As I have Size 12 feet, I bought a 10" wide popsicle blank from Moose Skateboards in Canada, (Real Canadian Maple) and I cut out the nose inwards like a Landyachtz WolfShark and narrowed the sides forward of the back wheels like on the Powell Andy Anderson Heron(other board companies did it in the 80s too), squared off the back corners and then custom-fitted by marking the spots with my wheels first and going a little forward of that mark, then filed and sanded out wheel wells all the way down to the 2nd layer of veneer from the top, after tracing a template for the over-all shape and placement for max clearance. NO MORE RISERS and I ride loose trucks. I then put a gothic number '13' stencil and taped racing stripes on a Gold Metalflake base coat and then over-coating it with Candy Apple Blue. I also painted my Indy 215s blue with gold hangers. It looks tight A F! Good luck with this and have fun! 🤙
Im currently on a 8.75" non-symetrical egg shaped anti hero and i am ready to never get a popsicle ever again. I had a 8.25" F.A. befor because of the shovel shaped nose and tail, but egg/football shapes just feel better in my opinion. Even though i jumped up a half inch in board size i can flip and scoop it better with a little more control. Shaped decks for life!
Love the death 9inch pool board.....massive square nose....but I want wheel Wells on it....tried the madness 9 inch pool deck....with wheel Wells also the polar.....not the same....so I get ya 👊
I feel like only disadvantages to wheel wells is a little less strength in the deck which isn’t that important if you’re not jumping down big stairs/gaps.
Symetrical, blunt tipped egg shape, 9.25" in the middle, 8.75" over the trucks with wheel wells, med concave with some concave in the nose/tail, 14.25" wheelbase
Best deck I ever rode was a scram “a bean” deck I’m pretty sure. Concave was STEEP made the worst trucks turn like a pair of Indys lol. But my dream deck would be an 8.75 with that steep concave and two twin square noses.
I've made 4 decks. Two were pressed by a friend and the other two were pressed using the Roarocket system. If you want to press boards yourself for cheap Roarockets the way to go. I've been able to make some really cool custom shapes that fit my style of skating. My favorite so far is a 9.0 with a fish tail and hammer head style nose.
I'm going to shorten my nose by 70 percent and the tail by 40 percent on my hockey and make a wheel well and stick on 60 mm or 63 mm wheels only for cruiseing mostly
Length, nose length, tail length, wheelbase, width, concave mellow or steep? I can only skate tails that are 6.75 to 7 inches. Not easy to find but their out there.

I like to skate shapes, makes it more interesting. Can’t just skate popsickles

I find a convex wood file works good to diy wheel wells.
I may try this with an old deck . I like the idea of them for the wheel bite factor

Ive been adding wheel wells myself to every board i get. Cuz im riding 56-58+ wheels on an ace 66 trucks (53 tall).

I didn't catch the specs?? I just got an Opera Dragon, its a shaped deck 9.125 wide and 15.2 wheelbase. Gonna see how it rides soon!!
