Dave Moss actually owns a Yamaha Tracer 900. It's his sole mode of transportation when he's in New Zealand. He knows it rather intimately, like he does the MT-10, his previous NZ daily ride.

I just bought a 15k km used 2018 tracer 900 and for my 280lb ass it was soon soft. Fork preload was 4 lines showing and 14 clicks cc and the rear seems to be bouncy. I got the front sorted for my weight and roads and riding style, touring on poor condition roads, and I am currently working on the rear. Your info is awesome. Thank you for being out there on social media so people around the world can get the aid they need.

Does it work for Tracer gt? There is bit a difrence betwen Tracer 900 and Gt. I go premium if it works for my Gt

Does the GT have more capable rear suspension for riding will pillion and lauggage. Or is it best to replace the rear for aftermarket.

It's definitely better than the stock 900. But if you often ride 2 up and like sporty/track riding it is not that capable and better to replace it with aftermarket one

@Dave, i mostly ride solo (bcause my wife was pregnant tho), only top case on my fj09 2015 .... Now, i'm gonna ride with my wifey in the future. What would you suggest me to do with a suspension, front and rear?

You can read all the articles i posted up to my website from my NZ tour with my Tracer GT (fork oil, 150mm oil height etc). You will need a different rear shock so look into a Nitron with a 14kg spring (again, all detailed in the Tracer GT articles).

I'm looking to add a 1.5" lowering link to the rear suspension
Do i lower the forks 1.5 " in the triple too?

    • @CatalystReactionSBW

Start at 1" with the forks and look at travel used. If there is very little, then go another 1/4"
