  • Sprayed on a few coats of clear coat to keep the plywood from absorbing too much of the Raptor Liner coating.
Part Thirty of the build progress of my custom overland expedition rig. It is based on the Stewart and Stevenson 1088 series 6x6 5 ton trucks that were designed for the military. I'm building a custom camper to go explore in.
    Enjoy the ride!

Thanks, it’s a lot of work but I’ll know it inside and out, literally :)

The raptor liner will like the poly and stick like crazy?

Yessir, as long as it is scuffed. The poly is basically just to keep the ply from absorbing too much moisture from the raptor liner. That would use a lot of liner and have the potential to be brittle.

    Is that marine grade plywood?

It is not. Standard ACX for the walls and CDX for the roof. After it is glued and screwed, its filled, sanded, the coated a few times with the poly before its final finish of the raptor liner. The inside walls are sprayed with poly as well, and all the edges and seams are sealed too. It holds up really well under really harsh usage too!

Thanks for that. I think I will use this method for my build.

If you are looking to install a 12V fridge, please watch this video

Thanks for the comment. Does that fridge handle 24v? Does it come with baskets? It looks a little rough and rusty for being not that old. There is no freezer section? Personally, I prefer the Whynter models that have dual zones and very nice construction. Thanks for the thought though. Might be good for someone looking for something really cheap.
