The original concept of gender reveal parties was having the doctor put the gender in an envelope, taking it to a bakery, having the color of the cake be pink or blue, and cutting the cake with close friends and family. The fireworks and confetti are dangerous and messy alternatives. People shouldn’t die over these “parties”.
The first few with the kids popping the balloons and getting all that stuff in their faces made me upset. Poor kids.
I think once read somewhere that somebody started a wildfire, which resulted in actual deaths, from a gender reveal gone wrong. For goodness sakes, people, just tell everybody.

My gender reveal was a group text, “Guess what, it’s a boy!” That was about it. I was very happy with the results and the lack of needing to plan out stupid gimmicks.
