  • I took my Lumix GX80 to the coast with my Olympus 40-150mm and my Laowa 6mm lens to see which I preferred, the telephoto lens, or the wide angle lens.

    I was disappointed with the amount of noise in the final photo 😢.

      When I first saw the last photo I thought "wow I like the grainy look it has" I think it is a great photo and it proves that a photo does not always have to be perfect. Keep up the great work, really enjoy your channel.

      Thank you Rick 🙂That’s actually a really good point.

      You might be disappointed Chris, but it doesn’t make it a bad photo. Some of the most famous photos ever are noisy as heck, but we see past it. With your photo, I didn’t even see it until you mentioned it.

    I own the OM1 camera but a few weeks ago I bought the Lumix GX9,..God, what a lovely little beautiful camera. The image quality is simply outstanding, It´s far far away in terms of auto focus compared with the OM1 but man, I really enjoy getting outside taking photos. Superb shots you´ve taken there with such a little m4/3 camera. Beautiful indeed!!!

    Hi Chris, love shooting wide more than long. 9mm Panasonic Leica f1.7. Great astro lens

    I started my mf3 adventures with a GX7 then GX9 and now a G9.
    For wide angle, I use a laowa 7.5 mm with some pleasing results
    The wide angle zooms are too expensive for the use I'd get from them
    The 12 to 35 is my go to lens for these cameras 📷👍

    That truck shot looks wild with the 6mm. It's like it got shrunk into a Tonka toy but cool

    Adore the opening to this video. The music, the pictures. The content is top notch but the delivery is superb!

    Love the pic of the single post, Chris. I recently chopped in my Canon APS-C kit for M43 Panasonic G9, partly as a result of your channel.

    I’m a nature photographer who mainly uses the Olympus 40-150mm f/2.8 Pro, but I frequently take the Laowa 6mm f/2 with me, as well. It’s a fabulous pair of lenses to carry. Thanks for this video!

    Nice photography. And it proves you don't need one other thing to get great photos: depth (i.e megapixels).

    Length. The 40-150/2.8 is my go-to outdoor lens :)

    I am more of a length person. But from time to time I enjoy using the Laowa 6mm, too. Especially if the sky has a lot of dramatic clouds.

    Some cracking shots there. Zoom lens over wide angle for me, but that’s more down to me never getting the look right like you were talking about of exaggerating the perspective, its a look I really like, but rarely am happy with when I try, need to practice more at the wider end of things.

    Length. Can’t take all the lenses out, so I fall back to the phone for wide shots, and have the slow Panasonic 35-100 as my go-to walk around now. I looked at my EXIF data a few years ago, and I was nearly always at the long end of my 12-45/12-60 etc zoom lenses.

    • @ben.prescott
      @ben.prescott Před měsícem +1

      I would point out that said Panasonic lens is titchy, it makes some primes look bulky. But that kind of goes against the underlying theme here 😂

    Well Chris, another great video as usual. I have everything from the Laowa 6mm up to the Oly 75-300, and use them all, so err... Length AND Girth for me 🤣

  • @jpsteiner2

    Length or girth. Hmmm. In MFT, I range from 17mm to 45mm for most photos. 10% 8-12mm; 25% 17mm; 25% 20mm; 25% 25mm; 15% 45mm or longer.

    Hi Chris, been watching your videos for a while now and really enjoy them. Could I ask what filters you are using with your Laowa 6mm? Got the old Lee100 filter system, but causes significant vignetting and more so with the polarising filter on. Looking for a new system for my Laowa 6mm but not sure what to get?

    • @ChrisBaitson
      @ChrisBaitson  Před měsícem

      I use the K&F Square Pro filter system with it.
