I love the way they did the trailer. @@lilsebastian1458 Lol right. The trailer is pretty straightforward with the theme - how do so many people find it ''mysterious'' or ''hinting at'' something is beyond me.

@Al Stewart Stoker is Park Chan-Wook underrated piece imo. I think the "incestey" thing was because it the movie itself was kind of a homage to Hitchkock's Shadow of a Doubt. It's delightful to watch the cinematography paying homage to Hitchkock also. To me it's a great "monstress coming of age" movie. I don't see it as incest but more like a "kindred spirit" thing where one monster smells and nurtures the other (the uncle and the niece) in this case in the same family.
@Al Stewart Same. The acting is brilliant too. It's also ambiguous as in when knowing the history of the family and the parents , especially the mother when expressing her true feelings regarding her daughter, we ask ourselves is it really the blood like her father feared and her uncle wants her to accept or is it her being raised by an unloving mother after all. It truly makes you wonder.
I know they can't lie about the plot (or Metacritic reviews will annihilate them) but it would be fun if this movie didn't reveal its plot at all and made it seem like a straight Xmas movie
