Armored figure will have limitations. That is to be expected I think. And Thor is not a agile, flexibility type Character. Understanding that, this figure is damn awesome 👏🏾
@@UnparalleledUniverse You are 100% correct about the shield. Looks great but the grips are too soft and flimsy and I had him griping the black plastic piece and it snapped like nothing immediately. I've got to try and super glue it back but not good.
first off thanks for the review, you're the only guy on CZcams that I care about mezco reviews from, you're the best at it. It's a great looking future but an easy pass for me. My gf has been making 1\12 scale clothing for the last few months, getting it down to a point where it can be produced on a large enough a scale to begin selling for fairly low/affordable prices(we both find everyone doing it ridiculous with their pricing) on ebay, etc and im lucky enough to get to keep the initial stuff so I already have my marvel legends version wearing softgoods with some additional paint/airbrushing I applied and I prefer it to this. The sculpt is on par, my paint apps are better and legends has the articulation. I love mezco but their borderline shady release tactics have totally turned me off and the only thing that I have no choice but to let that slide for really is their Batman figures(minus ascending knight). Just got the justice league Batman and have to say it's easily up there in the top 10 mezco figures ever made. Jl bats, knightmare bats, bvs bats, pxe and pr Comic-Con dkr bats, ronin wolverine and punisher are all so dope i can't just flat out hate the company and move on. Also they really need to stop being too afraid to start doing villains.
No problem and Thanks for watching the review. I appreciate that you still enjoy my Mezco reviews even though you aren't into the figures as much. That's awesome that you guys have started making your own clothes. I'd love to check it out becuase you're right, most guys that make stuff are a little to expensive. Thanks again for watching!
@@UnparalleledUniverse Love the figures, hate their release tactics. all theyre doing is artificially inflating the secondary market value to make every release seem like something you need to buy/preorder with a deposit.
It's a pretty good looking figure. Probably the best of the bunch from all of the manufacturers. I absolutely hated the ML version and the SHF was pretty disappointing IMO. I'll put him next to my SHF Gladiator Hulk and ML Gladiator Hulk and see which figure I'll want to pose him with.
Love the movie; hate that 90% of the action figures were from the arena scene. I would love a high quality set of figures from the climax where Thor didn't have all that red graffiti or shin guards and had a different set of weapons.
SmokeForPants most of these companies start production on the first material they’re given (usually the one they complete for the first trailer) and I think this is why SHF for example has some IW figures look off in comparison with the movie but accurate with the early trailers . #MyTwoCents Either way i believe most of the armor on this guy can be removed
Thinner material hangs better. The trade-off is that it's not as opaque. If you can get thin material and keep light from showing through it then that's the best of both worlds.
Love your video's, you have got me into collecting. Watched you compare DD Legend & Select but at the end you advised waiting for the Mezco. Pre ordered straight away as huge DD fan. Will be selective as some are very pricey. Started my collection with black series Vader. Nice for a retail figure. Cheers :)
Solid vid brother! Can’t wait to get mine. I do love how the cape looks, reminds me the BvS Superman cape and I love that one! For the shield you’re absolute right! I will try to use an open hand ant inserts the fingers under that ring! Thanks for the head up with the empty swords sheath man!
They should have done the shield like how the SH Figuarts Captain Americas have them, Where the Handle is attached to the hand, that way theres no stability issues
Great review man. The problem with the armor is that to use the studded leather like is in the movie they would have to mold it in he shape and would be very hard to keep the shape and would probably make the figure more expensive. So what they did, is restricted but in no way is as restricted as the Aquaman. SHF has the helmet movement like this one, but the head is too big and the figure looks scrawny. I really really hope that it doesn't sellout, because I guess I will pick it up regardless of having the Hulk. Maybe if I wait long enough the SHF drops price. But I would prefer very much the Select one.
Leather strap? Bro, they are expensive enough😄 If they add leather that cost of production gets passed to consumer. Hence, be careful what you wish for 🤓👊🏾💎
Mezco makes most of their figures the same size because they keep recycling a very small pool of bodies. The size of this figure is good. If it looks small that's because most of their figures are too big for the scale.
@@schoolprojects1835 They're pretty much only accurate by accident. The only real exception is Popeye. They made him exactly the right size with new parts.
It would be cool if they made a Thor from infinity war.
Yeah that would be dope!
Would sell out instantly lol
It would be cool if they made a thor from the beginning of thor Ragnarok.
For sure!
The head sculpt is fire 🔥 dear brother. To a moment to praise that! Damn good likeness to the actor 4 real.
For sure! I think all the of the head sculpts are great!
What an awesome figure: great paint applications, great sculpting, and nice articulation!
Heck yeah!
100% agree with your opinion of the shield. That thing snapped off in 30 seconds when I tried to get his gripping hand on it
Yup exact same thing happened to me brother!
I love the glowing eye head. You can buy cheap black light keychains and use that to make the eyes glow really bright.
Armored figure will have limitations. That is to be expected I think. And Thor is not a agile, flexibility type Character. Understanding that, this figure is damn awesome 👏🏾
I agree!
Love the review you actually convinced me of buying this I got him for 65 bucks and I really love it so I am very happy thanks
No problem! I'm glad the review was helpful. Dang 65 bucks?! That's a great deal!
The thing is a only 13 so you know at this age it is hard to get good expensive figures so I got to do the wait game sometimes
The way the shield works is that you use the griping hand to hold the black C handle inside the shield.
I realize that but it just seems like the handle is fragile.
@@UnparalleledUniverse You are 100% correct about the shield. Looks great but the grips are too soft and flimsy and I had him griping the black plastic piece and it snapped like nothing immediately. I've got to try and super glue it back but not good.

You're right, it's odd they all always focused on the Arena look rather than when they were all kicking ass together at the end.
Yup. It’s just too scene specific. Every characters look when they’re all on the rainbow bridge is just amazing.

I think it is because that was the most advertised scene in the movie.

the thumbnail tho😍😍😍 how did you make the thunder shoot out of his eyes again?.. seriously that looks sick!
Dude I love how he did that with the lightning effects out of his eyes I wanna know where he got that too lol!!
The cape needs weathering. Looking so bright and pristine throws off the look for me
Yes! That's what I wanted to convey but I was having trouble explaining haha but yes I agree with you.
Your other video convinced me of getting this
This figure is really dope dude, super underrated
Great review man! Can’t wait to get this guy in. Wish the cape was wired tho
Thanks! For sure, a wired cape would have been perfect.
the eyes in order to glow you need like led light

Yeah I keep going back and fourth on the cape, I think I have a love hate relationship with it. It looks good but it's just off for some reason.
Yay! for classic Thor from Mezco (y)
They should have done the shield like how the SH Figuarts Captain Americas have them, Where the Handle is attached to the hand, that way theres no stability issues
The head sculpt looks awesome!
Heck yeah! All 3 of them do.
Sick poses at the end
Definitely like comic mezco better then mcu. Even though I don’t buy too many lol.
Dope I’m def gonna try to pick this guy up soon

Yeah I agree about the leather chest piece making it more expensive. I think they made the right decision for it.
Man...those poses were dope!
Thanks man!
This guy is also underrated imo #Unparalelledsdcc2019
Great review, man!
Thanks brotha!

Plus leather would crack, peel and rot, why would anyone want leather or pleather on toys?
@@gaspar30 I just ment some kind of soft goods material for the straps. Doesn't have to be leather.
Hahaha I'd still buy them. Nah, the straps don't have to be leather, I just ment I wish they used some kind of soft goods for the straps.
YESSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!
Another gem 💎 bro💎💎
His hand is supposed to go in the handle of the shield
does this figure age well?
finally, thanks
No problem! Thank you!
#Unparalleledsdcc2019 would love an endgame thor mezco or even a infinty war thor

Entry number 254!
Actually might get this since it’s cheap on amazon !
The height is disappointing. Mezco has some noticeable scaling issues. I'm still very confused by the size of their classic Superman.
Mezco makes most of their figures the same size because they keep recycling a very small pool of bodies.
The size of this figure is good. If it looks small that's because most of their figures are too big for the scale.
Overall lots of great things going on here. Nice review as always bro
#Unparalleledsdcc2019
Nooooooooooooooo leather please.
Their boxes are annoyingly big. Soon I'll need to start throwing them away
I agree! They are huge and a hassle to store. It was fine when they only had 3 figures out but now with them in the 60's or whatever, it's ridiculous.
They need to make comicave iron man style packing. Is like an iPhone packing
I'm blind and dumb... This headsculp doesn't look like him. Articulation sucks again...
This is way to small
Hulk seemed small too, so maybe it works.
Too*
Hemsworth is 6' 3". Add an inch or so for the soles of his boots. Add less than an inch for his short hair.
The figure is slightly too big.
Neitenth yeah but when is mezco ever accurate with height look at spider the man who is 5ft 9 and is taller than cap who is 6ft 2
