    Everyone is worried about the caps on the back but, never consider the other amount of ceramic capacitors that surround the caps. Zotac's card is loaded. The back of the GPU has plenty of ceramics. So, i wouldn't be worried about this card.

      I've got the OC version of this card and I'm able to push the clock speed to +150 in MSI Afterburner and the card runs stable. Solution for the 1080p monitor with a 3080? Nvidia's super resolution. The games render as 1440p and are scaled to 1080p. Net effect = same load AND better quality 1080p image. Something to keep in mind, as someone might be waiting for black friday, cyber monday or christmas to buy a monitor.

    650w may work but higher power draw systems like a 10900k overclocked would be a bad idea. You never want to run your PSU at the limit.

    • @ronakparikh
      @ronakparikh Před 3 lety

      Forget overclocking, even under stock if you fully load a medium to high end modern cpu + gpu you can go past that including all the power drawn by things like the motherboard and storage and even leds surprisingly suck a ton of power (most are rated at 0.25 watts PER LED on full white light). Just because most games don't take full advantage of cpu and gpu today doesn't mean they won't do that in the future. I'd stick to Nvidia's recommendation of 750 watt rather than this nobody who is just guessing why Nvidia may have given that recommendation. Nvidia doesn't make recommendations because some 650 watt psus are not up to spec that isnt their fault and it is in their best interest to make the recommended psu wattage as low as possible to not scare away customers with large power requirements. Nvidia recommends 750 watts because they know their GPUs and how much power they are likely to draw with common cpus they would be paired with
      This is what I hate about many of these tech youtubers trying to give recommendations to budget consumers. They don't understand the difference between budget and garbage. Budget means buying something that is going to last a long time for a low cost not the cheapest thing that will work only for today's games. If your 650 watt psu dies early because it's being pushed to it's limit everyday or simply cannot handle increased power loads for future games now you have to try to resell it and buy a 750 watt when it would have been much cheaper to buy 750 watts from the start. They did this with b450 motherboards too. If their recommendation ends up costing you money in the long run it doesn't matter because it's inconsequential to them.
      You should never cheap out on psus, and that doesn't just mean buy a really good 650 watt psu, it means buy a really good 850 watt psu even if you only need 650 today and even if it means you have to go from a 3800x to a 3700 or whatever because cpus and gpus go out of style every few years but psus don't change. Same goes for cases. Don't cheap out on the one time purchases just to get better cpu/gpu performance when you'll be reselling it in 5 years max

    • @dbz4586
      @dbz4586 Před 3 lety

      If anything I like to have more than the recommended. I believe 3080 builds like to have 750 watts but I got 800 instead.

    i currently own a RTX 2070 Zotac mini, and its a blast of a GPU, and considering all about the famous "capacitors" Buildzoid said that they might not be as amazing as the founders nvidia ones which is full os SMDs, but they are overall, pretty good and functional, main issues with crashes with rtx 3080 was a driver issue more than anything.
    i hope Zotac keeps improving, they made a pretty good leap jump since nvidia 10 series, and i really enjoy they mini card series, since they work great for itx and take a different focus compared to the "mainline" triple fan designs that other board makers do. What they really need to do now is to nail a very good cooling system for the high end gpus, since they always tend to be more behind vs other board makers.

    The card reached 74°C at peak with an +160MHz OC in MSI Afterburner. The Fan curve is still on auto, but the card gets quiet a bit noisy in my Opinion. I did not meassure the decibels tho.

    I have only noticed this on my 'ZOTAC RTX 3090 Trinity' and wondered if you get the same? im not getting any errors, but I look to get a post code in the form of yellow light when the cards first powers on. On the RGB strip at boot, I get: 1 Yellow flash, 1 pause (no flash), then 2 yellow flashs. boots fine. Just wanted to check these no underlining issue. Wanted to see if the yellow lights normal with other owners?

    Do you have a source for the 4 year warranty for Australia? Their website still says 3 years with no extension and I couldn't find any other sources confirming an extension for Aus (other countries yes). I was lucky enough to grab one of these a few weeks ago (just after the driver to fix crashes) and only issue I've run into was FPS on warzone. According to benchmarks I should have been getting 150 FPS on max (with 8600k @ 5ghz) but it was stuck on 130 no matter what setting used (even RTX on / off) so was worried, but as more people got cards there are some large reddit threads with other brand 3080 users experiencing similar issues, so seems like it is game / driver related. Don't have any of the other games benchmarked to test against to hoping it fixes itself soon.
