  • When your Hoover Windtunnel vacuum won't turn on, the troubleshooting steps in the user manual are limited and don't cover replacing the fuse. I demonstrate how to disassemble, investigate the issue, replace the fuse, and reassemble.
Tools required: Phillips screwdriver, replacement fuse, wire cutters, wire strippers, wire crimpers, wire crimps, and electrical tape. A multimeter or ohmmeter is not necessary but very helpful for troubleshooting.

My vacuum is probably as old as yours- maybe older. But it has been the best vacuum I have owned- and super convenient with it being bagless. Despite losing some attachments over the years that I could probably find some generic replacements for- it has tugged along fine for well over 10 years. The suction is AMAZING. I used to own an extremely heavy and extremely expensive hoover that they used to sell via door to door salesman. This one was a fraction of the cost and much much better! So when I didn't notice it clog up on me and it stopped working half way through my vacuuming... I thought it was done for good. I waited an hour for it to cool down- cleaned it out- and hoped it was just an overheating issue. But nope. I tried turning it on and... nothing. Then I found your video. I didn't know it had a fuse! So I will be ordering the correct replacement and fingers crossed... Let's hope it works!

@@vapinggaming awesome! I might suggest to open it up first and see if the fuse has similar burn marks as mine had. If you have a multimeter you can check everything out fairly easy too. Any questions let me know!

Thanks for posting this. My 1 year old windtunnel shut down right in the middle of miller moth season. I'll check for this fuse and if the problem replace it with a more suitable fuse holder.

Hope it works out for you. I assume the design might not change much between models and years.
