  • Before anyone says anything about guns, this discussion is about getting to these men before they commit any crime.
Shooting them can only happen once the crime has been committed and by then we’re too late.
I’ve interviewed an organisation on my podcast who work on the internet to encourage these men to come forward to work with them and I think we can all agree, if one child is saved using their methods then that is job done.
    They are seeing great results.
Christoffer Rahm’s Research Group is at the forefront of efforts to prevent violence, with a specific focus on addressing sexual violence against children. Specializing in clinical research, the group is dedicated to improving our understanding of pedophilia and developing evidence-based treatments. Their research seeks to establish effective, safe, tolerable, and scalable interventions both online and offline for individuals at risk of committing child sexual abuse.

We have to bear in mind that the science (e.g. Lanning 1987) shows that an overwhelming majority (c. 70-80%) of perpetrators are _not_ paedophiles but situational offenders, i.e. adult-attracted opportunists using children as surrogates and adult-attracted sadists finding in children a more vulnerable victim. Failing to understand that crucial point will only lead to ineffective measures.

I'm glad you shared this important data. Something needs to happen for those offenders, too, but I'm not sure how many will be interested. They seem to be of another mindset ...

@@BeingLifted Psychopathic sadists don't tend to seek help because they don't care about the plight of the victim. And opportunists don't tend to seek help because they're responding in the moment rather than harbouring a long-term attraction. Hence a fundamentally different approach will be required to tackle that very sizeable proportion of CSA.

Thank you, Christopher and Allison, for the important work you're doing! It sounds very promising and I wish you well with the EU and finding ways to help younger people with their afflictions. Blessings to you both and to your important work ...

Hi Jeremy. How do you get over the fact that people shun you for discussing and being open about this topic. It's like you become a lepar. My son was taken from me and given to his pedophile father. Everyone expects me to keep quiet and not talk about it. As you know its incredibly hard to get evidence in these cases. His father has got away with murder. I just hate when you bring up the subject and everyone runs. My son can't run. He has no where to go. He is trapped. So why should I be silent.
