My Grannie died on her 90th birthday 20 years ago. In her time, and during the war they looked up to the Royal family, they were very patriotic compared to today. Also going to worship on Sunday was normal, and that’s where you’d socialise through the church. Again, we are not very religious compared to years ago. That photograph of the service man really makes you wonder what happened to him. He was very handsome. To all service men and women past and present thank you so much for all your service. 💓

The second house with all the beautiful furniture was brilliant, I betcha you could have stayed and explored for hours.
The little” gaming chips” you found are tors from a draught playing set and I reckon that syringe jigger is a cake icing syringe, used to ice cakes after filling with soft icing. The old piece of standing machinery at the beginning of your explore looks similar to o e that we have on the farm...a chaff cutter. Well that is your history lesson for today you two amazing and funny fellows...Loads of love and laughter from Ruth in Tasmania, Australia.

These videos are so fun. These guys have so much self control though. I love antiques and things with history, I'd be so hard pressed to resist 'rescuing' those sowing machines.
Loved the bat in the first place. The dressed up picture you were trying to think of could have been a confirmation picture, when you take your first communion maybe. I was like my mum had that with loads of things in there. In Manchester we called it a house coat when I was growing up but my children know it as a dressing gown. It is all banter none of the things we say are really meant the way they come across… If you notice Andy may seem upset at first but then always laughs! That’s because he knows 100% I’m only messing about with him he does worse things to me trust me! He’s my best mate
I had that 70s toaster but in a blue colour .Believe it or not my hubby found it in a potato field in the 80s ,brought it home cleaned it up and it worked better than the one we had .

Many years ago early 80’s I was at a auction in London.
The items up for sale once belonged to Queen Mary.
I was the successful bidder buying a book case from her apartment in Kensington Palace.
I shipped it back to Canada where it lives in my library.
In my region of Canada zunder bowls we’re call thunder bowls.

That looks to me like it was once a holiday cottage.
It would have been cleaner and tidier, but it would have had old world charm being a little cottage in the country, it wouldn't do for anyone now though.
