Please more stories
Please do bring such great stories
Great story but please shorten your introductions. Half the episode was about our psyche in defeat vs victory, a couple lines could’ve sufficed IMHO.
Shekhar Sir, amazing. Please get such stories they motivate the younger generation
I am from a tehsil in jodhpur called osian, my father is a government teacher and i remember going with him when he was going to train newly recruited teachers for rajasthan government in a nearby school, about 30 or 35 kilometers from osian town and on my way i saw a statue of a soldier and asked my father, who is he? To which i got the response that he is major shaitaan singh and he got paramveer chakra for the Valor he showed in the war, I didn't know then that it was 1962 war because first i was a kid and second i didn't know exactly what a soldier's job was (that young), for a long time i kept thinking that he fought in kargil war, osian is a jat dominated area, and rivalry of jats and rajputs is very bitter in that area, as time passed , i really appreciated the fact thing that war heroes never fell victim to that rivalry and later that area got renamed as major shaitan singh nagar despite osian being continuously dominated by maderna family starting from late shri parashram maderna, who till gehlot ruined his chances of becoming CM by colluding with delhi leadership was the tallest congress leader in the state.
Being a veteran of IAF, I had studied this battle. But it's indeed great of you to bring it out for the benefit of of our fellow citizens.
Please keep doing this type of cut the clutter. Thanks a million 🎉
I gradually understand the perverted thinking of Indians. There is no doubt about the fiasco of 1962. Such shame must be tinged with tragedy, otherwise India cannot exist in the world with dignity, and thus lies are born. False "heroes" can give Indians temporary comfort, but the 4,000:0 prisoner-of-war ratio is a resounding slap in the face to the false "heroic" deeds fabricated by India. It is a shame that India cannot erase under any circumstances.
Thank you so much for your service! 🇮🇳
Shekhar, this is such a welcome episode! As an ex - officer of one of the units that lost its entire HQ company as well as CO and other officers, I wish fellow Indians to really know their military history. Please do educate us from time to time with your deep knowledge of Indian military events.
Thank you so much for your service! 🇮🇳
Thank you for your service Sir 🫡
A lucid narration of our military's heroic tales. Well done Shekhar Gupta. I feel such episodes will not only let present generation know our heroic past but will also make us more cohesive.❤
Shekhar, I like longer formats anyways so this is good. Moreover you are a master storyteller so nothing like you telling a story and we then getting into a rabbit hole
This is the same sekhar coupta who wrote hit pieces against sitting army chief Gen VK Singh in 2012.
Hit pieces were written at pc Chidambaram's house, the then home minister of India.
This sekhar coupta accused the army chief of staging a coup by using annual military exercise as a pretext.
People really have short memories.
Fantastic! Overwhelming! A real time storytelling which we perished as our old good days. This episode is like a Gem to be collected in those Old Jewellery Box. Thanks for sharing it in a public domain 🙏🙏
Occasional story telling (at least once a month) will be great escape from current news and events. These current things will keep on happening.
And Shekhar ji, if we have time to watch reels and shorts, we can watch some extra minutes of these great stories.
Thanks again for sharing today's story in detail.
Fabulous ….absolutely loved the CTC, during my work i had the opportunity to travel to Bomdilla and spent a night at a local homestay. During the night, a freezing one, the owner of the homestay told us about our brave Indian Soldiers fight back and retreat of Nov ‘62 and how the soldiers disguised themselves as locals and worked in the fields to escape the Chinese. It seems the Chinese had reached upto Tezpur!!
Thank you once again❤

Literal Goosebumps after hearing the story . Great format shekhar sir.
Thank you Shekhar for shedding light on this important history of our nation. you are finest chronicler of the contemporary history of this ancient civilization. People as devoted as you come by in generations.
I am sure a podcast with Shekhar Gupta would be fascinating. I tried to find all your long form speeches and would be great if you could just share a link of the same.
Shekarji Riveting. Trears roll down my cheeks hearing you take us to moments of great sacrifice of our soldiers. I bet most others would be experience the same. Thank you
I loved this format in itself. Ofcourse, the selection (and goosebumps one gets) of the Ahirs of 13 Kumaon Charlie company at Rezangla are mentioned, has an added influence. Do continue on to Walong and other Eastern sector battles as you promised.
Very interesting narrative ! I arrived in Bharat in 1961 as a 14 year old with my grandparents and lived in Punjab for 51/2 years . Saw Goa operation in 1961 . Indo-China war of 1962 and India-Pak war of 1965 . I left Bharat in 1966 and have never visited again . These memories are solidly etched in my mind ! Used to read all the action in the papers . Thanks for this “refresher” .
why you left India ??
@@ranjitkamath2417 : I was born overseas . Came with grandparents as they wanted to live rest of their lives in Bharat . They brought be with them . I was 14 years old .
I am an ex-student of sainik school and joined forces through NDA..once in devlali I was meeting my classmate from sainik school and he saw a board reading chusul warriors and smirked on the name..I felt bad that despite having military association since childhood he wasn’t aware about it and I wondered, had I known about it if not being in forces..that’s how little is covered about the real heroes of the nation who gave it all for the future of the country..thank you for covering it and making the masses aware about the valour and courage of our personnel..
Shekhar Sir, please bring more such gems... Your presentations are so soothing to hear...
You are one of the finest, well travelled and well read Journalist Sir. Make sure your wisdom and values are passed on.
I salute you, for getting these stories to our generation. And of course, saulte those who put their lives in protection of our nation.
This is a brilliant concept sir, I loved it !!❤
Dear SG sir, as you said, we lost so much in 1962 war that small victories like Rezang la was forgotten…. Just like we didn’t celebrate Kohli and shami achievements because of loss in final…
Aey hey bhai ka naya setup, party bro party😅😅
Looking forward to more such episodes of a different CTC .. specially which remind us of important events in our history
This was just pure nectar Shekhar Sir. Our heroes who fought valiantly in the frontiers and outposts of our vast nation need to be remembered and honoured for posterity. Every successive generation needs to be told these stories anew in a format such as this and in any medium thats the rage of the day such as movies or podcasts. The military establishment and the central government must build more stunning memorials in every city, town and village across the country from where these heroes hailed from. The veterans associations, the armed forces and all levels (Panchayat/state/centre) of the government must collaborate to celebrate important days of victory or defeat that we as a nation encountered. Please do these types of episodes quite frequently. Maybe you could start a spinoff series just for these type of episodes. Thanks so much.
We really love your story telling from the past …
It’s good to have different cut the clutter once in a while….
Keep it up sir
Brilliant, wide ranging look at the battle of Rezang La, Shekhar. Your story telling in your inimitable style, peppered with so many interesting asides adds immensely to that brave stand in which Charlie Company, 13 Kumaon gave of their best - over and beyond the call of duty. In the east, you have mentioned Walong. Please also do an episode on Nuranang and the bravery of 4 Garhwal - heroes like Rifleman Jaswant Singh and the CO Lt Col BM Bhattacharjea. Nuranang (now Jaswantgarh in memory of Rfn Jaswant Singh, Maha Vir Chakra Posthumous) was the only battle honour awarded in the East. And, in a departure from normal practice, it was a Battle Honour with no corresponding Theatre Honour. Once again, Kudos for a remarkable episode of Cut the Clutter. Looking forward to more such episodes.
Throat choked 28th minute onwards. I wonder why this is not taught in our schools. Thank you SG. More of such stories please.

Loved this format shekhar... would love to see more story telling by u atleast twice a month... because u had all your journalism experience in the most eventful times of Indian history...i would love to see historical story on northeast insurgency if u covered that i am sure u have amazing story about it too
I definitely love your CTC. New format also looks great !! Best wishes.
This format is highly informative. I have learnt about Rezang La as a part of Military History as a subject at the Indian Military Academy. You have covered the topic succinctly and yet comprehensively
It's a pleasure to hear such stories from you. Doesn't matter even if it goes beyond 20min. Where else we would get an opportunity to learn this art of story telling
Thanks for sharing such a memorable history and I feel a break are much needed, as this brings & highlights what India really is! Above all our Armed forces, valour & heroism for our next generation to remember. Thank you once again for a wonderful narration!
it helps us revisit our history and make us aware of our glorious past

Hi, Shekhar Sir this podcast is a goldmine for me. Please make more podcast like this on military history.
Absolutely love this format. Please make it a series, like for example you can do a 3 part series of battles from 1962. Don't make it a one part occasionally thing. It will keep viewer guessing regarding when is the next going to come. Also can you explain the map a bit, I don't understand what I am seeing when displayed.
Thank you Shekhar ji for sharing this story in such detail.🙏
It's fantastic. Loved this episode.
Very well done episode. Love this format. Looking forward to seeing more like this. Thank you Shekharji
Loved it! Thank you for keeping these important stories alive.
This is what I love about SG Sir and The Print...
PLEASE PLEASE continue this.. Love to hear more about our great Indian history and intricacies 🙏
This is a very welcome step to bring in a story from our history. Thank you SG for bringing military valor of our soldiers to the fore - lest we forget. A big salute to C company of 13 Kumaon.
Fantastic video, please bring more such videos! Vintage SG at his best!!
This was fantastic ! Please do more of such format and content.
Loved the concept Shekhar ji❤
We love your stories and your experiences that you share with us. The more the merrier.
Just a small note for this episode, the microphone had a bit of a hissing sound, which is generally not there in your other cut the clutter episodes. Love your content, keep up the good work!
Occasional story on history of India and the world, once a month will be most welcome.
Time and the contents for the CTC is perfect
Very good format. Great details and easy to comprehend. Thanks for doing these kinds of episodes in between.
Fabulous learning topic for our younger generation. Learning from mistakes is far better than dwell in achivements.
Absolutely loved this Shekharji. Would absolutely love more of this "looking at important events".
Other than the ring lights on your glasses, everything was pitch-perfect.
We love this format ❤. Hungry for more
Another sterling episode SG, interesting facts and extremely well presented. Its an extremely well presented episode and please keep these coming - its makes the morning coffee even more enjoyable. Thanks and great job!!
These kind of episodes are the need of the hour.
A very informative and inspiring episode. We would definitely like more of these
Loved it. We must have a distillation of your years and how it is shaping our times.
Bahut badhiya, maja aa gaya.. Aise CTC banate rahiye taki humlogo ko apni history ki insights milti rahe
Love this new format. I have always enjoyed the long ctc
Excellent CTC episode. Would definitely like more such episodes that cover stories of military history. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing Valor of our great soldiers
Very interesting part of the 1962 war. Thanks for sharing it with us. Will now search for more details in the published literature .
Bang on..Great Topic, lucid narration and thoroughly researched. My ❤
Remarkable. Very nice description of event we have not remembered. Welcome such cut the clutter. Of the length of episode. . It was absorbing and you have explained the events vividly. Best wishes welcome such episodes
Wonderful episode highlighting the heroic deeds of our soldiers. Made my day!
Bestt storytelling. I could picture as you go through the events. Need more of these more often. Once in a fortnight at least
Thank you for this incredible episode and this stirring story once again. Always gives us goosebumps. This format is definitely much appreciated and definitely is a good change from the usual current affairs episodes.
Another great episode.
I like the new way of telling stories. Keep up the good work.
Nice new format sir. Thanks for brisk revision of the events at the battle of Chushul along with references for in depth reading on this topic.
Loved the format. On many CTCs, you have taken us there, where you stood and experienced, a perspective which I and probably many of us watching, will only get to experiance through written words. I find these perspectives priceless and that is one of the most important factors that drives me to look up on youtube "has a new CTC/NationalInterest been released". So I know I would love it.
It was superb episode and format sir. Please continue this way😊
Thank you Shekhar sir for this wonderful episode. It would be amazing to actually start a time unrestricted podcast on such topics, you will find much deeper engagement and a whole new set of audience who crave long format, deeper insights into topics and historical events.
Great work, I respect your efforts, please keep making much much more
Really enjoyed the narration and getting to know about this valuable episode of Indian army history. Certainly vote for more of such content and the length of the episode should be aligned to the importance and context of the discussion, hence no worries at all about the amount of time invested.
The format as well as time are excellent. It was a nice change from the normal subjects we are listening to. It is refreshing to listen to heroic works done by our countrymen. Moments of pride and lessons for future.
Congratulations
Lovely Shekharji. Off course we have heard of all these battles but the detailed account in which u present them in your exemplary oration I doubt most of us would not know about. This is a fantastic idea to delve into such off the normal topics especially our valorous past
Wow..such amazing n inspiring narration... overwhelming...thank you sir for sharing 🙏🙏
Every other news channel will cover the news stories in some or the other way. This stories that you have lived through are rarely told anywhere else. I loved this episode and I would urge you to do this more often .
Wonderful and heroic. Must continue such enlightening details, to generations for valour of our defenders for their sacrifice with such episodes
Excellent CTC!!! Please continue this format maybe once a quarter of revisiting our history…
Please....we need more of this format and insights....it's brilliant
Shekar Ji, loved this format and loved the fact that this was done as Members only or Members first program.
As usual it’s such a treat to hear Shekhar Gupta talk, I must confess I fell in love with your reporting when I first started watching Walk the talk, it was such a treat back then too, believe me long form is your game and you must stick to it. I cannot stop being greedy and ask you to start a podcasting as such stories, specially war stories, need a deeper dive and a broader canvas to explain the gravity of the situation.
Love this series, and congratulations on the new sound setup ❤
That was a wonderful coverage. Yes, this format and occasionally dealing with such turning points in Indian history is very much welcome. After all the past illuminates the present and we must collectively take pride and also take our lessons from history if we have to see the present in the right perspective. Keep doing the good work.
Thank you for sharing stories like these. The country needs to know the great sacrifices made by Indian soldiers!
ThanQ Shekharji...
Great episode, would love such episodes more frequently providing us an opportunity to time travel to some of the great stories of India.
Salute to u SG. Couldn’t hold back my tears. Throat choked. Your story forced me to read through all the comments. Imagine what the two soldiers had to go through facing their villagers.
This is such a welcome episode.. great job sir..
Sometimes doing this format is awesome Shekhar Ji. Look at it as also you leaving your experience and insight behind for a generation that does not even know that there was a time in India when telephone connection took 15 years and gas connection took 10. You are getting old too and will not be with us forever. These are your legacy markers. 🙏🙏
Stories are gold..please continue shekar..who knows many memories may come back that you had left put during earlier reporting
..
This is a super story, thank you Shekhar ji for sharing
I loved the format, please continue Shekhar ji
Love this format as well
It's refreshing to see you in this format.
Honesty. I am just crying. Mr. Shekhar Gupta, this was your best CTC.
This was fantastic, Shekhar ji. We owe so much to our martyrs . Thanks a lot for this episode. More than goosebumps, such narrations create deep respect and admiration for our Forces. Please do more stirring stories like this. The format was excellent too.
Brilliant episode, Sekhar. Thank you.
I'd also add that rather than once every few months, it could be a monthly or bi monthly affair. If I may, I'd like to offer a topic.
Feroze Gandhi and Sanjay Gandhi. There's so much clutter because few seem to be willing to talk about them.
This one's great. Agree to your idea. Thank you.
Of all the episodes of SG, I liked this the best. The reasons given for remembering, the Sunderji's logic etc are revealing. Thanks for revealing that Rewari had a memorial. Having lived in Karnal, Haryana, I feel proud to have seen these agile men, who form cradle of India's uniformed services.
Your clut the cutter is informative , thank you
I have been a long time subscriber of the ThePrint and trust me I love this story telling sessions and looking forward to the Podcast genre as well. Please continue to narrate such worthwhile stories and really appreciate it!
Excellent sir, keep doing this type, it's so nice to go back in time , this time of information is off the Grid thank you sir
We love this format, so interesting we would love to see more of this type of ctc 🎉
Thank you so much Shekhar for doing this. Most know more about our heroic or not so heroic past. We must not forget the sacrifices or even valour of past. Wish I could slap the people who say/said Hindi chini bhai bhai
