’ve ever made and eaten sooooo good thank you ! everyone i made it for also loved it.

We eat with our eyes first before our mouth 👄 isn’t that what they say, this looks absolutely scrumptious 😋 I can’t wait to try it out......👊🏿
Nice one.
Just to add that you can also wash vegetables in salt solution to kill germs. Soak them for some 5-10mins. Same works with fruits as well to remove toxins.
Keep up the good work.
Thanks for sharing, about fruits
We used to wash vegetables and fruit in Milton liquid in Kaduna. It was the best way to avoid stomach upsets.
Best egusi soup I have seen so far! it looks so good I feel like eating it off the screen! I will definitely give it a try.
I had to make it... It's the best I've ever made. Thank you! My husband and kids love it!

I’ve been eating this once every 1-2 weeks and been getting thick asl I had to learn how to make it myself to keep my pockets thick too! So thank you❤️
Aw! You're welcome 😊
Is it fattening? Only asking because I’m dieting trying new foods. This looked nourishing but I’m not familiar with the ingredients & fat content
@@kay-ty5rx I’m not 100% sure I don’t think it’s fattening but I’m not one to gain much weight anyways. But it is a lot of meat and oil so I wouldn’t eat it too often.
@Dominion Ogunjinrin I didn’t say it made me “fat” I was just saying it made my booty look bigger to which I enjoy
@@kay-ty5rx yes egusi is fattening and portion control /calories cycling is necessary.
