    11:04 your "layer 1" should be on top (over your curves layer) that's why it all went wrong at the end. but thanks for the video.

    There is a mistake in this tutorial. Your curves layer was supposed to be below the sample layer "layer1" as whenever you were choosing the color with curves' color picker, it was actually changing the color sample.

      Mayur Bajaj also the color sample tool was set to point sample and that why he was struggling making selections. Should have been at least 11x11 sample size or larger.

      Also you need to DOUBLE CLICK the icon the first time to change the sample.

    you should have put the Curve Layer below the one with the dark/bright/midtone colors taken from the original photo.

    I have been using a similar method for some time but matching the % of brightness to the % of location is brilliant. Why didn't I think of that?

    This is great, but outdated. The PS2022 has neutral filters functions that allows you to simple give the sample photo, and it will do all the work. It would be good if you do a follow video about that. Thanks.

    it didn't match because you first click on the highlight color for sample and didn't click of the background layer so the color for sample change to white and not "pastel green" :P

      Reverse engineering colour grades you like probably is one of fastest ways to learn colour grading though. Eventually you will come up with your own styles etc.

    This won't work. When you first use curves and select highlights, mids, or shadows, you have to DOUBLE click the icon the first time.
