Are Zotac GPUs actually that Bad? || RTX 4070 Ti Super Trinity OC

  • It's no secret that Zotac GPUs have had quite a few issues in the whole RTX 3000 series lineup, especially with the Trinity RTX 3070 Ti and RTX 3090, with the earliest rev having memory temperature issues and fans failing.
    However, things seems to have changed with RTX 4000, or at least I hope so!

    I'm assuming an undervolt guide for the 4070Ti Super is coming soon? 😁 I would appreciate a bit of assistance if thats ok. So I already undervolted mine using your tutorials for other gpus, however there's something a bit weird that I encountered. When I put my PC to sleep (not normal shutdown) and then wake it up again, the MSI afterburber undervolt curve will lower itself on its own. Not by much, but still. And even when I try to "force" the curve I have saved to a profile, I can literally see it go lower on its own after I hit apply. The only workaround for this is to fully restart my pc, then the curve is exactly what I set it to originally. I guess my question is, is this normal? Thanks in advance for any replies! ❤

    • @ImWateringPSUs
      @ImWateringPSUs  Před měsícem +2

      Yessir, it’s coming this Monday! Ahahah :)) About the PC sleep issue, unfortunately I’ve seen that before. One work around is to try and set your UV while idle rather than with Heaven Benchmark running, but that doesn’t work with every card and sometimes gives out stability issues. Try giving it a shot!

    I have a 4070 Super Twin Edge with strange hotspot temperature fluctuations - sometimes it hits 93-96C or higher, other times when I run even the same game it won't exceed 87-89C. Undervolting helped to a degree but it still does it sometimes. Wonder if it's a quirk of the Ada Lovelace chips or maybe I just need to repaste the GPU after the warranty expires. My previous RTX 3070 never did this.

    • @ImWateringPSUs
      @ImWateringPSUs  Před měsícem

      That’s definitely a bit strange, personally I’d take it apart and try a nice repaste/repad! But also the temps are not too high so you can just ignore it if you prefer :)

    I bought and have been using the Zotac 4070 Ti Super OC Trinity white edition (the exact same GPU used in this video) for about a month paired with b760m mobo and 14600k.
    I haven't had any problems at all so far, and am very satisfied with this purchase. The highest temperatures I've ever experienced during a heavy gaming session were only 70 - 75 degrees centigrade (rarely touching 75), with no air-con on and the hot, humid weather of Southeast Asia (room temperature reaches 25 - 33 degrees during the day). In fact, if you read the news, Asia has been experiencing severe heatwaves in certain area lately, and this GPU had no problems at all during the bloody hot weather conditions here.
    Hopefully this can help those of you who want and plan to buy this GPU.

      That’s a very tricky question to try and answer fully in a single comment *but* if you’re strictly after “performance” (so lower temps) the best thing you can do is put some liquid metal on the card. However, for normal usage if you’re after longevity, performance, ease of application and basically a blend of it all my pick is the Arctic MX-6 being the boring answer, but the Iceberg Thermal FuzeIce is also very good

    I own an RTX 3060 Twin Edge GPU from Zotac. It runs pretty cool and no noise, I've probably never heard the fans run at full speed except one time I experimented with fan speeds. Their Firestorm software weren't the best, I use MSI Afterburner instead for undervolting (that's when I discovered your guide video and subscribed to this channel lol). No problems till now and overall I'm very satisfied.
    If I wanted to buy a mid-high budget GPUs like RTX 4070+, I'd probably consider better known brands like Asus or MSI. I chose Zotac brand for my RTX 3060 because it wasn't as expensive as Asus or MSI but isn't unbeknown like Axle or Gainward I think?

      I think you centered the point by saying that Zotac is a kind of in-between brand, honestly if you’re gonna get a 4070 tier (Ti, Super, etc) card, you could also buy Zotac again. They’re pretty good!
