    Many more layers that four, as a much wider dynamic range than any other module on the market. There are many more drums sets coming, including many instruments (kits, snares, and cymbals) from my personal collection. The ATV aD5 has just born; it will continue to grow and evolve.

      Very nice sound and features, but still some concerns about machinegun effect, try to add an humanizer algorithm to it. I think I have one or two more ideas about it. If you are interested to hear them, you are welcome

    Just bought it it really plays like no other brain very satisfied have an issue with high hats being way to washy but I'm looking to the future for more kits and even more velocity layers but I love the kit and I'm very happy with this

      Mike Snyder is there any way to add round robin tech to the module? I want to get this module but the shotgunning might be a deal breaker. Is it too late to do an update for that?

      @@AtTheSourceStudios That's a relevant question, @drumbz please Mike could you answer it ? I bought an aD5, did not received it yet, but as I tested it before, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of a round robin or random algorithm (strike with same velocity are always sounding the same).

    How much ram is in the aD5 and how large a drum kit can you have with how many layers like... 12 layers per drum and 500 mg per kit or what? Thanks!

  • @demonocusmetalocus3558

    Can you link 2 of these modules together and make a monster drum kit?

  • @DivisionStreetDrums

    Can you sample your own drums and add to the module using the SD card?

    Mike, I can't find any data to do with a certain compatibility; I have an older Ddrum3 snare pad (my favourite) and need to know if aD5 would be a good match. The Ddrum3 snare has two XLR plugs which I run via Y-adapter into one three-way channel of my current module (2Box). The issue I have with the pad on my 2Box is that the center-ish shots sound somewhat "hot" or over-driven. The DD3 12" snare pad has two piezos; one for rim and one fixed beneath a fairly large, thin sheet metal disc in middle of drum, under a layer of foam - so there's no exact "hot-spot_ of a piezo in dead center, as with Roland etc. I don't know if that's useful info or not but no-one seems to know and there's nowhere to test drive the aD5 around here - so I hope either your hands-on experience or possibly your familiarity with drum pads in general will permit an educated guess as to compatibility.
    Thanks!

    sounds awesome! as mentioned, I saw you using both Yamaha and Roland pads, does this also support Alesis pads? and if so, does it support rubber and mesh pads or both?

      @AtTheSourceStudios Před 7 lety

      Lejon the AD5 supports all pads. It is one of the only modules o. the market that is completely universal, the other being the Pearl Mimic Pro. IMO the Mimic Pro is the new king with it's built in complete Steven Slate Vst library. That being said it is also twice the price of the AD5 but comes with almost infinitely more adjustable with many more options to tweak the sound on top of many more than the 5 kits included in the AD5

    3:22 god the crash cymbal sounds terrible, it's playing the same voice continually which makes it sound unnatural.

  • @mrsayang
    @mrsayang Před 8 lety +1

    Not impressed about the machine gunning, which I hear coming from the snare when he plays repetitive on the same volume level

  • @bigangryskygames5281

    Machine gunning on the snare is very obvious and would stop me buying this.

      I agree 100%. I trigger SSD4 VST with my Macbook through my TD-30.....NO MACHINE GUNNING at all. And next year I will buy the Mimic Pro Module, looking forward for the new SSD5 sound samples.

    Such a shame about the machine gun snare. Doesn't sound like they've used round robins. Deal-breaker imo.
