What is a MOBA?
Multiplayer Online Battle Arenas, or MOBAs for short, originated as a sub-genre of the RTS (Real-Time Strategy) genre. Because of this, in most MOBA games, the player takes control of a single character from the isometric (top-down) view akin to most RTS games. Typically, in MOBA games, a player takes control of a single character on one of two teams. Those players choose characters that all have their own abilities, or “kits”. To win, the players must use a combination of abilities, teamwork, and strategy to not only best their opponent, but destroy the opponents main structures. A bonus to the genre is that most MOBAs are free games, which is definitely a contributing factor of the their massive success. The genre has many titles, the largest of which being Defense of the Ancients (DoTA) and DoTA 2, League of Legends (LoL), and most recently SMITE!
What is SMITE?
SMITE is one of the more recent free MOBA games to enter the fray. In SMITE you don’t just choose a character, you choose a god. You’ll instantly feel an attachment to characters like Thor and Zeus because even if you don’t know the lore behind them, you’ve at least heard their names before! What makes SMITE so immersive is Hi-Rez Studios’ inclusion of historical lore into the gods’ abilities, kits, and play styles. Thor and Loki aren’t just characters from Marvel comics and movies. They’re also a part of Norse mythology and you can take control of them in SMITE!
What makes SMITE different?
SMITE takes all of the strategy of the top MOBA games and adds another layer of difficulty by putting you into the action! Unlike most MOBA games, SMITE offers players the chance to experience the MOBA genre they know and love from a third-person perspective. This unique perspective allows for an extremely immersive experience unlike any other game in the genre. While this doesn’t sound like such a big change, once you play it you’ll understand! All of these things added together is what has gaming websites everywhere continually rating SMITE as one of the best MOBA games available!

Let's take a moment to appreciate how much utility that one Petrify gave:
1) CC-immune out of Pillar/Impale
2) Nope Thor out of his Berserker Barrage
3) Sets up the kill on Thor with her 1, turning him into a statue
4) Made a statue that body blocked Desert Fury
+FrizFroz Except that Desert Fury CANNOT be body blocked, it pierce through (towers, phoenixs, gf, fg, enemies, walls,... ALL) for his full range.

+deftonesssTR We already have SOME of it. Just the other day I was gazing at a beloved Siege game that I'd been in just before (GOOBIS SIEGE FTW) and discovered the replay button. Although it entered me in at 1:30 and I was from the perspective of the enemy team, it worked!

Of all the gods that can drop from the sky, Thor is by far the most glorious. Even if he's stealing your penta or feeding.

didn't you read last patch notes Thor's ult gets increased dmg but give a random buff to any enemies hut.

Was it a dick move that Thor stole the Penta? Yes did Zeus earn it? Not so much Thor stunned all of them to allow to have time after his aegis Zeus to escape in the first place which allowed him to be alive to get the kills in the first place and xing tian ulted 4 of them into the fountain to have them insta melted after they got hit like once or twice with Zeus ult so was it really his earned Penta? Nah fam
+Cristian Renteria Xian Tian got the quadra but i can see how people would think it was zeus. You can see the Xian 1 at the end of the fountain before the zeus detonate.

Everybody talks crap about the Thor yet there probably wouldn't have even been a quadra without his stun. And he saved Zeus's life. Mvp right there.
+Leighton Demos I know it was a penta. I'm saying it probably wouldn't have even been a quadra without Thor's stun to hold them in place. And the stun also saved Zeus's life while allowing Zeus to throw down the ult, doing a lot of extra damage, and holding them in place for Xing's ult. Mvp.
I know how much damage they can all do, but Thor held them in place.
Xing has a root with a very small hitbox, but yes Xbal was dead. Watch the clip. Zeus was almost dead, Thor used his stun, Zeus lived. Zeus threw down the ult, Xing got the pull because they were all stunned, then they finished off Xbal. That was thanks to Thor and his stun.
Thor did a lot of the work that had gone into getting the quadra from simply throwing down the stun. Sure, dick move to take the penta, but he was instrumental in killing their whole team. I never said Xbal wouldn't die in the end. I simply said everything leading up to him dying might not have happened if Thor hadn't been there to throw down the stun and save Zeus.
Every single one of them was instrumental in that penta. That does not mean Thor earned a kill
The sad thing is that it's not that hard to pull off most of these, epsecially with Ao kuang because you can run in damage go into dragon let your team fight and then return killing there rest that try to run getting an easy triple or double kill at least. But still that Xing ult though.

That ullr arrow made me shudder. (ps. is that hard to hit on pc bc im an xbox player and its pretty hard to judge)
imo Ullr arrows are pretty easy to hit on pic with a little bit of practice. That may just be me though.
